  • A facial nerve palsy is described in a patient who underwent IVRO for the correction of a facial asymmetry and anterior openbite. A possible mechanism of facial nerve injury is discussed.

  • This paper presents the configuration, HILS procedure and performance simulation results of the RPV autopilot including a strapdown AHRS. Real time hardware-in-the-loop simulation was performed by using a 3 axis flight motion simulator alonged assumed flight trajectory of the RPV. Being compared with the result of the 6 DOF simulation, the HILS results showed that the performance of the autopilot was satisfactory.

  • We have developed an optical pickup head for blu-ray disc. We have adopted a liquid crystal panel to compensate thickness difference of cover layer. By disposing DVD/CD compatible objective inside the BD objective in disc radial direction, we could realize a backward compatibility. Furthermore we have inserted a polarization diffractive optical element to reduce the influence from the other layer in BD dual layer.

  • As high-capacity disk drives pow in track density, the allowable level of PES is becoming smaller. In this paper, some design concept of actuator is introduced to suppress the Butterfly mode that imposes the fundamental limitation on servo bandwidth. The effect of dynamics of proposed actuator on PES is examined by simulation.
