Three-Dimensional Active Shape Models for Medical Image Segmentation (의료영상 분할을 위한 3차원 능동 모양 모델)

  • In this paper, we propose a three-dimensional(3D) active shape models for medical image segmentation. In order to build a 3D shape model, we need to generate a point distribution model(PDM) and select corresponding landmarks in all the training shapes. The manual determination method, two-dimensional(2D) method, and limited 3D method of landmark correspondences are time-consuming, tedious, and error-prone. In this paper, we generate a 3D statistical shape model using the 3D model generation method of a distance transform and a tetrahedron method for landmarking. After generating the 3D model, we extend the shape model training and gray-level model training of 2D active shape models(ASMs) and we use the integrated modeling process with scale and gray-level models for the appearance profile to represent the local structure. Experimental results are comparable to those of region-based, contour-based methods, and 2D ASMs.

Identification of Uncertainty in Fitting Rating Curve with Bayesian Regression (베이지안 회귀분석을 이용한 수위-유량 관계곡선의 불확실성 분석)

  • This study employs Bayesian regression analysis for fitting discharge rating curves. The parameter estimates using the Bayesian regression analysis were compared to ordinary least square method using the t-distribution. In these comparisons, the mean values from the t-distribution and the Bayesian regression are not significantly different. However, the difference between upper and lower limits are remarkably reduced with the Bayesian regression. Therefore, from the point of view of uncertainty analysis, the Bayesian regression is more attractive than the conventional method based on a t-distribution because the data size at the site of interest is typically insufficient to estimate the parameters in rating curve. The merits and demerits of the two types of estimation methods are analyzed through the statistical simulation considering heteroscedasticity. The validation of the Bayesian regression is also performed using real stage-discharge data which were observed at 5 gauges on the Anyangcheon basin. Because the true parameters at 5 gauges are unknown, the quantitative accuracy of the Bayesian regression can not be assessed. However, it can be suggested that the uncertainty in rating curves at 5 gauges be reduced by Bayesian regression.

Analysis on Statistical Characteristic Changes due to the Analysis Periods of Non-Tidal Components Data in the East Coast of Korea (분석기간의 길이에 따른 동해안 비조석성분의 통계적 특성변화 분석)

  • Statistical characteristic analysis was carried out using the non-tidal components computed by the harmonic analysis of the tidal elevation data in East coast. The tide gauging stations included in this study are the Sokcho, Mukho, Hupo, Pohang, Ulsan and Ulreungdo stations. In this study, the variance and skewness coefficient (SC) information changes, i.e., the max. value, min. value, mean and standard deviation of the variance and SC, are compared and analysed in detail by the various analysis periods increased from one year to the maximum available period. Based on the result of the statistical information (SI) range analysis, the minimum analysis period required in order to satisfy the confidence interval of the ${\pm}5%$ range of the variance and the ${\pm}0.1$ range of the SC is suggested as the 12 years, except the Ulreungdo stations. The auto-correlation and spectral density change patterns show the very similar shapes in every stations even though the absolute values are a little bit different each other.

  • As the importance of Cooperative Engagement Capability and network-centric warfare has been dramatically increasing, it is necessary to develop distributed tracking systems. Under the development of distributed tracking systems, it requires tracking filters and data fusion theory for nonlinear systems. Therefore, in this paper, the problem of nonlinear track fusion, which is suitable for distributed networks, is formulated, four algorithms to solve the problem of nonlinear track fusion are introduced, and performance of introduced algorithms are analyzed. It is a main problem of nonlinear track fusion that cross-covarinaces among multiple platforms are unknown. Thus, in order to solve the problem, two techniques are introduced; a simplification technique and a approximation technique. The simplification technique that help to ignore cross-covariances includes two algorithms, i.e. the sample mean algorithm and the Millman formula algorithm, and the approximation technique to obtain approximated cross-covariances utilizes two approaches, by using analytical linearization and statistical linearization based on the sigma point approach. In simulations, BCS fusion is the most efficient scheme because it reduces RMSE by approximating cross-covariances with low complexity.

  • A stochastic way using continuous time Markov process is presented to model the one-dimensional nuclide transport in fractured rock matrix as an extended study for previous work [1]. A nuclide migration model by the continuous time Markov process for single planar fractured rock matrix, which is considered as a transient system where a process by which the nuclide is diffused into the rock matrix from the fracture may be no more time homogeneous, is compared with a conventional deterministic analytical solution. The primary desired quantities from a stochastic model are the expected values and variance of the state variables as a function of time. The time-dependent probability distributions of nuclides are presented for each discretized compartment of the medium given intensities of transition. Since this model is discrete in medium space, parameters which affect nuclide transport could be easily incorporated for such heterogeneous media as the fractured rock matrix and the layered porous media. Even though the model developed in this study was shown to be sensitive to the number of discretized compartment showing numerical dispersion as the number of compartments are decreased, with small compensating of dispersion coefficient, the model agrees well to analytical solution.

  • 과학기술 문헌의 기술개체 인식에 관한 연구는 정보추출, 텍스트마이닝, 질의응답 분야 등의 선행 연구로서 다양한 통계적 방법론을 사용하여 기술개체 인식 정확률을 향상시키기 위해 연구되어 왔다. 하지만 기존의 연구는 단일-코어 또는 단일 머신 상에서 수행되었기 때문에, 폭발적으로 증가하는 문헌들에 대한 실시간 분석 요구를 처리할 수 없는 상황에 직면하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기술개체를 인식하는 과정에서 병목현상이 발생하는 작업을 "후보개체 추출 과정"의 언어처리 부분과 "개체 가중치 할당 과정"에서 통계정보를 취합하는 부분으로 분류하고, 각 작업을 하둡의 맵 작업과 리듀스 작업을 이용하여 해결하는 분산 병렬 처리 기반의 기술개체 인식 방법에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

  • The object of this study is to empirically analyze the effects of information support quality and service quality on service satisfaction of department store. To investigate the purpose of this study, literature review and survey were conducted. for statistical analysis, factor analysis, analysis of variance(ANOVA), and regression in order by the contingency grouping method were used. In conclusion of this study are as follows First, The regression analysis had effects on information support quality and service satisfaction. Second, The Analysis of variance(ANOVA) and regression had effects on information support quality and service satisfaction as service quality factors. Result, The information support accuracy and service quality had additional effect about customer relation.

  • This paper deals with a precoder design method when the system has imperfect channel information. When MIMO relay system knows the correlation coefficient between perfect channel and imperfect channel information and the variance of the difference between perfect channel and correlated imperfect channel, source and relay precoders are designed to maximize the upper bound of the channel capacity. Also, we investigate channel capacities of the system using proposed precoder and compare with the optimal value according to the correlation and the variance of error channel by simulations.

분산한계검증(分散限界檢證)을 이용한 한국(韓國) 주식시장(株式市場)의 효율성(效率性) 분석(分析)

  • Shiller에 의하여 개발된 분산한계검증모형(分散限界檢證模型)은 간결하고 명쾌한 모형유도(模型誘導)와 강력한 검증결과(檢證結果)에 의해 주목받아 왔으나 비현실적(非現實的)인 가정(假定)들을 통한 모형설계와 검증통계량(檢證統計量)의 통계적 오류로 검증결과의 신뢰성이 의문시되어 왔다. 이러한 문제점을 제거하기 위한 Mankiw-Romer-Shapiro(MRS)모형(模型) 역시 임의변수(任意變數)의 도입으로 인한 검증력(檢證力) 저하(低下)와 고정기대수익율가정(固定期待收益率假定)의 채택으로 결합가설검증(結合假說檢證) 형태를 취하게 되는 문제점을 드러냈다. 본고(本稿)는 MRS모형(模型)의 문제점을 제거하기 위하여 먼저 Lucas의 균형자산가격모형(均衡資産價格模型)을 이용하여 고정기대수익율가정(固定期待收益率假定)을 완화하였고, 이에 의하여 구해진 변수들을 사용하여 합리적(合理的) 기대이론(期待理論)의 일반관계식(一般關係式)으로부터 새로운 검증모형(檢證模型)을 유도하였다. 1982~92년까지의 종합주가지수(綜合株價指數)와 대응하는 배당액(配當額)의 연도별(年度別) 시계열자료(時系列資料)를 가지고 검증실험을 행하여 본 결과 한국(韓國) 주식시장(株式市場)에서 효율적 시장가설은 기각되었고, 이를 통하여 관련정보(關聯情報)가 시장가격(市場價格)에 제대로 반영되지 않고 있으며, 정보(情報)의 비대칭성(非對稱性)으로 인하여 주식시장은 금융자원(金融資源)의 중개기능(仲介機能)을 효율적으로 수행하지 못하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 한국 주식시장의 효율성을 제고하기 위하여 먼저 시장의 비효율성을 야기하는 요인(要因)들에 대한 분석(分析)과 이 분석을 통한 효율성(效率性) 장애요인(障碍要因)을 제거하는 것이 주식시장에 대한 정부정책(政府政策)의 우선순위(優先順位)가 되어야 할 것이다.

  • Noisy data are often fitted using a smoothing parameter, controlling the importance of two objectives that are opposite to a certain extent. One of these two is smoothness and the other is closeness to the input data. The optimal value of this parameter minimizes the error of the result. This optimum cannot be found exactly, simply because the exact data are unknown. This paper propose the threshold value for noise reduction based on wavelet-thresholding. In the proposed method PSNR results show that the threshold value performs excellently in comparison with conventional methods without knowing the noise variance and volume of signal.
