The purpose of this study is to provide for the basic data useful to the effective production and marketing of the foundation garment befitting adult women's shapes and preferences, and thereby, help them improve their apparel life. For this purpose, 563 Korean women aged between 20-59 were sampled to survey their recognition and actual wearing condition of foundation garments and positively identify the factors affecting the practices and thereupon, determine the correlations among them by age group. The raw data of this study is processed by SPSS Win(10.1) and analyzed by using frequency, percentage, $x^2$-test, ANOVA, Duncan-test. The most of adult women were aware of their foundation size and the absolute majority of them wore brassieres, while a half of them used the girdles. The adult women had 5.7 Brassieres and 2.2 Girdles. The use of the foundation depended much on user's age or seasons. They had begun to wear Brassieres at their age of 15 on an average and Girdle around their age of 19 depending their individual needs. It has been found through this study that adult women's is actual wearing condition of foundation garments differ by age group, which may well suggest that foundation production need to consideration this age-wise practices when setting up their foundation production and marketing strategies.

여성 파운데이션용 편포의 압력특성에 관한 문제를 공학적 관점에서 검토해보기 위하여 거들용 편포와, 또한 비교를 위하여 드로우어즈용 편포를 시료로하여 완전강체 및 완전탄성체, 그리고 강체와 탄성체를 동시에 가지는 수압체를 모델로 제작하고, 시료를 고리형태로 만들어 피복시킨후 그 압력을 12시간 동안 연속측정하였다. 이때 시료의 신장정도, 수압체의 탄성체 구성비 등을 여러가지로 달리 하여 그에 따른 압력의 변화를 봄과 동시에 시간경과의 효과도 검토하여본 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 강체를 수압체로한 경우는 시료의 신장률 증가에 따라 압력이 거의 직선적으로 증가하였고, 그 정도는 거들의 재료가 드로우어즈의 재료에 비하여 훨신 크게 나타났다. 2. 수압체의 탄성체구성비가 증가할수록 신장률 증가에 따른 시료의 실질신장률의 증가 경향이 둔화되어, $40\%$신장률의 경우는 그 이전보다 오히려 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 3. 수압체에 탄성체가 포함된 경우는 매우 적은 압력을 나타내었으며, 시료 신장률의 증가에 따른 변화도 매우 적게 나타남으로써 시료 신장률이 클수록 강체수압체에 대한 압력과의 차이가 더욱 커지게 됨을 알 수 있었다. 그러나드로우어즈 재료의 경우는 탄성체가 받는 부담은 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 4. 압력의 경시변화는 초기의 압력분포 안정화 과정을 제외하고는 12시간까지 어떤 경우에도 크게 나타나지 않았다.

This study was intended to grasp the actual condition of adult women's wearing foundation garments for the Korean adult women in their 20s to 40s. For this purpose, questionnaire research was conducted for 639 adult women in their 20s to 40s living in Seoul and Kyonggi Province. As for the reason for the purchase of foundation garments, It was found that the highest proportion of the responding adult women would buy brassieres when they were needed because the old ones were threadbare, followed by the purchase of brassiere when they caught their eyes in shopping around. As for the reason for the purchase of girdles, the highest proportion of the responding adult women could buy girdles when they were needed because their old ones were wornout, and next when bargain sale began at the department store or the large shopping center. The highest proportion of the responding adult women thought the source of information on foundation garments as the window display, followed by magazine. The adult women in their 30s collected information on foundation garments through the window display when buying brassieres or girdles. As for the product evaluation criteria of foundation garments, the highest proportion of the responding adult women thought highly of the feeling of wear in brassieres and girdles, followed by dimensions in brassieres and bodily correctability in girdles. As for the place of buying brassieres or girdles, the responding adult women showed it to be the department store. followed by the discount store and the well-known agency.

The study investigated the effects of five commercial body shaping foundation items on clothing pressure, blood flow, body shaping effectiveness, and wearer satisfaction for middle-aged women. The study measured clothing pressure at each of the 10 designated measurement points for twelve subjects wearing the foundations. Blood flow changes were recorded and body shaping effectiveness was analyzed by comparing differences in girth when wearing and not wearing the foundations. The subjects rated wearer comfort along a 7-point Likert scale. The results were that clothing pressure was present at all measurement points, and all foundations placed the least pressure on the anterior underbust girth. In addition, clothing pressure was high in the order of the lateral, posterior, and anterior areas. As clothing pressure increased, blood flow and velocity decreased and overall wearer satisfaction was assessed to be less comfortable. Body shaping effectiveness was evident across all the items, as all decreased girth measurements significantly. In conclusion, the appropriate level of clothing pressure provided by experimental foundations which is positive for blood flow and has an excellent body shaping effect was found to be between 0.53 and 1.77 kPa.

파우더 파운데이션은 사용이 간편하고 수정화장이 용이하여 고객들이 많이 사용하고 있으며, 파우더 파운데이션을 만드는 방법은 건식방식, 소성방식, 그리고 습식방법으로 크게 분류할 수가 있다. 이 중 습식방법은 이미 잘 알려진 바와 같이 back injection 방법과 front injection 방법이 있으며, 본 논문에서는 front injection 방법을 사용해 실험을 진행하였다. 실험결과 용매의 종류에 따른 경도 변화를 살펴보면 휘발성 실리콘이나 탄화수소계 휘발성 물질을 이용할 때 보다 정제수를 이용할 때 경도가 높게 나타났으며, 사용감 측면에서는 물보다는 탄화수소계 휘발성 물질과 휘발성 실리콘 등을 사용했을 때, 고객 선호도가 높게 나타났다. 또한 코팅물질 변화에 따른 경도 변화로는 아미노산계 코팅물질을 사용하였을 때 경도가 상승하는 효과를 나타냈으며, 실리콘 코팅 물질을 사용했을 때 경도 상승효과가 미비한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 각 대상 고객에 맞는 처방을 개발하고자 할 때 사용감과 경도의 상관관계를 알고, 처방설계에 이용한다면 고객이 원하는 사용감에 한발 더 접근할 수 있으리라 생각된다.

감촉 및 광학적 요소는 파우다 파운데이션에 있어서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 이러한 감촉과 광학적인 요소를 동시에 만족하는 분체에 관심을 가지고 다양한 소재 및 제조방법을 연구 중에 바륨설페이트를 기본 입자로 하는 복합화 된 분체를 개발하게 되었다. 바륨설페이트는 입자의 모양이 매우 넓고 표면의 굴곡이 없는 판상으로 감촉면에서 부드러운 사용성과 균일한 부착 특성을 나타내며 굴절율도 피부보다 약간 높은 수준으로 인위적이지 않고 자연스러운 광학적 특성을 나타내고 있다. 그러나 파운데이션에서 요구되는 광학적 특성인 자외선 차단능력이나 커버력, 블루밍 효과에 있어서는 기대수준에 못 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 특징은 파우다 파운데이션에서 사용되는 대부분의 분체에 있어서 공통적으로 나타나는 특성으로 감촉적인 측면(소프트, 밀착력 등)과 광학적 측면(커버력, 자외선 차단력 등)을 동시에 만족하는 분체가 극히 드문 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 점을 극복하고자 감촉적인 측면에서 우수한 바륨설페이트를 모입자로 하고 자외선 차단능력과 블루밍에서 우수하나 자체의 응집력이 강하고 사용감이 거친 특징을 나타내고 있는 티타늄디옥사이드를 자입자로 하여 복합화하려 하였다. 이때 중요 요소로 복합화 되는 티타늄디옥사이드의 함량에 따라 복합안료의 감촉적인 측면과 분산력 등이 민감하게 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이에 패널을 이용하여 복합안료의 사용성에 영향을 미치지 않는 수준의 함량을 결정하여 복합화 처리했으며, 사용자가 피부에 도포시 발생되는 피지나 땀에 대한 변색과 사용감을 고려하여 피지나 땀에 강한 발수, 발유 능력을 나타내며 부드러운 감촉의 디메치콘으로 복합안료를 코팅 처리하여 복합분체를 만들게 되었다. 이렇게 만든 복합분체(barium sulfate/TiO$_2$/dimethicone)를 패널을 이용한 테스트와 기기를 이용한 테스트를 실시하여 효과를 검증하게 되었다.

브래지어(Brassiere)는 유방을 중심으로 흉부를 감싸주는 여성용 파운데이션으로 브라(bra), 업리프트(uplipt), 밴도(bandeau)라고도 한다. 또한 브래지어는 유방을 받쳐주고 보호하며, 가슴의 모양을 교정해서 상의의 이상적인 실루엣을 조성해 주는 구실을 한다. 이러한 브래지어는 청결 보호뿐만 아니라 신체보정의 중요한 역할을 하고 있는 여성의 필수적인 속옷으로 최근 현대인들의 생활양식 변화와 소비수준의 향상으로 신체균형에 대한 인식이 대두되면서 아름다운 체형에 대한 관심과 욕구가 강해지고 이로 인해 보정과 기능성을 겸비한 브래지어에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있는 실정이다. This research was intended to design an experimental girdle with thermal insulation function for adult women in their 20s. The design of the experimental girdle was based on the pattern of commercially available girdle. The final pattern of the experimental girdle was established according to the drawing equations determined based on the result of appearance evaluation. The equations were (waist circumference${\times}0.88$)/2 for waist circumference, (hip circumference${\times}0.77$)/2 for hip circumference, and (thigh circumference${\times}0.85$) for thigh circumference. In order to develop a heating device, the most effective fabric heater was adopted based on the experiments about the number of caron fibers, heater size and attachment site. Three heaters-one with a size of $14.5{\times}9.5$ cm, and the other two with the size of $8.0{\times}15.0$ cm-were attached to the areas corresponding to the lower abdomen and the hip, 5 cm below the waist. A heater was developed by connecting these heaters to a controller, 2 batteries (7.4 V 2000 mAh lithium polymer batteries) and a switch (for mode conversion between high/medium/low temperatures). The heater was integrated into the inside of the girdle, so that attachment and detachment were possible without the change of appearance. The tentative configuration plan was proposed for the development of a functional smart girdle with an excellent thermal insulation effect.

This study carefully explored today's preferable beauty images, analyzed Korean adult purchasing trends of functional underwear and market analysis of the most popular items and their designs. Information and methods are based largely on reference book material as well as analysis of real domestic data. The paper's research timeline simply spans the last three years, as in accordance with project parameters. Helping improve body shape, foundation literally means 'substructur' and 'base'. The formativeness in these adult foundations typically has three main category classifications. First, natural modern image. This is where we find natural beauty including that which embodies a cool modern sense. Here, you can often see such patterns as either stripes and dots, or simply no patterns at all. Colors are green, red-brown, incarnadine, or khaki from a natural or basic human body color. Its products are marketed as both solid and durable eco-friendly materials, and lace-seethrough. Fashion's natural modern image is undoubtedly the most popular style purchase choice among both genders. Second, sweet romantic image. This mainly consists of two concepts : a sweet and romantic theme, and visual appeal. Patterns include flowers, lips, heart, stars, candies and various other appealing characters. Its main colors are pink, yellow, red, purple, and violet. Products are decorated with laces, frills and ribbons. Since only men's semi-girdles carry such designs, this fashion foundation is largely a women's world. While men show an obvious interest in foundation, they still mostly prefer the choice of natural modern images. Third, mystic sexy image. This is defined as all feminine images of mysterious and classic sexual beauty. Patterns are variously expressed as paisley, flowers, and geometric. Colors are largely purple, blue-green, royal-blue, cobalt, and black. Products are commonly decorated with beading, spangles, hot-fixes and so on. While this image can be found in all kinds of women's foundations, it typically appears only in men's corsets and girdles.

The development of foundation garment pattern on the typical adult women's body was carried out. By means of the flatted body surface shell, the foundation garment pattern was developed. And its fitting test also performed. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. The investigated Foundation basic pattern was made by the allowing the maximum bust size without any surplus since it was based on the tight-fitted model drawing technique. The investigated the completed pattern was designed in three parts of front and back body, including bust. 2. The result showed by overlapping the torso basic pattern foundation and body surface development selected from body almost the same except for the shift of dart position. 3. The result by overlapping basic pattern 3 existing basic patterns. On the basis of top-bust line showed that the setting up the volume of dart of bust and its waist affect the appearance of model. Especially, it was found that the above result was related to the bust and under bust line. 4. The result of the wearing test of 3 existing basic patterns and basic pattern of this study revealed that the mean values of whole items were higher than average in type P and type E. The fitting & position of under-bust line and extent of wrapping bust showed the high points in the current study and type of P. The result of evaluating the whole appearance in three points(front, side, back) showed different according to the every basic foundation garment pattern.
