This paper presented airquality data through data visualization in several ways and described its characteristics related to statistical methods for analysis. Software R was used for visualization tools. The airquality data was measured in New York city from May to September of year 1973. First, simple, exploratory data analysis was done in terms of both data visualization and analysis to find out univariate characteristics. Then through data transformation and multiple regression analysis, model for describing the airquality level was found. Also, after some data categorization, overall feature of the data was explored using box plot and three-dimensional perspective drawing and scatter plot.

Millimeter wave (mmWave) bands are expected to improve date rate of 5G systems due to the wide available bandwidth. While severe path loss in those bands has impeded the utilization, short wavelength enables a large number of antennas packed in a compact form, which can mitigate the path loss. However, estimating the channel with a conventional scheme requires a huge training overhead, hence an efficient estimation scheme operating with a small overhead needs to be developed. The sparsity of mmWave channels caused by the limited scatterers can be exploited to reduce the overhead by utilizing compressed sensing. In this paper, we introduce compressed sensing techniques for mmWave channel estimation. First, we formulate wideband channel estimation into a sparse recovery problem. We also analyze the characteristics of random measurement matrix constructed using quantized phase shifters in terms of mutual incoherence.
Managing GML data in traditional database systems is not efficient since It has not only characteristics of spatial data but also features of (semi) structured n documents. XML enabled database systems can manage U data efficiently, however they cannot handle spatial data. Spatial database systems are good at spatial data handling but those are inefficient for XML data. This paper proposes a storage method of GML data for spatial database systems in order to solve the problems. The proposed method generates spatial database schemas from GML application schemas and store GML data into SDBMS through the generated schemas. A prototype of the storage method has been implemented on the Postgre SQ/SPE system to show the proposed method is appropriate for storing GML data. As a result, the implemented system was able to store various GML data which had diverse XML structures and different size. Stored data size was smaller than GML files. Furthermore, spatial, non-spatial, and mixed content queries could be performed over the stored GML data as quickly.

In this paper, we design and implement a graphical bio-ontology management system based on OWL(Web Ontology Language). It allows domain experts to easily manage sophisticated bio-ontologies in which biological knowledge is encoded. The knowledge can be seamlessly modeled into the ontology by well defined graphical notations, which capture most of subtle semantics inherently existing between biological terms. Our system provides a new construction mechanism, which can determine a considerable part of relationships between terms by their inheritance and inverse-inheritance. For keeping their semantics to be consistent, the mechanism supplies domain experts with information available from relationships being constructed or already constructed. The constructed ontology is basically formatted by OWL, which may benefit from its powerful semantic expressiveness. Additionally, it can be automatically translated into other standard languages without semantic loss, such as RDF/RDFS, DAML+OIL and so on. The main characteristics of our system is that it enables domain experts to delicately model the bio-ontology by the visualized construction mechanisms adopting well-defined graphical notations based on OWL.

In this paper, to improve the classification accuracy of bird and amphibian acoustic sound, we utilize GLU (Gated Linear Unit) and Self-attention that encourages the network to extract important features from data and discriminate relevant important frames from all the input sequences for further performance improvement. To utilize acoustic data, we convert 1-D acoustic data to a log-Mel spectrogram. Subsequently, undesirable component such as background noise in the log-Mel spectrogram is reduced by GLU. Then, we employ the proposed temporal self-attention to improve classification accuracy. The data consist of 6-species of birds, 8-species of amphibians including endangered species in the natural environment. As a result, our proposed method is shown to achieve an accuracy of 91 % with bird data and 93 % with amphibian data. Overall, an improvement of about 6 % ~ 7 % accuracy in performance is achieved compared to the existing algorithms.

In this paper, we apply a set of algorithms to classily normal and cancer nucleus from uterine cervical pap-smear images. First, we use lightening compensation algorithm to restore color images that have defamation through the process of obtaining $1{\times}400$ microscope magnification. Then, we remove the background from images with the histogram distributions of RGB regions. We extract nucleus areas from candidates by applying histogram brightness, Kapur method, and our own 8-direction contour tracing algorithm. Various binarization, cumulative entropy, masking algorithms are used in that process. Then, we are able to recognize normal and cancer nucleus from those areas by using three morphological features - directional information, the size of nucleus, and area ratio - with fuzzy membership functions and deciding rules we devised. The experimental result shows our method has low false recognition rate.
Tracking, which is one of main reasons of the electric fire, progresses gradually, and therefore, the possibility of fire caused by tracking can be predicted by analyzing the stage of its progress. This paper is conducted in order to predict possibility of the electric fire caused by the tracking in the simulated electric equipment with load. Non-inductive resistance is used as the load. The tracking is happened in a Polyvinyl-chloride-sheathed flat cord, which is a part of the simulated electric equipment by means of dropping of electrolyte droplet. In order to predict the possibility of electric fire caused by tracking, we detect the whole current waveforms of the simulated electric equipment. The time-energy analysis and probability distribution are used for analysis of the tracking progress from the whole current waveforms. In accordance with the results is used for input date of Neural networks, the neural networks can be predict possibility of the electric fire in the electric equipment by 4 stages.

GSIS is a system that contains spatially referenced data that can be analyzed and converted to information for a specific set of purpose, or application. The key feature of a GSIS is the analysis of data to produce new information. The current emphasis in the transportation is to implement GSIS in conjunction with real time systems Requirements for a transportation GSIS are very different from the traditional GSIS software that has been designed for environmental and natural resource applications. A transportation GSIS may need to include the ability for franc volume, forecasting, pavement management A regional transportation planning model is actually a set of models that are used to inventory and then forecast a region's population, employment, income, housing and the demand of automobile and transit in a region. The data such as adminstration bound, m of landuse, road networks, location of schools, offices with populations are used in this paper. Many of these data are used for analyzing of traffic volume, traffic demand, time of mad construction using GSIS.
Active studies are under way on telemedicine and medical support based on mobile devices in order to vitalize U-Healthcare. Especially when the medical law is revised to allow a remote prescription system, studies on a mobile prescription system will rapidly increase. And yet since mobile apps have less compatibility due to the nature of mobile platform, there is a restriction that they have to be redeveloped to be compatible with the platform. To compensate this problem, this study designs a mobile web prescription interface by using HLTML5, the standard language of mobile web development and jQuery Mobile, a JavaScript Library. It also adds a feature of converting to a form of standard protocol HL7-based messages to share data with existing hospital information system. This interface makes it possible to be interlocked with the existing hospital information system through the transmission of the HL7 messages. The advantage of the proposed system is that it can be used in various environments since it is independent of mobile platforms and compatible with general computers.

Deinterlacing is the conversion from interlaced to progressive scan image that is considered to be 2 times image interpolation. In this paper, the simple and effective deinterlacing method is proposed based on the local gradient information of neighborhood pixels. In the proposed method, the weights for directions around the pixel to be interpolated are estimated, and the weighted sum for the neighborhood pixels is the final intensity value of the pixel to be interpolated. The proposed method has the structure suitable to practical implementation and can avoid the artifacts due to the wrong detection of edge direction. In the simulation, it showed improved subjective and objective performance than the ELA method and comparable performance compared with the variation of ELA method which has more complex structure and requires a couple of parameters that is determined by experience.
