LOM 시스템을 이용한 패턴제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacturing Process of Pattern with LOM System)

  • Rapid Prototyping(RP) has been widely applied in designing and developing process of new products. RP can reduce the lead time and expense required to bring a new product form initial concept to production. Among several RP process can dramatically reduce the total build time and be applied for fabrication of large-sized and free form object because it uses in LOM the paper thickness is 0.05∼0.38mm as deposition feature segment. In this study, mechanical properties of pattern with LOM system is studied for optimal design of sand mold casting. The main result is that tensile, compressive strength and pattern size are significantly affected by temperature of hot roll.

  • This study focuses on designing a new gluing system for the FM-I (Freeform Master I), which is a new rapid prototyping machine using a sheet lamination technique. To design the system, we firstly verify the required parameters of the proposed gluing system. Then we analyze the electro-magnetic system by using ANSYS and the mechanical system by using numerical methods. The gluing system can contribute to reduce the cost of the machine since it can be applied to low cost materials such as a plain paper.

  • 금속분말 쾌속조형법의 한 종류인 DMLS 공정은 사출성형품의 균일한 냉각이 가능한 3차원 냉각시스템을 포함한 코어, 캐비티 제작이 가능하다. 그러나, 코어 및 캐비티 내 미세형상의 경우 DMLS로 제작하기에는 난해하므로 별도 미세 절삭가공을 통해 제작할 필요가 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 DMLS금형강 소재의 미세 절삭가공 특성을 분석하고자 하였으며, 이를 위하여 HIP 공정 적용 전 후 DMLS금형강 소재를 대상으로 미세 절삭가공 실험을 수행하고 버 발생 및 공구마모 경향을 분석하였다. 실험 결과 HIP 적용 전 시편이 강도 및 조직측면에서 미세 절삭가공에 상대적으로 유리함을 확인할 수 있었다.

RP시스템을 이용한 원형시제품 제작 시 제품 오차 보정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Correction of CIRCLE Product Error by Prototype using Rapid Prototyping System)

  • RP system which is widely used to reduce the time of product development is to resolve the problem of cutting work. It is a method using laminated thin films to produce many forms. The RP equipment used for this experiment is FDM system. This can produce 3D model with using 3D CAD designed file within a relatively short time. Not only this, this system also through 3D file preparation, 3D product manufacture, removal support these 3 step operating process can easily produce goods, but product can be different from original design. This research has been conducted to minimize this error. To apply to the circular product made a circular specimen and measured several times with 3D scanner and find out average 99.622% of accuracy. This result is applied to RP system, and with this changed design produced a specimen, and found out the accuracy is increased to 99.958%. If this is applied to circular products, we can produce more precise products with less process.

  • In this paper, we present a technology of producing anew chaotic micromixer, named Micromixer with Arranged Blocks(MAB), and the experimental result of the mixing performance. Chaotic mixing was successfully achieved by introducing periodic perturbation in the field of the channel flow by means of slanted blocks. The MAB was made by an RP(Rapid Prototyping) technology. We performed flow visualization experiments for the quantification of the mixing performance with the MAB. Lyapunov exponent was measured to be 0.3557 and 0.1305 for the block height 0.8 and 0.2 times the channel width.

삼차원 디지타이저를 이용한 역설계 시스템 (Reverse Engineering System Based 3D Digitizer)

  • Reverse engineering is a technique that helps designers to quickly generate computer interpretable data from existing physical objects. It can be used for generating CAD data from a mechanical part of high precision, or generating computer animation characters from physical mock-ups. We developed a low precision reverse engineering system that is composed of surface/solid generation software and a contact type commercial 3D digitizer. A unique point sampling procedure has been devised to easily form solid topology from the sampled data. It was also shown that STL data for rapid prototyping was successfully generated from the solid.

  • Rapid prototyping becomes widely used in design and manufacturing of mechanical and aerospace engineering. Here a drag valve disk consisted of complicate configuration has designed by CAD, and prototyped by a stereolithography apparatus (SLA) to confirm the design configuration. Also the prototyped valve disk was used for checking if it could be applied for casting from the view point of accuracy, cost, and time. The rapid-prototyped disk by SLA was compared with a high-speed machined disk by MAKINO V55, and it is found that the prototyping of the disk by SLA appears more economical, more accurate and faster than by machining with MAKINO V55.

3차원 CAD를 활용한 주얼리 원본 자동화 연구 (Jewelry Design Automization using a 3D CAD)

  • 고부가가치 산업인 주얼리 디자인 개발시 3D CAD작업을 통해 30여종의 표준형상 database를 구축하여 designer가 선택한 database의 design을 쾌속조형기 (rapid Prototype)를 사용하여 5시간 내에 다양한 크기의 형상을 동시에 구현하고자 하였다. 고가의 보석 및 장신구 주얼리는 소비자가 원하는 디자인을 즉석에서 확인할 수 있도록 개발된다면 더욱 더 고부가가치 창출이 가능하다. 본 연구에서 개발된 시스템을 활용하면 디자인의 표준 database를 구축하여 디자인 개발비의 30% 이상 절감이 가능하였고, 몇 가지 디자인을 복합적으로 조립하여 새로운 디자인을 창출할 수 있었다. 따라서 기존 수작업에 의존하는 현재의 방식으로 27시간 이상 걸리던 형상구현의 시간을, 본 시스템을 적용하면 5시간 이내로 단축할 수 있는 공학적 장점을 확인하였다.

규제액면기법의 전사방식 광조형 시스템을 위한 이형력 감소 (Reducing Separation Force for Projection Stereolithography based on Constrained Surface Technique)

  • Projection-based stereolithography is divided into constrained-surface and free-surface type according to controlling liquid layer. The constrained-surface type has a uniform layer thickness due to the use of a projection window, which covers the pattern generator such as liquid crystal display. However, the adhered resin on the projection window causes trouble and requires great separation force when the cured layer is separated from the window. To minimize the separation force, we developed a system to measure the separation force. The influence of material covering the pattern generator and the resin temperature is investigated in the system. Several structures according to the resin temperature and the velocity of z-axis elevation are compared. As a result, the fabrication condition to minimize the separation force reduces the process time.
