Characteristics of the Real-Time Operation For COMS Normal Operation (천리안위성 정상 운영의 실시간 운영 특성)

  • Communication Ocean Meteorological Satellite (COMS) has the hybrid mission of meteorological observation, ocean monitoring, and telecommunication service. The COMS is located at $128.2{\circ}$ east longitude on the geostationary orbit and currently under normal operation service since April 2011. In order to perform the three missions, the COMS has 3 separate payloads, the meteorological imager (MI), the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI), and the Ka-band communication payload. The satellite controls for the three mission operations and the satellite maintenance are done by the real-time operation which is the activity to communicate directly with the satellite through command and telemetry. In this paper the real-time operation for COMS is discussed in terms of the ground station configuration and the characteristics of daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and yearly operation activities. The successful real-time operation is also confirmed with the one year operation results for 2011 which includes both the latter part of the In-Orbit-Test (IOT) and the first year normal operation of the COMS.

A Study of the Boot ROM S/W Design and Verification for the Next Generation LEO Satellite (차세대 저궤도 위성의 Boot ROM 소프트웨어 설계 및 검증에 대한 연구)

  • The next generation LID satellite has 64KB PROM which contains the boot loader and the monitor software, and two 4MB NVMEMs which are used for flight software storage. The boot loader has two operation modes which are the flight software mode and the monitor mode. In the flight software mode, it checks CRC checksum of selected NVMEM and copies flight software image from NVMEM to RAM And then it starts VxWorks RTOS in RAM, creates flight software tasks, and starts execution of flight software. In the monitor mode, it activates monitor software which performs NVMEM reprogramming and board-level testing on the ground. This paper is to present the design of Boot ROM software and verification method using simulator.

  • 위성의 개발을 위해서는 오랜 개발기간과 많은 예산, 축적된 기술이 요구된다. 또한 위성에는 다양한 분야의 기술이 사용되어지기 때문에 각 서브시스템마다 독자적인 개발환경을 구축할 필요가 있다. 특히 위성의 제어, 임무수행 및 지상과의 통신 등을 담당하는 탑재소프트웨어는 위성의 용도 및 목적에 따라 개발환경이 크게 달라진다. 실시간 운영체제는 무엇을 사용하는지, 개발 및 검증을 위한 도구로 어떤 프로그램을 사용하는지, 내외부의 인터페이스는 어떠한 방식으로 수행할지, 새로운 기능의 CPU나 하드웨어에 대한 제어 등 위성의 탑재소프트웨어를 개발하기 위해서는 다양한 사항들이 고려되어야 한다. 새로운 위성을 개발할 경우 신기술의 적용과 새로운 위성시스템의 검증 및 개발을 위한 개발검증장비가 요구되며, 위성시스템의 변경 때마다 개발검증장비를 새로이 구축하게 되면 많은 기간과 막대한 비용이 위성개발 시마다 소요된다. 위성선진국에서는 다양한 위성의 개발 시 비용절감 및 개발기간 단축을 위하여 범용위성용 개발검증장비를 개발하여 이용하고 있는 추세이다. 국내에서는 다목적실용위성 1 호가 발사되어 성공적으로 임무를 수행하고 있으며 다목적 실용위성 2 호가 개발되어 현재 통합 및 검증시험이 진행 중이다. 그러나 새로운 위성시스템의 사전검증 및 신기술의 적용을 위한 범용위성 시스템 테스트베드에 대한 기술은 미비한 실정이다. 이러한 범용위성용 개발검증장비의 기반기술을 확보하기 위하여 현재 위성전자전산시스템 개발검증장비에 대한 연구가 수행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 수행되고 있는 PowerPC를 이용한 위성 탑재소프트웨어 개발검증시스템의 설계 및 개발에 대하여 설명한다.

Implications of the Increase of Single Person Households for High-Tech Industries: Focusing on AI Adopted Products (1인 가구 증가가 하이테크 산업에서 지니는 함의: 인공지능기술 탑재 상품을 중심으로)

  • This study discussed implications of the increase of single person households (SH) for high-tech industries especially focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) adopted products, based on critically reviewing the past researches on their characteristics including consumption trends; the improvement of AI technology; and its market potentiality in various industries. According to the results, SH spent more time with others like friends and neighbors more than couples. Younger people increasingly chose to live alone by their own free will for achieving their goals. 'Living alone' or 'going solo' is not thought negatively any more, but as a new market power in the future. Considering their value oriented consumption behaviors based on spirit of independence and individualism, they will need high-tech products more like AI adopted products than others because of their advantages for the value of single life. Thus, the rapid progress of AI technology is predicted to bring them satisfaction of their wants and it is suggested to prepare for the market segmentation of SH as AI end-users.

Prediction and Validation of Design Loads of Satellite Components Using Modal Mass Acceleration Curve (모달 질량 가속도 곡선을 이용한 인공위성 탑재품의 설계하중 예측 및 검증)

  • This paper discusses the prediction and validation of design loads of satellite components using modal mass acceleration curve (Modal MAC). To calculate the acceleration upper bound of the satellite components subjected to the launch environment by the Modal MAC, the parameters of SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle were used, and the acceleration upper bound curve in the modal domain was derived. After that, the maximum acceleration loads applied to the satellite components were predicted by combining Modal MAC with the spacecraft interface loads of the satellite/launch vehicle and modal information of the satellite. In addition, the accuracy of the Modal MAC was validated through comparison with the results of the coupled loads analysis using a simple satellite and launch vehicle model.

Sonoporation with echogenic liposome: therapeutic effect on a breast cancer cell (약물이 탑재된 미소기포와 결합된 sonoporation: 유방암세포에 대한 치료효과)

  • Echogenic liposome contains both liquid and gas inside the shell. In ultrasound mediated drug delivery, sonoporation, these new microbubbles can be an attractive drug carrier since they can be loaded water soluble drugs and drug molecules can be unloaded at the specific location with ultrasound sonication. In this paper, the structure of the echogenic liposome was confirmed with EF-TEM and the positive effect of sonoporation with echogenic liposome was comparatively evaluated on MDA-MB-231 cells which is a type of breast cancer cell with Doxorubicin. Control group (Group 1), Doxorubicin only (Group 2), sonoporation with Doxorubicin and hollow microbubbles (Group 3), sonoporation with Doxorubicin loaded echogenic liposome (Group 4) were classified and experiments were conducted. According to the results, Group 4 is at least 1.4 times better in inducing necrosis of cancer cells. Therefore, we conclude echogenic liposome could be one of the most useful form of microbubbles in sonoporation.

  • 홍수기 효과적인 하천관리를 위해서는 광역 모니터링을 위한 기술 확보가 매우 중요하며, 최근 드론을 활용한 하천 모니터링에 관한 관심이 점차 증가되고 있다. 하천관리에 필요한 드론 탑재용 센서는 기본적으로 RGB 광학센서를 비롯하여 근적외선(Nir) 및 열적외선 센서가 함께 운용되는 것이 효과적이다. 그러나 현재 판매되는 드론 카메라를 살펴보면 근적외선과 열적외선 센서가 별도로 분리되어 있고 광학센서에 비해 상대적으로 매우 고가로 판매되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 하천 모니터링을 위해서는 광학(RGB), 근적외선 그리고 열적외선 센서가 통합된 저가의 탑재체 개발이 시급하고 이를 활용한 하천 모니터링 프로세스를 정립할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 일반 드론에 쉽게 탑재 가능한 하천 모니터링용 탑재체를 개발하였으며, 이를 기반으로 하천 홍수 및 부유사 모니터링에 활용하였다. 광학센서는 하천의 주요 형상을 확인하는데 이용하였으며, 근적외선 센서는 홍수 및 부유사 탐지에 활용하였다. 특히 본 연구에서는 비교적 넓은 하천 구역에 대한 공간정보를 구축하기 위해 75% 이상의 중복도를 가지고 촬영하도록 세팅하였으며 영상접합 SW를 활용하여 정사영상을 생성하였다. 구축한 근적외선 정사영상으로부터 영상분석 프로그램을 활용하여 홍수 및 부유사 영역을 추출하였으며 이를 통해 홍수기 하천 모니터링 및 치수 업무 의사결정을 위한 정보를 제공할 수 있었다. 저가용 드론 센서는 상용 SW와의 연계가 어렵기 때문에 자동비행 프로그램처럼 해당 위치별 영상 촬영이 어려운 한계가 있었으며, 본 연구에서는 센서의 제원특성을 활용하여 자동비행 SW에서도 일정 이상의 중복도를 확보할 수 있는 비행고도별 촬영시간 등을 종합적으로 설계하였다. 이를 통해 해당 지역에 대한 하천 모니터링용 정사영상을 구축할 수 있었으며 기존의 고가용 드론 센서와 유사한 효과를 가져올 수 있었다.

Design Procedures of LLC Resonant Converter for Electric Vehicle On-Board Charger (전기자동차 OBC용 LLC 공진형 컨버터의 설계절차)

  • nowadays, many researches for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles have been actively carried out to improve the gas mileage in comparison with mass-produced hybrid electric vehicles. In this paper, the on-board charger for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles is studied for obtaining the high efficiency. The on-board charger consists of two phase interleaved PFC circuit and LLC resonant converter. The new design procedures of LLC resonant converter are proposed in this paper. These are very simple and powerful method. In order to verify the abovementioned contents, the LLC resonant converter is designed and tested by using PSIM tool.

  • This paper deals with a new technique utilizing the angular speed of the reaction wheels to determine attitudes and angular rates for gyroless satellites. The suggested algorithm in this study is designed to determine the precise attitude and angular rates under actual space environments by the support of the angular speeds of reaction wheels based on the extended Kalman filter. Furthermore, the proposed approach is also designed to estimate not only the attitude and angular rates of spacecraft but the external disturbances. The numerical simulation was conducted for gyloless spacecraft installed with four reaction wheels of the pyramid-type configuration. The performance of the proposed algorithm is verified by using numerical simulations.

Trends of the vibration isolation system for spacecrafts (진동절연 시스템의 위성체 적용 동향)

  • A spacecraft contends with various vibration from the launch to the on-orbit operation, which is one of the major considerations in spacecraft design. The weight reduction has been indispensable to decrease the launch cost, however it produces worse disturbances for the spacecraft equipments. Besides, the load requirements at observation payload interfaces have became severe to secure their pointing stability as their images are required with high resolution. As a possible solution, a vibration isolation system is introduced and it reduces the vibration from the launch vehicle or isolates the spacecraft equipments from their generating/transmitted vibration. In this paper, it is examined the design consideration needed for the accommodation of the vibration isolation systems through the survey of recent applications of vibration mitigation technologies to spacecrafts.
