The empirical study on combining mathematics and statistics into S/W and H/W curriculum (소프트웨어와 하드웨어 교육과정에서 수학/통계를 연계한 실증연구)

  • This paper shows that mathematics and statistics are not only a necessity but a strategic element in contributing for the competitiveness of field of S/W and H/W. First, a survey was conducted to investigate the perceived importance of mathematics and statistics to the specialists of the field. Second, computer programming was implemented in university mathematics courses to understand the educational effect related to problem solving ability. Third, a educational case in which mathematics and statistics in S/W and H/W subject were combined was analyzed. Lastly, an effective plan for mathematics and statistics education in the field of S/W and H/W will be presented.

  • 본 연구에서는 제7차 교육과정에 의하여 발행된 수학I 교과서의 통계단원에 수록된 ICT 소재에 대하여 활용성 및 접근용이성의 측면에서 분석하였다. 즉 각 교과서에 소개된 모든 컴퓨터 프로그램을 실행 시켜 보았으며 그 내용 및 활용의 용이성을 분석하고 소개된 사이트의 폐쇄 여부와 학생들의 활용 가능성에 관하여 조사하였다. 이와 같은 교과서의 비교분석을 통하여 통계 단원의 보완점을 모색하고, 교육현장에서 기본 자료로서 활용하도록 하였다.

  • 최근 과학적 정책결정의 합리성을 뒷받침하기 위해서 통계에 대한 수요가 급증하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 통계 수요자들은 사용자가 필요한 통계표를 직접 실시간적으로 산출하고자 하는 요구를 지속적으로 제기하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 의사결정 및 통계시스템에서 주로 사용하고 있는 데이터웨어하우스, OLAP 시스템 및 스타스키마에 관하여 알아보고 수요자들의 다양한 요구에 부응하기 위한 교육인적자원 통계정보 시스템의 구축에 대해 기술한다. 또한 교육인적자원 통계정보시스템의 핵심기능인 Web OLAP 시스템을 통해서 수요자가 원하는 교육통계정보를 실시간적으로 산출하기 위한 시스템의 구축방안에 대하여 기술하고자 한다.

  • Abstract We can use R package as a statistical package on the statistical education for college students. R is an interactive mode package and graphical presentation tools are powerful in R. The greatest advantage is that R is a general public license package. We need to consider R package as a standard statistical package on the statistical education for college students. We can consider the applications of R for inferential statistics in elementary statistics course.

  • Statistics is based on a data, therefore a practical use of suitable data is important in teaching statistics. But, most teachers feel always that there is seldom data that students can understand easily. In this study, we presented a teaching method of statistics education that can elevate student's participation and interest in their statistics class using a web-based data collection program and MS Excel software. Also, the presented teaching method may apply extending to various part of statistics education.

An Analysis on Teaching of Data Collection in Elementary School Mathematics Textbooks for 3rd and 4th Grades from the Perspective of Statistical Problem Solving Education (통계적 문제해결 교육의 관점에 따른 초등학교 수학 교과서의 자료 수집 지도 방식 분석: 3~4학년군을 중심으로)

  • Data collection is crucial to the process of statistical problem solving since it influences the quality of statistical data. However, there is little instruction on data collection in the Korean mathematics curriculum. In this study, we examined how the data were collected and how the data collection method was taught in the Korean mathematics textbooks for 3rd and 4th grades. As a result, the data appeared in these textbooks were collected by using a variety of methods, including surveys, experiments, observations, and secondary data collections. There were not enough instructions on experiments and observations, compared to surveys and secondary data collection. Additionally, as each textbook works with a distinct contents while teaching data collection, it is expected that there would be variations in the levels that students learn in relation to data collection. Based on these findings, we draw some discussion points to determine how to improve the mathematics curriculum in order to effectively teach data collection in the elementary school.

  • Students, who are studying the field of accounting, have to learn and practice statistics in order to analyze the current social status and to predict the Suture trend. however, students have a strong tendency to avoid the statistics lessons, which are dealing with complicated numbers, mathematics, various equations, and so on. This paper aims to construct a stimulating environment for learning statistics and develop an actual lesson on the Internet, Which students can study by practicing directly. The lesson is fully interactive and visualized by using multimedia technologies. The effectiveness of the experiment is measured by survey questions to the students who used the lesson.

  • With advancement of computer and network, world wide web(WWW) as medium of information communication is generalized in many fields. In educational aspect, applications of WWW as alternative media for class teaching or printed matter are increasing. In this article, we demonstrate a web based electronic text on the 'probability and statistics' which is one of six fields of mathematics in 7th curriculum. This text places importance on comprehension of concepts and fundamentals of probability and statistics as applied sciences and not on simple calculations of probability and statistics.

  • 사회과학 학문을 공부하는 학생들은 현상을 분석하고 미래를 예측하는 기법으로 통계를 많이 사용하고 익혀야 한다. 본 연구에서는 맹목적으로 수치를 다루는 회계 및 통계 학습에서 벗어나 멀티미디어로 흥미를 유발시키고 인터넷상에서 학생들이 직접 실습을 할 수 있는 환경을 구축하여 회계 통계 학습에 도움을 주어 실제 산업체에 적용 가능한 지식을 주고자 한다. 본 연구는 사회과학의 분야에서 어떠한 형태의 자료를 입력하여도 사용자가 바라는 통계를 얻도록 하는데 주안점을 두고 있다. 개발된 멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 통하여 이루어진 학습에 대하여 효과를 측정하여 멀티미디어 기술을 활용한 사회과학 통계교육에 어떤 효과가 있는지를 분석하고자 한다.
