  • Using information and communication technologies, many firms have increased their productivity. In resource based view, practical use of information and communication technologies is a process of increasing competitive advantage in uncertain environment. However, use of new information and communication technologies does not surely improve the productivity and work efficiency, but sometimes could be a factor to hinder firm performance. Technostress means adverse effect occurring in which the user of new information and communication technologies does not adapt to environment of new technologies. That is, Technostress is a negative impact resulted from using information and communication technologies. This study investigated the effect of technostress on counter-productivity. Unlike the previous studies, this study was made with the survey for firm employees of Daegu region, and both counter-productive work behavior and innovation resistance were used in this study. The empirical result means that technostress positively affects both counter-productive work behavior and innovation resistance. Because technostress increases both counter-productive work behavior and innovation resistance, systematic management for firm employees is needed in time adopting information and communication technologies.

  • The persimmon is commonly cultivated in temperate regions of the world, including China, Korea, Japan, Brazil, Turkey, and Italy. In some Asian cultures, consumers are aware of the health claims related to the persimmon and its functional ingredients. The rich phytochemistry of the persimmon has opened new avenues of research on diet-based regimens designed to cure various ailments. This study was conducted to identify the genotoxicity of immature green persimmon (Diospyros kaki THUNB.) extract (DKA). The bacterial reverse mutation assay, the chromosomal aberration assay, and the mammalian micronucleus test were performed to determine the DKA genotoxicity. The result of the bacterial reverse mutation assay revealed that the DKA did not induce mutagenicity in Salmonella typhimurium TA98, TA100, TA1535, TA1537 and Escherichia coli WP2uvrA with or without metabolic activation of S9 mixture. The oral administration of DKA also caused no significant increase in the number of micronucleated polychromatic erythrocytes or in the mean ratio of polychromatic to total erythrocytes. In addition, DKA did not cause a significant chromosome aberration on CHL cells in the presence or absence of S9 activation. In conclusion, DKA could be considered as a reliable and safe functional food since no toxicity was found under the condition of this study.

  • This study analyzes the performance and characteristics of the fostering policies for the focusing on growth path and type occupied in the Technoparks. First, the companies occupied in the Technoparks have shown the characteristics of landing on an actual growth phase beyond the start-up and fostering phases, and when considering the possession of a dedicated R&D organization and the portion of highly educated technical personnel having masters and doctorate degrees, these companies have also entailed the characteristics of being a technological innovation company. Second, about 30% of the companies that left the Technoparks secured their own factories and offices after standing alone, indicating that the fostering function after startup in the Technoparks has been performing a significant role on the growth path of start-up companies from a temporal perspective. Third, a majority of the companies occupied in the Technoparks were composed of scale-up companies or preliminary scale-up companies that contained promising innovative growth potential. However, it seems to urgently require the acceleration of innovation because many companies are categorized into a stagnated growth type that demonstrates a high R&D investment but low sales revenue growth.

While the Vally was developed as an extension of Daedeok Science Park in Daejeon, it host 400 or so technology-intensive firms. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect data on the firms of the Vally, during January 2010, and obtained 201 completed questionnaires. Additional data, such as sales amount and employment, were collected to measure the changes of firm size. This research analysed these data to argue that the enterprises have established some networks with local institutions; however, the networks do not significantly affect on the growth of the firms.

  • As a result of the development of information and communication technology and the negative phenomenon of using smart devices including smart phones, many people are stressed. In this paper, we examine the effect of independent variables(mobile use ability, technical limit, speed of change, popularity) and control variables(manual service) on technostresses, which is derived from previous studies conducted from the negative viewpoint of existing information technology. For empirical analysis, empirical data were collected from a total of 206 individuals, and hypothesis tests were conducted using AMOS 22.0. In addition, by the qualitative research, we have examined smartphone usage and the technostress of smartphone usage. Focus group interviews were conducted with 24 ordinary people who purchased and used smartphones in order to verify the user's response to the smartphone user manual service.

  • As the use of smartphones becomes widespread, the negative aspects of smartphone are under controversy. The cutting-edge technologies, such as smartphone, lead to technostress, and the digital addiction causes a social problem, where users cannot properly work without smartphone in their hands, causing anxiety or embarrassment to them. The digital detox intended to solve such digital addiction and the technostress caused by cutting-edge technologies are currently under controversy. This paper investigated the negative factors from smartphone as internal factors affecting the use of smartphone and found their relationship. In this study, a theoretical study model was presented on the satisfaction of smartphone users, in which technostress was selected as an independent variable affecting the satisfaction of smartphone users and user satisfaction as an dependent variable, and digital detox, perceived usefulness and flow were set as parameters. This paper, investigated the effects of technostress and digital detox on the satisfaction of smartphone users with questionnaires data.

  • This research focused on the strategy consulting of the 'Pankyo Technovalley' for the formation of the innovation clusters The study was performed based on both theoretical study and related qualitative study approaches. Particularly, 'scenario planning' as a foresight method was used for the strategy formulation of the innovation clusters. The major determinants for the success of the formation of the innovation clusters can be summarized as follows; the enhancement of the service of the host institution of clusters, the alignment of the national cluster policy with the strategy of the host institution and the networks of the clusters. In terms of the needs of times, this study regarding the strategy for the formation of the innovation clusters is anticipated to be a good reference for the R&D organizations and technology cluster participants in coming years.
