Suggestion of a New Method of Computing Percentage of Victories for the Korean Professional Baseball (한국 프로야구에서 새로운 승률제의 제안)

  • Team standings in the regular professional baseball league should be determined based on a reasonable criterion; however, an unreasonable Japanese method is being used in Korea as of 2011. In this paper, we suggest a new method of computing the percentage of victories constructed by combining the advantages of the methods to determine team standings used in Korean professional baseball. We also have applied preexistent methods and suggested method to past and present Korean professional baseball data.

  • The Pythagorean theorem for baseball based on the number of runs they scored and allowed has been noted that in many baseball leagues a good predictor of a team's end of season won-loss percentage. We study the convergence characteristics of the Pythagorean expectation formula during the baseball game season. The three way ANOVA based on main effects for year, rank, and baseball processing rate is conducted on the basis of using the historical data of Korean professional baseball clubs from season 2005 to 2014. We perform a regression analysis in order to predict the difference in winning percentage between teams. In conclusion, a difference in winning percentage is mainly associated with the ranking of teams and baseball processing rate.

  • Since 2009, a new method of computing the percentage of victories is being used in the regular league of the Korean professional baseball. This method produced enormous results from the first year of application, and also had an effect on the team standings in 2010. In this paper, we have examined the effects this method had on the Korean professional baseball in 2009 and 2010. We also have discussed what the Korea Baseball Organization need to complement in using this method and suggested complementary measures.

  • In Korean professional baseball the championship team of the year is determined by the four series of games: semi-semi-playoff, semi-playoff, playoff and korean series. To the top 5 teams in a regular season privileges are given to play the games at post season. At semi-semi playoff the winner of two teams which are ranked at 4th and 5th place in the regular season can advance to the game of semi playoff. The winner at semi playoff advances to the playoff to play with the second place team in the regular season. Finally, the championship team is to be determined in the Korean series between the winner of the playoff and the first ranked team in the regular season. We propose methods of how to calculate the winning probabilities of each of high ranked 5 teams advancing to Korean series. From our proposed methods we can estimate the championship probabilities of each of high ranked 5 teams advancing to the Korean series only if we know the winning probabilities between two teams in the regular season or the post season.

Investment Priorities and Weight Differences of Impact Investors (임팩트 투자자의 투자 우선순위와 비중 차이에 관한 연구)

  • In recent years, the need for social ventures that aim to grow while solving social problems through the efficiency and effectiveness of commercial organizations in the market has increased, while there is a limit to how much the government and the public can do to solve social problems. Against this background, the number of social venture startups is increasing in the domestic startup ecosystem, and interest in impact investors, which are investors in social ventures, is also increasing. Therefore, this research utilized judgment analysis technology to objectively analyze the validity and weight of judgment information based on the cognitive process and decision-making environment in the investment decision-making of impact investors. We proceeded with the research by constructing three classifications; first, investment priorities at the initial investment stage for financial benefit and return on investment as an investor, second, the political skills of the entrepreneurs (teams) for the social impact and ripple power, and social venture coexistence and solidarity, third, the social mission of a social venture that meets the purpose of an impact investment fund. As a result of this research, first of all, the investment decision-making priorities of impact investors are the expertise of the entrepreneur (team), the potential rate of return when the entrepreneur (team) succeeds, and the social mission of the entrepreneur (team). Second, impact investors do not have a uniform understanding of the investment decision-making factors, and the factors that determine investment decisions are different, and there are differences in the degree of the weighting. Third, among the various investment decision-making factors of impact investment, "entrepreneur's (team's) networking ability", "entrepreneur's (team's) social insight", "entrepreneur's (team's) interpersonal influence" was relatively lower than the other four factors. The practical contribution through this research is to help social ventures understand the investment determinant factors of impact investors in the process of financing, and impact investors can be expected to improve the quality of investment decision-making by referring to the judgment cases and analysis of impact investors. The academic contribution is that it empirically investigated the investment priorities and weighting differences of impact investors.

임팩트 투자의사 결정요인에 관한 연구

  • 임팩트 투자(impact investment)는 사회적 가치와 재무적 이익을 동시에 추구하는 소셜벤처에 투자하는 행위이다. 그동안 국내에서는 정부 주도로 임팩트 투자 생태계가 조성되고 성장하였다. 선순환 투자 생태계를 위해서는 소셜벤처가 가지는 사회혁신의 가치와 임팩트 투자의 연계가 중요하다. 사회적 형평과 시장의 효율의 두 가치 중심으로 수요와 공급이 맞는 임팩트 투자에 대한 이해가 필수적이다. 특히, 임팩트 투자 지원정책과 투자가 공공에서 민간으로 확대되는 시점에서 임팩트 투자의사 결정요인을 규명하는 차별화된 접근이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 임팩트 투자의사 결정요인을 분석하고 우선순위를 도출하고자 하였다. 먼저 문헌분석을 통해 투자 결정에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하고 임팩트 투자 심사역을 대상으로 자문·설문조사를 수행한 뒤, 델파이 기법을 적용하여 주요 투자의사 결정요인을 도출하였다. 다음으로는 임팩트 투자 심사역 10명을 대상으로 AHP분석을 실시하여 투자의사 결정요인의 우선순위를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 상위요인의 중요도는 시장-창업가(팀)-제품·서비스-재무의 순서로 확인되었으며, 세부요인의 중요도는 '시장의 경쟁강도 및 진입장벽-시장성장 및 확장 가능성-팀의 전문성 및 역량-신시장 창출 가능성-영업활동 및 고객관리-창업가의 신뢰성 및 진정성의 순서로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 임팩트 투자에 대한 지원정책과 투자가 공공에서 민간으로 확대되는 시점에서 고유한 투자의사 결정요인을 규명하여 투자를 희망하는 이해관계자들에게 기초 자료를 제시했다는 데 의의가 있다.

Spectrum-Band Prioritization Scheme for Establishing Efficient Spectrum-Use Policy (효율적 주파수 이용 정책 개발을 위한 주파수 대역 이용효율개선 우선순위 평가 방안)

  • As the spectrum demand increases, securing spectrum resources in a timely manner becomes necessary. This paper proposes a spectrum-band prioritization scheme for establishing an efficient spectrum-use policy. The criteria for spectrum-band prioritization are derived from articles of the Radio Waves Act, and a four-level matrix for priority evaluation is proposed, considering both demand urgency and supply ease. The prioritization processes and items to consider for measuring each criteria are also proposed in order to implement the proposed prioritization scheme. It is expected that the proposed scheme can help secure the spectrum in a timely manner, protect incumbent users properly, and promote new spectrum-based businesses.

  • This study is key competence port logistics companies analyze the priorities of evaluation factors. key competence index of NCS(National competency standard) was designed on the basis of the research model. The priorities of evaluation factors were analyzed using AHP method. The results of the analysis of 1 layer's key competence priorities are as follows: Interpersonal skills(0.217), communication skills(0.153), ability to develop problem(0.148), ability to understand the organization(0.103), and resource management skills(0.090), self-development ability and professional ethics(0.070), information skills(0.065), technical skills(0.049), numeracy skills(0.035).

  • This study aimed to identify priorities in community pharmacist's roles in aged society using Analytic Hierarchy Process. We developed a survey questionnaire for AHP, which consisted of 19 pharmacist's roles selected from the FIP/WHO guidelines. The AHP survey questionnaire was self-administered by 127 pharmacists. The results showed that pharmacists put medication therapy management at the highest priority, preparation, dispense, distribution of medication at the second priority, and efficient healthcare system at the lowest priority. Among the 19 roles, new roles such as monitoring of medication therapy results, team-based health care, and transitions of care obtained relatively high priority.

A Study on the Win-Loss Prediction Analysis of Korean Professional Baseball by Artificial Intelligence Model (인공지능 모델에 따른 한국 프로야구의 승패 예측 분석에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we conducted a study on the win-loss predicton analysis of korean professional baseball by artificial intelligence models. Based on the model, we predicted the winner as well as each team's final rank in the league. Additionally, we developed a website for viewers' understanding. In each game's first, third, and fifth inning, we analyze to select the best model that performs the highest accuracy and minimizes errors. Based on the result, we generate the rankings. We used the predicted data started from May 5, the season's opening day, to August 30, 2020 to generate the rankings. In the games which Kia Tigers did not play, however, we used actual games' results in the data. KNN and AdaBoost selected the most optimized machine learning model. As a result, we observe a decreasing trend of the predicted results' ranking error as the season progresses. The deep learning model recorded 89% of the model accuracy. It provides the same result of decreasing ranking error trends of the predicted results that we observe in the machine learning model. We estimate that this study's result applies to future KBO predictions as well as other fields. We expect broadcasting enhancements by posting the predicted winning percentage per inning which is generated by AI algorism. We expect this will bring new interest to the KBO fans. Furthermore, the prediction generated at each inning would provide insights to teams so that they can analyze data and come up with successful strategies.
