Opportunistic Spectrum Access Using Optimal Control Policy in RF Energy Harvesting Cognitive Radio Networks (무선 에너지 하비스팅 인지 무선 네트워크에서 최적화 제어 정책을 이용한 선택적 스펙트럼 접근)

  • RF energy harvesting technology is a promising technology for generating the electrical power from ambient RF signal to operate low-power consumption devices(eg. sensor) in wireless communication networks. This paper, motivated by this and building upon existing CR(Cognitive Radio) network model, proposes a optimal control policy for RF energy harvesting CR networks model where secondary users that have low power consumption harvest ambient RF energy from transmission by nearby active primary users, while periodically sensing and opportunistically accessing the licensed spectrum to the primary user's network. We consider that primary users and secondary users are distributed as Poisson point processes and contact with their intended receivers at fixed distances. Finally we can derive the optimal frame duration, transmission power and density of secondary user from the proposed model that can maximize the secondary users's throughput under the given several conditions and suggest future directions of research.

Performance of Frequency Planning and Channel Allocation Algorithm for Unified Inter-Cell Interference Avoidance and Cancellation in OFDMA Cellular Systems (OFDMA 셀룰러 시스템에서 셀 간 간섭 회피 및 제거 기법을 적용한 주파수 설계와 채널 할당 알고리즘의 성능)

  • In this paper, we propose UCA algorithms that are applied to the unified inter-cell interference mitigation through frequency plannings in OFDMA cellular systems. Under three frequency plannings, UCA algorithms allocate frequency channels to UEs(User Equipments). Proposed UCA algorithms require the information of received signal power from home sector and neighbor sectors respectively. We compare all possible combinations of UCA algorithms and frequency plannings through compute simulation. A primary performance measure is the low 5th percentile of SINR at UEs. The proposed UCA algorithms can avoid the interference to neighbor cells by allocating relatively low transmit power to centrally-located UEs and cancel inter-cell interference at cell-edge UEs by a coordinated symbol repetition. We show that UCA algorithm 2 applied in frequency planning 1 is promising among other combinations of UCA algorithms and frequency palnnings in terms of the low 5th percentile of SINR at UEs.

  • Network coding was proposed to increase the achievable throughput of multicast in a network. Recently, combining network coding into user cooperation has attracted research attention. For cooperative transmission schemes with network coding, users combine their own and their partners messages by network coding. In previous works, it was shown that adaptive DF with network coding can achieve diversity gain and additional throughput gain. In this paper, to improve performance of conventional protocols and maximize advantage of using network coding, we propose a new network coding based user cooperation scheme which uses adaptively amplify-and-forward and decode-and-forward according to interuser channel status. We derive outage probability bound of proposed scheme and prove that it has full diversity order in the high SNR regime. Moreover, based on the outage bound, we compute optimal power allocation for the proposed scheme.

  • In V2X communication, a random based resource selection scheme is needed with considerations of cases that support devices without sidelink reception capabilities and require reduction of UE's power consumption. In this paper, as improvement of D2D's resource section scheme that one TRP is repeated to data subframe pool within a PSCCH period, it is proposed that different TRPs is applied for enhanced random resource selection based on pseudo-random sequence having UE-specific seed value. By results of proposed scheme's performance by numerical analysis, it is confirmed that collision probability among resources allocated to each UE for data TB is reduced, and a number of UEs which can avoid resource collision as much as possible and have simultaneous resource allocation is increased.

  • Powerline communications (PLC) is a promising medium for network access technology where smart grid aided network services can be provided. In the presence of frequency selective fading in the PLC channel, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a technique for reliable communications. This paper presents a spectral efficient method using a superimposed hidden pilot for OFDM-based PLC systems. Based on the scheme using a hidden pilot, it is possible to estimate the channel with no consumption of bandwidth, but with utilization of power allocated to the hidden pilot. Computer simulations showed that the proposed scheme provides higher achievable data rate than that of the conventional schemes in low voltage and medium voltage transmission lines.

  • In the clustering protocol, lifetime of the cluster members radically decrease because frequency interference between clusters make every cluster member consume a lot of energy to maintain or increase its transmission rate. In this paper, we analyze the frequency interference among the clusters with the game theory which deals with resource bargaining problems between players, and present a rational power allocation strategy. Both the cases that each cluster tries to selfishly occupy and cooperatively share the resource are analyzed in terms of non-cooperative and cooperative games. In simulation, we compare the cooperative game with non-cooperative game in terms of the node lifetime.

  • To enable the efficient use of energy, the environment where unscheduled receivers can harvest energy from the transmitted signal is considered in next-generation wireless communication systems. In this paper, we propose a scheme for allocating subchannel and power to maximize the system throughput and harvested energy simultaneously using optimization techniques. Through simulations, we verify that the proposed scheme can increase the system throughput and harvested energy harmoniously. In particular, the proposed scheme improves the harvested energy remarkably with a negligible degradation of system throughput, compared with conventional scheme, as a result, energy can be used efficiently in the system.

  • Ship Area Network(SAN) can monitor the status of ship in real time and minimize the maintenance costs by connecting various devices to the network. In particular, among researches on SAN, Wireless Sensor Network using sensor nodes that is low-cost, low-power, and multifunctional has a number of advantages. In this paper, we propose cluster-based multi-channel algorithm considering the energy efficiency in wireless sensor network in a ship. The proposed algorithm shows the result of improvement of throughput and energy efficiency, because it reduces interference between clusters by using channel allocation algorithm that is distributed and dynamic.

  • Femtocells as home base station for indoor coverage extension and wideband data service, have been studied with significant interests. When femtocell is deployed, the existing cell structural of changes causes various technical problems. In this paper, we investigate the femto-macro cell interference mitigation in OFDMA system. We propose dynamic downlink resource management scheme which adjust the transmitted power of femtocell according to the strength of received macrocell signal and allocates subcarrier to femtocells in a dynamic manner. In this way, the interference between the macrocell users and femtocells is reduced. The simulation results show that proposed scheme enhances both macrocell and femtocell throughputs.

  • LN2440SBC 임베디드 보드는 ARM 코어 방식의 S3C2440A CPU를 가진 임베디드 컴퓨터 시스템이다. 이 시스템에 부착한 터치스크린 기능을 가진 TFT LCD 키트인 LP35의 구동을 위해서는 ARM 코어, LCD 컨트롤러, 그리고 LCD 장치와의 통신을 위한 SPI(serial peripheral interface)의 초기화와 LCD 화면에 이미지, 선, 도형 같은 것들의 출력을 가능하게 해주는 그래픽스 라이브러리 함수들이 필요하다. 본 논문은 이같은 기능들을 가지는 LP35를 위한 드라이버의 구현 방법을 기술한다. 특히, 드라이버 구동을 위한 초기화 방법과 화면 출력 기능들의 구현을 위해 필요한 픽셀 디스플레이 함수의 구현에 중점을 두어 설명한다. 또한 픽셀 디스플레이 함수를 이용한 기본 그래픽스 라이브러리 함수들에 대해 설명한다. 드라이버의 초기화를 위해서는 클럭 속도 설정, 범용 입출력 핀(GPIO)을 LCD와 SPI 용으로의 할당. SPI의 마스터/슬레이브 및 보오 레이트 설정, LCD 컨트롤러 레지스터 설정을 통한 LCD 기능 선택. 그리고 SPI를 통한 LCD 장치로의 파워 온(power on) 명령 전달 등이 수행된다.
