Generating Test Cases of Simulink/Stateflow Model Based on RRT Algorithm Using Heuristic Input Analysis (휴리스틱 입력 분석을 이용한 RRT 기반의 Simulink/Stateflow 모델 테스트 케이스 생성 기법)

  • This paper proposes a modified RRT (Rapidly exploring Random Tree) algorithm utilizing a heuristic input analysis and suggests a test case generation method from Simulink/Stateflow model using the proposed RRT algorithm. Though the typical RRT algorithm is an efficient method to solve the reachability problem to definitely be resolved for generating test cases of model in a black box manner, it has a drawback, an inefficiency of test case generation that comes from generating random inputs without considering the internal states and the test targets of model. The proposed test case generation method increases efficiency of test case generation by analyzing the test targets to be satisfied at the current state and heuristically deciding the inputs of model based on the analysis during expanding an RRT, while maintaining the merit of RRT algorithm. The proposed method is evaluated with the models of ECUs embedded in a commercial passenger's car. The performance is compared with that of the typical RRT algorithm.

  • The early test can greatly reduce the cost of error correction for system development. It is still important in SOA based service system. However, the existing methods of test case generation for SOA have limitations which are restricted to only web service using XML. Therefore, this paper proposes a method of test case generation using BPMN-based model reduction for service system. For minimizing test effort, an existing BPM is transformed into S-BPM which is composed of basic elements of workflow. The process of test case generation starts with making S-BPM concerning the target service system, and transforms the target service system into directed graph. And then, we generate several service scenarios applying scenario searching algorithm and extract message moving information. Applying this method, we can obtain effective test cases which are even unlimited to web service. This result is the generation of test case which is reflected in the business-driven property of SOA.

  • Use Case는 일반적으로 시스템의 기능적 요소를 나타내기 위하여 활용하며, 고객의 요구사항을 반영하여 작성을 한다. 그러므로 Use Case 규격대로 시스템이 구현되었는가를 검증하는 것은 고객이 원하는 시스템이 구현되었는가를 검증하는 것이라 할 수 있다. 그러므로 Use Case를 기반으로 테스트를 수행 하기 위한 테스트 케이스 작성이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 Use Case를 이용하여 테스트 케이스를 도출하는 과정을 제안하고, 이에 의하여 확보되는 테스트 커버리지의 의미를 설명한다.

  • The SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) based softwares are escalated because of quickly coping with business requirement. SOA can not apply to existing test method because of loosely coupled service and massage exchange architecture. In this paper, we suggest a method of test case generation using BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation). First we model processes, then make Business Flow Graph (BFG). After searching the euler path through symmetrized BFG about input and output degrees, we generate test cases. A method of test case generation using BPMN can apply at SOA-based system, and reduce the number of test cases.

  • 컴퓨터 분야에서 에이전트의 개념은 전자 상거래, 정보 검색과 같은 많은 어플리케이션들에 응용되어 중요 시 되고 있다. 하지만, 아직까지 지능성을 가진 테스트 도구는 없었다. 이 논문에서 제안하는 테스트 에이전트 시스템은 에이전트의 특성을 가지고 테스터를 도와주는 테스트 도구이다. 테스트 에이전트 시스템은 객체지향 테스트 프로세스를 따라 테스터의 일을 대행해 주고, 테스터의 간섭을 최소화 시켜 준다. 이 시스템은 자동 생성된 많은 양의 테스트케이스에서 중복이 없고 일관성 있는 테스트케이스를 지능적으로 선택하여 테스트 시간을 단축시켜 준다. 테스트 에이전트 시스템은 3개의 에이전트 User Interface Agent, Test Case Selection & Testing Agent, Regression Test Agent로 구성된다. 특히 Test Case Selection & Testing Agent은 RE-Rule과 CTS-Rule을 통하여 중복이 없고 일관성 있는 테스트케이스를 지능적으로 선택하며, Regression Test Agent는 RRTIS-Rule을 통해 리그래션 테스트 항목을 지능적으로 선택한다.

  • In model-based testing using sequence diagrams, test cases are automatically derived from the sequence diagrams. For the generation of test cases, scenarios need to be found for representing as a sequence diagram, and to extract test paths satisfying the test coverage. However, it is hard to automatically extract test paths from the sequence diagram because a sequence diagram represents loop, opt, and alt information using CombinedFragments. To resolve this problem, we propose a transformation process that transforms a sequence diagram into an activity diagram which represents scenarios as a type of control flows. In addition, we generate test cases from the activity diagram by applying a test coverage concept. Finally, we present a case study for test cases generation from a sequence diagram.

  • This paper proposes an automatic generation technology of test case based on API in source code for software's quality improvement. The proposed technology is comprised of four processes which are analyzing source code by using the Doxygen open source tool, defining API specification by using analyzed results, creating test design, generating a test case by adapting Pairwise test technology. Analyzing source code by using the Doxygen open source tool is the phase in which API information in source code such as the API name, input parameter and return parameter are extracted. Defined API specification by using analyzed results is the phase where API informations, which is needed to generate test case, are defined as a form of database by SQLite database on the basis of extracted API information. Creating test design is the phase in which the scenario is designed in order to be composed as database by defining threshold of input and return parameters and setting limitations based on the defined API. Generating a test case by adapting Pairwise test technique is the phase where real test cases are created and changed into database by adapting Pairwise technique on the base of test design information. To evaluate the efficiency of proposed technology, the research was conducted by begin compared to specification based test case creation. The result shows wider test coverage which means the more cases were created in the similar duration of time. The reduction of manpower and time for developing products is expected by changing the process of quality improving in software developing from man-powered handwork system into automatic test case generation based on API of source code.

  • This paper proposes a black-box based test case generation method for Simulink/Stateflow model utilizing the RRT algorithm which is a method to efficiently solve the path planning for complicated systems. The proposed method in the paper tries to solve the reachability problem with the RRT algorithm, which has to be solved for black-box based test case generations. A major problem of the RRT based test case generation algorithms is that the cost such as running time and required memory size is too much for complicated Stateflow model. The typical RRT algorithm expands rapidly-exploring random tree (RRT) in a single state space. But the proposed method expands it in dynamic state space based on the state of Simulink model, consequently reducing the cost. In the paper, a new definition of RRT state space, a distance measure and a test case generation algorithm are proposed. The performance of proposed method is verified through the experiment against Stateflow model.

  • A grammar-based test case generation (GBTG) algorithm takes a grammar G and generates a subset of the language L(G) accepted by G, and called test cases for software product testing. As most languages specified with CFG are recursive, usually L(G) is so large that it is not practical to execute all the of the generated cases. Therefore, this paper presents some "tags" : extra-grammatical annotations which are designed to restrict the generation. A number of control mechanisms have been developed to prune the number of test cases generated while still producing a test set that covers the majority of inputs to the system.

  • SOA는 최근 급부상한 기술로 발전된 웹서비스 기술과 접목되면서 특히 실시간 기업에게 각광받고 있다. 이에 따라 SOA를 위한 민첩성과 빠른 적응력이 충족되는 구체적인 기법 연구가 많은 진행 중에 있다. 이는 SOA에서의 테스트 역시 마찬가지이며, 본 논문에서는 민첩성과 적응력을 높일 수 있는 SOA를 위한 테스트케이스 생성 기법을 제안한다. SOA는 기존의 컴포넌트 기반의 개발과는 관점의 차이 때문에 절차나 기법의 접근 방법이 다를 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 SOA의 서비스를 하부 계층인 컴포넌트로 분할하여 기존의 연구를 활용한 후, 다시 서비스 단위로 합성하여 서비스의 테스트케이스를 생성한다. 그리고 제시한 기법을 인터넷 뱅킹 시스템의 계좌잔액조회 서비스에 적용함으로써 서비스 단위의 테스트케이스 생성 사례를 보인다. 제안 기법을 통해 서비스 단위의 테스트를 체계적으로 할 수 있으며, 빠른 릴리즈를 실현하여 SOA의 민첩성과 적응력을 높일 수 있다.
