  • The purpose of this study was to examine the physical environmental readiness for smart learning and the actual utilization of smart devices by special education teachers, and to suggest ways to vitalize smart education. For this, a 14-item survey questionnaire was developed, which touched upon issues regarding the availability of wireless internet service and teachers' utilization of smart devices. An online survey was conducted among a randomly chosen sample of 991 special education teachers across the nation, including teachers who work at special schools for developmentally disabled students and in special classes at all three levels of regular schools. The collected data was analyzed with the method of a cross-time-frequency analysis using a SPSS 21.0 statistics program. The research findings indicated that both special schools and classes had a poor smart education environment and that special education teachers were having a harding time because of the lack of the infrastructure and additional expenses. In addition, special education teachers were found to use smart device mostly for the purpose of motivating students. These research findings propose that it is urgent to set up a proper smart education environment for special needs students and to provide a systematic training program for special education teachers.

In the case of South Korea, through reforming the law on March 2005 that therapist educator has to be allocated on the special class in general school, at least, patrol teacher is charged on that, which made possible to start music therapy as initial stage was realized in realistic way on the spot of school. This research has primary concerns as following. The one thing is intended that figuring the opinions of special educators and music therapists involved with the music therapy in elementary school. And the other thing is intended that making a investigation of actual condition on the spot of existing school, moreover, pinpointing at issue and suggesting the change for the better than now. In order to undertake theses intentions, I examined preceding researches and existing data, distributed the questionnaire involved the music therapy of elementary school to the people who are composed of special educators-65 persons and music therapists-30 persons from 18th October to second of November, and analyzed collected by descriptive statistics. According to the analyzed results, it says that special educator and music therapist know well about the necessity of music therapy in elementary school and its effectiveness is manifested in positive way. Moreover, in order to systemize and promote a program of music therapy, what is most urgent thing is the completion of instrument and music therapy room and there are needed strong supports at the level of nation and institution. It has become pervasive on the demand of therapy education by parents in all of the places involved with disabled children such as special school, special class, local welfare community, and early education. • This study is to understand the situations of special education classroom layout, find differences according to school levels and summarize the findings in order to build up the indicators for special classroom layout. As for elementary school level, special classrooms are using multi-purposes desk or group desk for diverse activities such as basic learning and formation of basic life practice. The most frequent type in classroom layout is Type E which is for diverse coner-learning and play activities and the next is Type C which secures activity space. Because security of dynamic activity which most teachers find problematic is important, it needs more research to secure dynamic activity space within classroom. As for middle school level, the most frequent type in classroom layout is Type B which is equiped for computer aided learning and the next is Type C which secures activity space. Research for systematic layout of activity space is needed in order to secure the spaces of dynamic activity and basic job training. As for high school levels, mostly Type B which emphasizes computer activities is adopted and next is Type F which is capable for job training. The survey about the size of special education classroom proves that most teachers want one and half size classroom which in not such a large classroom. It is expected that more systematic research of special classroom layout according to school levels may reach for rational space layout.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and to explore the possibility of the virtual reality based communication training program(VR-CTP) for students with intellectual disabilities. To do this, sentences and dialogue of program were extracted from the National Common Basic Curriculum of Special School and the contents design of program were developed based on the consultation by special education experts. To explore the possibility of applying the VR-CTP, a usability evaluation was conducted with 30 special school teachers and 44 students with intellectual disabilities. The results showed that the VR-CTP had a high level of usability as the special school teachers received 4.23 and the students with intellectual disabilities received 4.44 out of 5. But there is no difference of usability evaluation on the special teachers' school level and teaching experiences without arrangement of school. Also, there is no difference of usability evaluation on the students' IQ, school level, and arrangement of school. As a result of this study, we can draw a conclusion that there is a possibility of applying the VR-CTP to language education for students with intellectual disabilities.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify various factors that could possibly influence special teachers' adoption intention towards robot-based education and to see how well those factors predict special teachers' adoption intention. To do this, questionnaire items were selected and reconstructed based on preceding research relating to Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). The survey participants consisted of 623 special school teachers, representing various types of special students and levels of their schools. Questionnaires with unfaithful responses were excluded, and a total of 590 questionnaires were analyzed. Data analysis was carried out through Exploratory factor analysis and stepwise multi-regression analysis. According to the results of study, factors that influence special teachers' acceptance intention towards robot-based education are perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, personal innovation, and social influence. Also, the most decisive factors affecting special teacher's acceptance intention were perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. These factors directly influenced special teachers' acceptance intention.
