Data analysts sometimes test the equality of two normal population means by the inspection of the overlapping of two confidence intervals. This method seems simple to use; however, it is a common statistical misconception to suppose that two normal means are not significantly different because of no overlapping. This article will present transforming the confidence interval of the mean difference to individual confidence intervals that are visualized to inspect overlapping. It will also be shown that this technique can be extended when comparing the k normal population means with equal variances.

본 연구는 한국 통계청이 수행하는 가계동향조사와 생활시간조사에서 자료처리 과정 및 방법을 혁신하려는 시도로, 기존의 통계 생산 방법론의 한계를 극복하고, 대규모 데이터의 효과적인 관리와 분석을 가능하게 하는 인공지능 기반의 통계 생산을 목표로 한다. 본 연구는 데이터 과학과 통계학의 교차점에서 진행되며, 인공지능 기술, 특히 자연어 처리와 딥러닝을 활용하여 비정형 텍스트 분류 방법의 성능을 검증하며, 인공지능 기반 통계분류 방법론의 확장성과 추가적인 조사 확대 적용의 가능성을 탐구한다. 이 연구의 결과는 통계 데이터의 품질 향상과 신뢰성 증가에 기여하며, 국민의 생활 패턴과 행동에 대한 더 깊고 정확한 이해를 제공한다.

호남지역에 대한 대설특보 예보를 위한 통계모형 개발을 수행하였다. 일 신적설량에 따라 세법주(0: 비발생, 1: 대설주의보, 2: 대설경보)로 구분되는 순서형 자료 형태를 지니고 있다. 두가지 통계 모형(다등급 로지스틱 회귀모형, 신경회로망 모형)을 고려하였으며, 수치모델 출력자료를 이용한 역학-통계모형 기법의 하나인 MOS(model output statistics)를 적용하여 축적된 수치모델 예보자료와 관측치의 관계를 통계모형식으로 추정하여 예측모형을 개발하였다. 군집분석을 사용하여 훈련자료와 검증자료를 구분하였으며, 예보치 생성을 위하여 문턱치를 고려하였다.

본 연구는 미국 쇼핑몰 내에서의 소비자행동에 관한 것으로, 인구통계학적 변수와 소핑가치 및 쇼핑의도와의 관계를 모델검증을 통하여 밝혔다. 우선 쇼핑가치와 쇼핑의도 하위차원의 구조를 살펴보면, 소비자가 인지한 쇼핑가치를 쾌락적 쇼핑가치와 실용적 쇼핑 가치로 구분하였다. 또한 기존연구와는 달리 쇼핑의도 변수에 있어서는 다차원적인 구조의 접근을 시도하여 쇼핑의도의 차원을 경제적, 외식, 기분전환, 서비스 이용 의도로 분류한 모델을 제시하였다. 인구통계학적 변수는 소비자가 인지한 쇼핑가치에 영향을 미치고 쇼핑가치는 소비자의 쇼핑의도에 영향을 미치는 인과적인 모델을 검증해본 결과를 살펴보면, 다음과 같다. 제시된 쇼핑가치 및 쇼핑의도의 차원은 통계적으로 유의하였으며, 인종 및 성별의 인구통계학적 변수는 쇼핑가치에 영향을 미치고 쇼핑가치는 쇼핑의도에 영향을 미치는 모델의 구조 또한 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 실용적 쇼핑 가치의 인지에 있어서 백인과 흑인간의 차이는 없었으나, 쾌락적 쇼핑 가치에서는 차이를 보여 흑인이 백인보다 쾌락적 쇼핑가치를 더욱 느낀 것으로 나타났다. 성별의 차이에서는 쾌락적 쇼핑가치뿐 아니라 실용적 쇼핑가치에서도 여성이 남성보다 더 큰 반응을 보였다. 또한 쾌락적 및 실용적 쇼핑가치 모두 쇼핑의도의 전체 차원들과 정적인 관계가 있는 결과를 보여, 실용적 쾌락적 쇼핑가치를 더욱 인지하면 할수록 경제적, 외식, 기분전환, 서비스 이용의 쇼핑의도 모두 높은 것으로 나타났다.

The statistical modeling of input random variables is necessary in reliability analysis, reliability-based design optimization, and statistical validation and calibration of analysis models of mechanical systems. In statistical modeling methods, there are the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC), AIC correction (AICc), Bayesian Information Criterion, Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE), and Bayesian method. Those methods basically select the best fitted distribution among candidate models by calculating their likelihood function values from a given data set. The number of data or parameters in some methods are considered to identify the distribution types. On the other hand, the engineers in a real field have difficulties in selecting the statistical modeling method to obtain a statistical model of the experimental data because of a lack of knowledge of those methods. In this study, commonly used statistical modeling methods were compared using statistical simulation tests. Their advantages and disadvantages were then analyzed. In the simulation tests, various types of distribution were assumed as populations and the samples were generated randomly from them with different sample sizes. Real engineering data were used to verify each statistical modeling method.

공간통계학에서는 다변량 공간자료에 대한 예측방법으로서 코크리깅 기법을 이용한다. 본 논문에서는 코크리깅을 위한 첫 번째 단계인 교차베리오그램의 추정에 대한 감도분석 대신에 일반통계학적 측면에서 주성분점수를 이용한 감도분석방법을 제안한다. 변수가 2개인 경우, 교차베리오그램에 대한 감조분석의 결과와 제안된 주성분점수를 이용한 감도분석의 결과를 비교해 본다. 모의실험을 통하여 제안한 방법의 타당을 검증하고, 실제 자료를 이용한 사례분석의 결과로써 재확인해 본다.

통계학과를 졸업하는 학생들 중에는 50%이상이 통계학(기초)을 제대로 이해를 못하고 졸업하고 있다는 가설을 검증해본다면 그 결과는 무엇일까? 통계학을 조금 배워본 사람들은 물론이고 통계학과 졸업생들조차 통계학은 난해하기 짝이 없다고 평가를 한다면 이해를 돕는 교육이라기보다는 주입(강요)식 교육이기 때문은 아닌가? 여기서는 확률변수 X를 대문자로 쓰는 것에 유의하고, 소문자 x와 구분하여 사용함으로써 초보자들이 통계이론을 보다 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 하자는 것이다.

이 논문에서는 지구통계학적 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 자료 표현에서의 불확실성이 최종적인 공간통합에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 광물자원 탐사를 위한 공간통합 사례연구를 통해 시뮬레이션 결과에 따라 예측 능력의 차이가 나타남을 확인 할 수 있었으며, 결론적으로 지구통계학적 시뮬레이션이 공간 자료의 불확실성 모델링에 효율적으로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the effects of salesperson's lifestyle, selling behaviors on strategic management of salesperson. So this study not only examines differences in the salesperson's lifestyle, selling behaviors and job satisfaction but also analyses the impact of salespersons' lifestyle and selling behaviors on job satisfaction. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the result of analyzing differences in the lifestyle according to the characteristics of sex, age, academic background income is no significant difference. Second, the result of analyzing differences in the selling behavior according to the characteristics of sex and marriage is significant difference. Third, the result of analyzing differences in the job satisfaction according to the characteristics of store type is significant difference. Salesperson working at the exclusive agencies is most high job satisfaction. According to the result of examining the relationship between salespersons' lifestyle and the selling behaviors, job-oriented lifestyle has positive effects on the customer orientation and hospitality orientation. Finally salespersons' job satisfaction is positively affected by the job-oriented lifestyle and hospitality-orientation selling behavior.
