Effects of Oil Refining Processes on Oxidative Stability and Antioxidative Substances of Sesame Oil (정제공정이 참기름의 항산화 물질과 산화 안정성에 미치는 영향)

  • Changes in antioxidative substances-sesamol, sesamin and sesamolin - and mineral contents of sesame oil during refining processes have been studied to investigate the oxidative stability of oils during the storage at $70^{\circ}C$. Fe, Cu, Mg and Zn were nearly removed from the oil by the degumming process. During storage, the changes of total volatile contents in crude and degummed sesame oil were not noticeable but those in alkali-refined and deodorized sesame oil were increased at early period of the storage. The increases of hexanal and pentanal were most noticeable and their concentration was increased markedly in alkali-refined, bleached and deodorized sesame oil at early period of the storage. During refining processes and storage, sesamin was relatively stable but the content of sesamolin was decreased. The content of sesamol was decreased until alkali-refining process but increased during a bleaching process. The content of sesamolin tended to decrease with increasing of sesamol during storage.

  • The effect of oil refining processes-degumming, alkali-refining, bleaching and deodorizing-on oil characteristics and oxidation stability of sesame oil were investigated. The colors(L, a, b) of samples were markedly changed and their peroxide and acid values were decreased, while the other characteristics of samples were not changed during refining stages. The L values of alkali-refined, bleached and deodorized sesame oils were largely decreased and their a values were increased due to browning reaction during the storage at $70^{\circ}C$. The colors of crude and degmmed sesame oils were very stable and their peroxide, free fatty acid and conjugated dienoic acid values were slowly increased. Volatile carbonyl compounds formed by oxidation were increased during the storage at $70^{\circ}C$. The results indicated that refining processes did not affect the sesame oil characteristics but decreased the oxidation stability of sesame oil.

  • Biofiltration is an attractive technique for elimination of VOCs and odorous compounds from low-concentration, high-volume waste gas streams because of its simplicity and cost-effectiveness. The objective of this study was to estimate the removal characteristics of Odorous Compounds including $H_2$S, $NH_3$End BTEX in MSW landfill gases. This Study was conducted at Nanjido landfill site. A compost from the Nanjido composting facility was used as a filling material for biofiltration. Extracted landfill gases were injected into biofilter reactors after mixing with air. Experiments were performed in an incubator being set to $20^{\circ}C$ $H_2$S concentrations were monitored at the depths of 25, 50, 75 and 100cm from the bottom Of the biofilter reactors. 98% of $H_2$S was removed at the filling depth of only 25cm. NH$_3$removal rate was about 85%. Toluene removal rate was the highest among BTEX. Significant pH drop of a filling material was not observed during the biofilter operation of 1 month. Without mixing the landfill gas stream with all, the removal rate of $H_2$S decreased down to 30%.

  • Bottom ash(BA) from coal-fired power plants is burnt and remaining ash at high temperature. Since the BA is baked at high temperature, it is considered to be the same function as the elvan. Nowadays, the demand for mortar with far infrared rays, antibacteria, antifungus, deodorization, aridity and humidity function is increasing as the materials such as Hwangtoh(yellow soil) and elvan rather than general mortar. As a result of comparing the functionality of eco-friendly bio BA mortar with that of general mortar, the far infrared ray emissivity is about $0.02{\times}10^2W/m^2$ more and the deodorization function is about 26% or more. Even in the case of humidity control, BA motors showed about 1.8 times higher than general mortar, and more than 10% higher than the "good" standards of moisture absorption and damp proofing construction materials established by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.

Effects of Process Conditions on Sardine Oil During Bleaching and Deodorization (정어리유에 대한 탈색 및 탈취조건의 영향)

  • For use of sardine oil as an ingredient of food and feed, crude sardine oil obtained by rendering was processed to RBD sardine oil. Alkali deacidification was found to be most efficient with a concentration of 2.5N NaOH and 0.5% excess level at $75^{\circ}C$. Treatment with activated clay alone at $105^{\circ}C$ for 20 min without air admission was effective in reduction of the color intensity of the oil without any formation of the conjugated dienes and trienes of polyunsaturated fatty acids. In deodorization process, as the temperature was increased, color of the oil was to become lighter. The amount of conjugated compounds was, however, increased drastically at higher temperatures above $180^{\circ}C$ for 1hr. and content of polyunsaturated fatty acids was significantly decreased.

Emission Characteristics of Far-infrared Ray, Formaldehyde, Volatile Organic Compounds, and Deodorization Rate of Particleboard Prepared from Xylem Part of Broussonetia Kazinoki Sieb (닥나무 목질부로 제조된 파티클보드의 원적외선, 폼알데하이드, 휘발성유기화합물 방출 및 탈취율)

  • This study examined emission characteristics of far-infrared ray, formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds and deodorization rate of particleboard prepared at different target board densities and resin content levels, using the xylem part of Broussonetia Kazinoki Sieb. The deodorization rate increased, as the target density of board and resin content increased. Emission rates of the far-infrared ray and total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs) were 0.892~0.899, and $0.074mg/m^2{\cdot}h$ for particleboard prepared with the resin content of 13% and target density of $0.6g/cm^3$ while the deodorization rate was 80~90% for the same particleboard. The formaldehyde emission factor ranged from $0.004mg/m^2{\cdot}h$ to $0.006mg/m^2{\cdot}h$ for all particleboard fabricated at different resin content and target densities. These results indicate that particleboard prepared from the xylem part of Broussonetia Kazinoki Sieb have a potential as a building construction material.

  • Network scanning tools typically use port scans to steal information from network terminals and identify vulnerabilities. In particular, Shodan and Censys use a network scanning tool to gather a wide range of terminal information, store it in their database and provide it to the users. In order to prevent such information gathering, it is required to know the scanning methods of Shodan and Censys. However, the scanning model used by Shodan and Censys is not known exactly. Therefore, this paper estimates scanning models of Shodan and Censys and analyzes the performance of each models.

  • Drones, which are used in various fields, are vulnerable to various security threats such as physical deodorization attacks and information leakage attacks because they operate in an unmanned environment and use wireless communication with weak security. In particular, research is needed to prevent damages such as leakage of stored information and unauthorized use due to illegal drone deodorization. In this paper, we propose a context - aware drone control mechanism that protects stored internal information and prevents unauthorized use when the drones are illegally deactivated. We also demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed mechanism as a prototype implementation and experiment.

Sterilizing and Deodorizing Effect of UV-Ray Air Cleaner for Refrigerator (자외선(紫外線) 공기(空氣) 청정기(淸淨機)의 냉장고(冷藏庫) 살균(殺菌) 탈취(脫臭) 효과(效果))

  • Ultara violet ray air cleaner to use as the sterilization and deodorization device in refrigerator was designed and made of UV lamp and carbon block as the main components. The intensity of the lamp was $2.38\;mW/cm^2$ and reflector was installed to increase the radation. After running the device for 12 hours, 80% of the population of airborn bacteria was sterilized both at 48 and 480 liter refrigerator chambers. Ozone production caused by UV-ray reached 0.082 ppm at holding section within a few second when the device was operated at $25^{\circ}C$ and it showed 0.06 pm at $3^{\circ}C$. Deodorization effect was 2.5 times greater than that of a device made of electrical are principle at $25^{\circ}C$. New device 2 times more effectivly decreased trimethylamine and methyl mercaptan content applied as odor indicator substance in chamber at $3^{\circ}C$ than electrical arc type.
