Mesh-based Marching Cubes on the GPU (메시 기반 GPU 마칭큐브)

  • We propose a modified real-time marching cubes technique that extracts isosurfaces in the form of connected meshes instead of triangle soup. In this way, a various mesh-based isosurface rendering techniques can be implemented and additional information of the isosurfaces such as its topology can be extracted in real-time. In addition, we propose a real-time technique to extract adjacency-triangle structure for geometry shaders that can be used for various shading effects such as silhouette rendering. Compared with the previous technique that welds the output triangles of classical marching cubes, our technique shows up to 300% performance improvement.

3D Reconstruction Algorithm using Stereo Matching and the Marching Cubes with Intermediate Iso-surface (스테레오 정합과 중간 등위면 마칭큐브를 이용한 3차원 재구성)

  • This paper proposes an effective algorithm that combines both the stereo matching and the marching cube algorithm. By applying the stereo matching technique to an image obtained from various angles, 3D geometry data are acquired, and using the camera extrinsic parameter, the images are combined. After reconstructing the combined data into mesh using the image index, the normal vector equivalent to each point is obtained and the mesh smoothing is processed. This paper describes the successive processes and techniques on the 3D mesh reconstruction, and by proposing the intermediate iso- surface algorithm. Therefore it improves the 3D data instability problem caused when using the conventional marching cube algorithm.

  • Hypercube has a regular and hierarchical structure, therefore it can be applied to the development of efficient diagnosis algorithm. Kranakis and Pelc [7] have proposed HYP-DIAG algorithm to implement different method of HADA/IHADA and adaptive cube partition method after embedding the small size of ring that includes all the faulty nodes. In this paper, we propose new method to reduce testing rounds by analyzing the syndrome of RGC-rings gained in the first step of HYP-DIAG and analyze the proposed algorithm.

Routing scheme and structure of crossed incomplete hypercube for enhancing performance (성능 향상을 위한 교차된 불완전 하이퍼큐브의 구조 및 경로배정 기법)

  • Hypercube has some advantages such as small diameter between nodes and relatively simple routing scheme, so it is one of the most popular interconnection networks used in real systems. But to make this structure more practical, it is required to reduce its diameter and to be able to expand it to any number of nodes. In this study, we proposed a Crossed Incomplete Hypercube structure. This scheme is based on the previous Crossed Hypercube topology that reduces the diameter about 50% and has the same complexity with general hypercube and is able to expand to any number of nodes. We also proposed a fixed routing scheme for this structure. In the repect of the average path and the average routing time, this structure shows an enhanced performance about 30% and it is enhanced about 20% ifn the average traffic density.

Embedding Algorithms Hypercube, HCN, and HFN into HFCube Interconnection Networks (상호연결망 HFCube와 하이퍼큐브, HCN, HFN 사이의 임베딩 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we analyze emddings among HFCube(n,n), HCN(n,n), HFN(n,n) with lower network cost than that of Hypercube. The results are as follows. We propose that $Q_{2n}$ can be embedded into HFCube(n,n) with dilation 5, congestion 2. HCN(n,n) and HFN(n,n) are subgraphs of HFCube(n,n). HFCube(n,n) can be embedded into HFN(n,n) with dilation 3. HFCube(n,n) can be embedded into HCN(n,n) with dilation O(n). The results will be helpful to analyze several efficient properties in each interconnection network.

  • 본 논문에서는 새로운 다중 컴퓨터의 위상으로 하이퍼-스타 그래프를 제안하고, 하이퍼-스타 그래프에 대하여 주요 망 척도인 분지수, 연결도, 확장성, 라우팅, 지름, 임베딩 등의 특징을 분석한다. 하이퍼-스타 그래프 HS(2n,n)에 에지를 한 개 추가한 folded 하이퍼-스타 그래프 FHS(2n,n)은 2nCn개의 노드를 갖고 널리 알려진 상호 연결망인 하이퍼큐브에 비해 상대적으로 분지수와 지름이 작은 값을 갖는 연결망이다. Folded 하이퍼-스타 그래프 FHS(2n,n)가 하이퍼큐브 Qn이 같은 노드 수를 가질 때 분지수$\times$지름에 대한 척도에 있어서 은 n2/2보다 작고, 하이퍼큐브 Qn와 그의 변형들보다 연결망의 망 비용에 있어서 우수함을 의미한다. 또한 하이퍼큐브 Qn과 n$\times$n 토러스를 하이퍼-스타 그래프 HS(2n,n)에 연장비율 2에 임베딩하는 방법을 보인다.

  • Every purchase a customer makes builds patterns about how products are purchased together. The process of finding these patterns, called market basket analysis, is composed of two steps in the Microsoft Association Algorithm. The first step is to find frequent item-sets. The second step which requires much less time than the first step does is to generate association rules based on frequent item-sets. Even though the first step, finding frequent item-sets, is the core part of market basket analysis, when applied to Online Analytical Processing(OLAP) cubes it always raises several points such as longitudinal analysis becomes impossible and many unpractical transactions are built up. In this paper, a new OLAP cube structures designing method which makes longitudinal analysis be possible and also makes only real customers' purchase patterns be identified is proposed for market basket analysis.

  • Recently A Hyper-Star Graph HS(m, k) has been introduced as a new interconnection network of new topology for parallel processing. Hyper-Star Graph has properties of hypercube and star graph, further improve the network cost of a hypercube with the same number of nodes. In this paper, we show that Hyper-Star Graph HS(m, k) is subgraph of hypercube. And we also show that regular graph, Hyper-Star Graph HS(2n, n) is node-symmetric by introduced mapping algorithm. In addition, we introduce an efficient one-to-all broadcasting scheme - takes 2n-1 times - in Hyper-Star Graph HS(2n, n) based on a spanning tree with minimum height.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the general public with basic data to facilitate the application of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation(CPR). There were two groups using CPR mannequin and CPR cube, and participants were given three days of CPR training and two weeks later evaluated for chest compression. Participants recorded chest compression depth, rate of chest compression, accuracy of chest compression, insufficient recoil and incomplete place. There was a statistically significant difference in insufficient recoil and incomplete place in the study. The use of CPR cube to expand CPR education is also believed to be useful in terms of confidence and quality in implementing CPR.

Fast Pattern Tracking in Cubemap Video Using Kalman Filter (큐브맵 비디오에서 칼만 필터를 사용한 빠른 패턴 추적)

  • This paper presents a fast pattern tracking method using location prediction in cubemap video for 360-degree VR. A spherical cubemap frame has six face textures and searching a pattern is much slower than a flat image. To overcome the limitation, we propose a method of predicting the location of target pattern using Kalman filter and reducing the search area by considering only textures of predicted location. The experimental results showed that the proposed system is much faster than the previous method of searching all six faces and also gives accurate pattern tracking performance.
