본 논문은 유비쿼터스 환경에서 지식 기반 멀티미디어 추론 방법 및 그 추론 과정에서 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 검색을 위한 모델을 제안한다. 따라서 이러한 시스템을 구현하기 위해서 우리는 다음과 같은 내용에 대해 기술한다. 첫 번째, Follow Me 시나리오와 같은 상황 인식에 필요한 지식 표현 및 추론 방법에 대해 기술한다. 두 번째, 다양한 멀티미디어 디바이스들의 프로파일에 따른 추론 및 검색 방법에 대해 기술 한다. 세 번째, 이질적으로 기술되어 있는 멀티미디어 데이터에이스에 대해 상호운용성을 갖는 시스템에 대해 기술한다. 마지막으로 위의 3가지 개념일 대한 통합 시스템 및 그에 따른 구현 평가에 대해 기술한다.

Meta search engines have been used as the first engine because they let users several search engines at once for their queries and give them the search results. The purpose of this study is to examine the features and functions of 17 meta search engines in order that it helps users select and execute effective searches on meta search engines. Each selected engine is analyzed based on the criteria evaluating both meta search engines and general search engines. The results show that each meta search engine has its own characteristics while there are common features among them. It is expected that the results of this study will help users utilize meta search engines and provide meta search engine designer basic ideas.

본 논문에서는 분산된 XML 문서를 수집 처리하여 상호 제공하는 과정에서 활용될 통합된 XML 문서의 전역 스키마를 생성하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템에서는 분산 환경에 존재하는 개별적인 XML 문서들에 대한 지역 스키마 정보를 관계형 데이터베이스로 구축하고, 통합된 XML 문서의 데이터를 기반으로 각각의 지역 스키마 데이터베이스를 검색한 후 데이터에 적합한 스키마 정의를 추출하게 된다. 또한 추출과정에서 중복 정의에 의한 충돌 범주를 분석하고, 이를 해결하는 방법도 제시하였다. 시스템 모델링 결과 XML 문서의 구조와 검증을 명확하게 보장하는 통합된 XHL 문서의 전역 스키마 생성과 지역 스키마간 발생되는 충돌문제 해결이 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

도면 수가 증가함에 따라 도면을 체계적으로 분류, 저장, 검색, 수정 또는 생 성하는 효율적인 시스템이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 요구를 만 족하고 각 생산 부서들과 중앙 관리 부서간의 신속한 정보의 공유 및 검색 이 가능하도록 하기 위하여 통합제조정보시스템의 한 부분인 도면정보 관리 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 SUN SPARC II Workstation에서 개발되 었다. 소프트웨어로는 도면의 저장, 관리를 위해 CIMLINC사의 CICMCAD 2D를, 도면관련정보를 위해 Relational DBMS인 ORACLE을 사용하였다. 그 리고 이들의 정보를 통합하고 화면에 나타내기 위하여 CIMLINC사의 LINKAGE라는 Multi-Media용 소프트웨어를 이용하였다. LINKAGE 내에서 는 CIMSHELL이라는 내부 언어와 SQL*PLUS를 이용하여 각종 기능을 개 발하였다. 개발 내용으로는 신규도면작성(new drawing), 수정(edit), 도면조 회(search)기능이 있다.

정보통신 및 무선 통신기기의 발달과 더불어 원격지에서 환자를 진단하고 치료하는 원격 진료 시스템에 관한 연구가 전 세계적으로 활발히 진행 중이다. 특히 서로 다른 기관으로부터의 분산된 의료 정보들 간의 통신을 위해서는 데이터를 통할시키는 것이 급선무다. 본 연구는 분산된 이질적인 의료 정보의 효과적인 관리를 위해 통합 메타데이터 카탈로그를 통한 검색 엔진을 설계하는데 중점을 두었다. 이를 통해 각 병원 데이터 형식의 일괄적인 변환 없이도 통찰 검색 환경을 사용할 수 있으며, 향후 시스템 개발에 있어서도 확장성이 용이하다.

Moving picture has become the important media in education with expanded e-learning paradigm, but Korea Educational Metadata has limitation about representing information of lots of events and objects in moving picture. Announcing the MPEG-7 specification the information of lots of events and objects in it can be presented in terms of semantic and structural description of moving pictures. In this paper moving picture searching system model that integrates two metadata specifications, such as KEM and MPEG-7, is proposed. In this model one ontology to combine two metadata specifications is designed, and the other ontology about knowledge of a subject matter is added to search efficiently in searching system. As some moving picture data from Edunet were selected and stored in our server, our prototype of searching system using MPEG-7 and KEM shows the results that we are expected.

Query logs are online records that capture user interactions with information retrieval systems and all the search processes. Query log analysis offers ad advantage of providing reasonable and unobtrusive means of collecting search information from a large number of users. In this paper, query logs of NAVER, a major Korean Internet search service, were analyzed to investigate the information seeking behabior of NAVER users. The query logs were collected over one week from various collecions such as comprehensive search, directory search and web ducument searc. It is expected that this study could contribute to the development and implementation of more effective web search systems and services.

This study aims to investigate characteristics of most clicked documents of Naver's universal search service. In particular, this study analyzed characteristics of most clicked documents such as click ratio, collection distribution, and yearly distribution. Also, clicked documents were evaluated in terms of relevance, credibility, and currency. In conducting this study, query logs and click logs of unified search service were analyzed. The results of this study show that most clicks occurred in blog collection and average click concentration rate reached almost 50%. Also, the relevance and currency of most clicked documents were quite high, but credibility of these documents were on average level. The results of this study can be implemented to the portal's effective development of searching algorithm and interface.

최근 멀티미디어 자료(Multimedia Data)들을 이용한 멀티미디어 상연물(Multimedia Presentation)의 제작에 많은 관심이 쏟아지고 있다. 한편, 멀티미디어 상연물들의 효과적인 사용을 위해서는 멀티미디어 상연물과 데이터베이스 시스템(Database System)의 통합(Integration)이 필요하며 이에 그래프 타입(Graph Type)을 이용하여 표현되고 있는 멀티미디어 상연물의 검색을 위한 검색 언어(Query Language)의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 검색언어는 멀티미디어 자료들의 물리적 특징과 내용(Content), 상연물을 표현하는 데이터 타입(Data Type)을 표현할 수 있어야 한다. 또한 검색 언어는 사용자(end-user)가 손쉽게 사용할 수 있어야 한다. 이에 앞서 언급된 멀티미디어 상연물 검색 언어가 갖추어야할 요소들을 가지고 있으며 또한 사용자가 편리(user-friendly)하게 사용하는 visual language의 formal basis가 되는 calculus에 바탕을 둔 검색 언어인 GCaluculus/S를 소개한다.

본 연구는 대학의 다양한 정보시스템을 단일의 통합인증을 통하여 통합검색을 제공하고 학내구성원 그룹별에 따라 개별화 맞춤형 정보를 제공하는 대학 종합정보서비스의 포털 구축을 제안하였다. 특히 웹 기반 하에 대학정보화의 종합정보서비스와 단일 게이트를 수용하는 대학 종합정보서비스의 포털 모형으로 구축방안을 제시하였다.
