To satisfy the requirements for QoS and acceptance ratio of the users using multimedia content service, it is required to control mechanism for QoS assurance and allocation of the stream server' resources based on CoS(Class of Service). To compare performance of the algorithm, we have classified the user by two classes (super class, base class) and control the acceptance ratio of user's requests by user's class information. We have experimented the test of network resources and test of processing time under server/client environment and agent environment. MA-URFA based on agent increases the acceptance ratio of super class and utilization ratio of network resources.

In this paper, we analyzed the known agent tracking models and proposed a new agent tracking model based on the distributed event service that always assures reliable tracking. Also we experimented the Performance of the event servers on the agent monitoring system that implements the distributed event service and showed their performance to decrement gracefully. The proposed tracking model doesn't make only several clients trace a mobile agent which moves among agent servers autonomously, but also supports two types of agent tracking agent location tracking that notifies agent location to the clients and path establishment that maintains reliable connection between agent servers for message delivery.

This paper deals with an EJB-based database agent(component) used to define workflow processes, which is a core function of the e-Chautauqua workflow management system that is an on-going research product. We describe about how to design and implement the EJB-based DB agent that is deployed on EJB server as a component. The agent is located between the build-time clients and the database system, and manages database accesses, such as retrieves and stores, from the workflow definition components. Through the EJB technology, we are able to accomplish a stable database agent that can be characterized by the distributed object management, reliable recovery mechanism from system failovers, reliable large-scale transaction management, and the security functions.

The most representative research network in Korea, KREONET has developed the NSI based NSA (Network Service Agent) technology. The developed NSA supports web service and provides services for reservation, provision, release and termination of network resource, whenever users want to utilize them. In this paper, the system blocks of the developed NSA and flows of NSI interface massage are presented firstly, Also, service test results for NSI connection reservation is given through internet communication of the web portal system to operate as the RA NSA and the NSA, Finally, it is confirmed that reservation, provision, release and termination of network resource can be established through NSI messages based on reservation information from user, between the web portal and the NSA.

The developers of mobile agent systems are considering integrating the system into the web and the developers of web servers are also considering supporting mobile agents in the future. But they are not clearly suggesting the relationship between web programming which has basically client/server architecture and mobile agent programming which is based on autonomous code mobility. In this paper, firstly, we clarify the method for integrating mobile agent programming into web programming by suggesting the model for mobile agent programming on the web. Secondly, by developing APIs for Java which is widely used for both web programming and mobile agent programming, we made it possible for programmers to use them for programming mobile agent on the web. Thirdly, we show the usefulness of the proposed model by adding and testing modules for execution environment of mobile agents on W3C's Java based web server, Jigsaw.

As distributed systems become used in wider area of applications, many works has been done to invent more efficient way to manage the distributed systems. The client-server based distributed system management by using SNMP or CMIP has many problems such as scalability, interoperability, flexibility, and so on. Recently, it is evident that managing distributed systems using mobile agents have popularity, and the Java language helps the trend. However, the improvement of performance has to be analyzed when the mechanism of mobile agent is applied In this paper, we discuss a more efficient way to make use of the mobile agent mechanism for managing distributed systems, and propose an Agent-On-Demand (AOD) method. The core of the method is not to use the previous method that mobile agents doing management job is dispatched to the managed nodes by a manager application, but to make agents requested by the managed nodes and then the manager application send the requested agents to that nodes. This process is done through Hierarchical State Threshold (HST). Also we present a performance model for Java RMI and mobile agent, and compare the AOD method with the previous work in terms of network overhead and execution time.

최근 인터넷의 급속한 성장과 초고속 통신망의 구축으로 인하여 다양한 멀티미디언 서비스들이 제공되고 있다. 그러나 현재 대부분의 멀티미디어 서비스들은 클라이언트/서버 모델을 기반으로 구축되어 있기 때문에, 중앙 서버로의 과도한 부하가 집중되는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 수수 P2P 환경으로 구축된 멀티미디어 서비스 환경에서의 자원 검색 기법을 제안한다. 제안 기법은 고정 에이전트를 기반으로 자원 검색을 수행하여 기존의 순수 P2P 환경에서의 검색 기법으로 인한 문제점을 해결한다. 또한, 시나리오를 통하여 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘의 구체적인 동작과정을 제시한다.

장소와 시간에 관계없이 언제든 네트워크에 접속해 컴퓨팅할 수 있는 유비쿼터스 환경은 이제 디지털 기술의 발전으로 전문가 영역에서 생활현장으로 까지 계속 퍼져나가고 있다. 본 논문에서는 언제 어디서나 멀리 떨어진 곳에서도 내 PC를 제어할 수 있는 홈 네트워크 기반의 시스템으로 사용자가 휴대폰을 이용하여 네트워크로 내 PC를 원격으로 제어하는데 초점을 맞춘다. 이는 사용자가 만든 파일(UCC: User Created Contents)을 모바일을 통해 웹으로 전송해줄 수 있는 효과적인 시스템이다. 그리고 사용자들이 자신의 PC에 원하는 파일을 원격으로 이메일 전송하는 기능 중심으로 서버와 클라이언트 간 통신 구조를 소개, 분석한다. 본 논문에서는 위의 결과를 바탕으로 시스템을 구현하고 실험하였다.

본 논문에서는 사용자의 다양한 이질적인 사용 환경(단말기기, 네트웨크 품질 등)에 최적화된 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 제공하는 시스템에 대해 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 MPEG-21 멀티미디어 프레임워크를 기반으로 한다. 시스템은 클라이언트, 미디어 서버, 적응 변환 서버, 그리고 툴 서버로 구성된다. 또한 제안된 시스템은 사용자의 사용 환경 정보를 분석하고, 생성하는 사용 환경 정보에이전트 모듈과, 이를 받아 분석하는 정책 결정 엔진 모듈, 그리고 이를 제어하고 관리하는 제어모듈도 제공된다. 구성된 시스템에 대해 MPEG-2 교육 방송 컨텐츠에 대해 다양한 사용환경에 대해 적용하여 제안된 MPEGB-21 기반 서비스 시스템이 유효함을 확인하였다.

본 논문에서는 다성 음원 기반의 다양한 응용 분야에서 적용이 가능한 실용 Query by Singing/Humming (QbSH) 시스템을 구현한다. 이를 위해서 검색 서버을 위한 소프트웨어 스택을 개발하고 다양한 형태의 클라이언트와 함께 임베디드 시스템과 같은 저성능 클라이언트를 위한 허밍검색 에이전트를 개발하여 기존의 클라이언트 시스템에 플러그인 할 수 있는 모듈을 개발한다. 실용 QbSH 시스템을 개발하기 위하여 각각의 핵심 알고리즘들의 최적의 조합을 이루어 통합된 전체시스템의 성능을 평가한다. 학술적인 연구에만 그쳤던 허밍기반 오디오 검색 서비스를 상업적으로 이용하기 위해 다양한 응용분야의 프로토타입을 구현한다.
