  • A study to build a reliability model of electronic ballasts for the fluorescent lamp has been performed in this study. We selected the widely being used specification, MIL-HDBK-217 for the study. We briefly reviewed the basic concepts of the electronic ballast with the selected reliability specification. We then developed a reliability model for the ballast using MIL-HDBK-217 and predicted the reliability. We further provided some guides which should be considered in future model development.

  • A simple but practical approach to evaluate the reliability of electronic ballasts for the low wattage fluorescent lamp has been presented in this study. We briefly reviewed the basic concepts of the electronic ballast. We then proposed a simple model and evaluated the reliability of the ballast using computer simulation.

  • In this study, LCD Cell process has been analyzed through ARENA simulation. The major concern is to find the condition maximizing production rate (or quantity per hour). For the analysis, we have selected 4 factors and performed simulation experiments through $L_8(2^7)$ orthogonal arrays. Our results indicate that the production may be maximized with well selected conditions proposed in this study. The results obtained from this study may provide a good base for practical applications.

  • As the level of technology and the standard of living improve, product reliability plays an Increasingly significant role. This study has been performed to build a reliability model of electronic ballasts for the low wattage fluorescent lamp. Telcordia SR-332, one of the most widely used reliability specifications, was selected for the model development. We briefly reviewed the basic concepts of the electronic ballast. We then developed a reliability model for the ballast using SR-332 concepts and the reliability has been examined.

  • Lithium trimethylalkynylaluminates, prepared conveniently by reacting trimethylaluminum with lithium alkynide, readily react with aldehydes and ketones to give the corresponding propargyl alcohols in 70-95% yields. The reaction is highly chemoselective; thus many other functional groups such as amides, nitriles, epoxides and halogen compounds are inert under the reaction conditions. The reagents also show an excellent 1,2-regiospecificity in the reactions with cyclic or acyclic α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds.
