Heat and hydrogen transfer characteristics have been experimentally investigated for a hydride reaction bed, in which hydride material LaN $i_{4,7}$A $l_{0.3}$ is contained for hydrogen storage. This problem is of particular interest in the design of metal hydride devices such as metal-hydride refrigerators, heat pumps, or metal-hydride storage units. Transient behavior of hydrogen transfer through the hydride materials as well as heat transfer is studied during absorption and desorption processes in detail. The experimental results obtained indicate that the mass flow of the hydrogen is strongly affected by the governing parameters, such as the initial pressure of the reaction bed, absorption or desorption period, and cooling or heating temperature. These mass transfer results are along with the heat transfer rate between hydride materials and heat transfer medium in the reaction bed.d.d.

This is a case report of a sliding hiatal hernia with severe gastroesophageal reflux(GER) after repair of congenital diaphragmatic hernia(CDH). It was not possible to determine whether the hiatal hernia is a de novo lesion which was missed at the original operation or a consequence of overzealous repair of the Bochdalek defect at the expense of weakening of the diaphragmatic crura. This case demonstrates that a sliding hiatal hernia can be a cause of severe gastroesophageal reflux that should be managed surgically.

A paraesophageal hernia which is rare type of hiatal hernia was experienced in a 25 months old child sufferring from chronic anemia, surgical treatment was successful. The review of the literatures was done.

저자들은 1976년 1월 부터 1997년 3월 까지 21년간 외상성 횡격막 파열 52례 중 지연성 외상성 횡격막 탈장 6례를 치험 하였는데 이중 남자는 4례, 여자는 2례였으며 우측은 1례였다. 둔상에 의한 경우는 5례였고 자상은 1례였다. 수술은 모두 개흉술을 시행 하였고 복부로 절개를 연장한 경우가 1례 있었다. 외상성 흉부 손상을 입었을 때 횡격막 파열을 의심하는 것이 중요하며 흉강경을 이용하여 진단및 치료를 할 수 있다.

평소 건강하게 지내다가 갑자기 시작된 반복적인 구토와 보채는 증상으로 5개월 여아가 병원에 내원하였고, 단순 흉부 방사선 검사에서 비정상적 음영이 좌측 흉부에서 관찰되었다. 이어 시행된 흉부 전산화 단층촬영에서 선천성 횡경막 탈장으로 진단되어, 흉부외과에서 수술적 치료 시행하였으며 수술 결과 횡경막 좌측후외방의 Bochdalek 형식의 선천성 횡격막 탈장으로 확인되었고, 수술적 치료 후 증상의 호전을 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

선천성 흉강내 신장은 이소성 신장의 가장 드문 형태로 알려져 있다. 흔히 증상이 없어 우연히 흉부 방사선 촬영을 통해 발견 되며, 주로 성인 시기와 산전 진단에서 진단 받는 경우가 많은 것으로 알려져 있다. 선천성 흉강내 신장은 다른 동반기형이 없는 무증상의 경우 수술적 치료가 필요하지 않으며, 횡격막 탈장이 동반된 경우 출생 후 수일 이내에 교정 수술이 필요 하다. 이에 저자들은 분만력, 과거력상 특이 소견이 없었던 15개월 남아로 간헐적인 심한 보챔을 주소로 내원하였고 흉부 방사선 촬영에서 종격동 종괴를 보여 시행한 초음파와 스캔에서 신장 위치의 이상을 확인하였고, MRI를 통해 횡격막 탈장을 확인한 예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다.
