회전 열공구를 이용한 쾌속 열용삭 공정 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Rapid Heat Ablation process Using Rotary Hot tool)

  • In order to realize a three-dimensional shape on CAD, the machining process has been widely used because it offers practical advantages such as precision and versatility. However, the traditional machining process needs a large amount of time in cutting a product and the remained material causes trouble such as inconvenience due to cleaning process. This paper introduces a new rapid manufacturing process called Rapid Heat Ablation process (RHA) using the rotary hot tool to overcome limitations of traditional machining process. The rotary hot tool to satisfy requirements of RHA process is designed and produced. In order to examine relationships between kerfwidth and process parameters such as heat input, speed of tool and speed of revolution, experiments were carried out. In addition, relationship between the kerfwidth and the effective heat input was obtained. Based on the experimental results, double-curved shape was ablated to show the validity of proposed process. In the procedure, the rough cut and fine cut were performed according to the conditions of process parameters without tool change process. The practicality and effectiveness of the proposed process have been verified through ablation of three-dimensional shape.

  • The STL file format is an approximation of 3-D model with triangular facets. STL is a standard input file format of Rapid Prototyping(RP) equipment In computer graphics a circle has been approximated with an inscribed polygon which causes an error between the real and approximated circles. In this study an intersecting polygon has been used to approximate the circle and applied to produce more accurate RP part. The newly proposed method shows it's excellence in part accuracy.

  • This paper is described manufacturing to jewelry by using rapid prototype. At that time, the SLC file is useful for solved generating errors to part build file. Then. we have reduced the time of manufacturing complicated three-dimensional form. Generally, it is used the STL file for rapid prototype that it is necessary to considerable time when complicated firm as jewelry generated pan build file. But the SLC file is solved to problem because it consists of configuration of a section. Neter the less, Generating Part build file hate had a lot of problem when the SLC file is used.

  • Laser aided direct metal deposition (LADMD) process offers the ability to make a metal component directly from 3-D CAD dimensions. A 3-D object can be formed by repeating laser cladding layer by layer. The key of the build-up mechanism is the effective control of powder delivery and laser power to be irradiated into the melt-pool. A feedback control system using optical sensors is introduced to control laser power and powder mass flow rate. Using H13 tool steel and $CO_2$ laser system, comprehensive analysis are executed to test the efficiency of the system. In addition, the dimensional characteristics of directed deposited material are investigated with the parameters of deposition thickness, laser power, traverse speed and powder mass flow rate.

  • Recently, the Rapid Prototyping System makes used of changing file format. The most problem is produced by this process. It is influenced by the precision of shape manufacturing. And It is most influenced by shrinkage rate within many elements influence the precision of 3D shape manufacturing. In result, the length strain in each axis cause at STL file transforming. It will compensate for utilizing the shrinkage rate.

쾌속조형부품의 표면거칠기와 기계적 물성치에 관한 비교 (Benchmark Study on Surface Roughness and Mechanical Properties of Rapid Prototypes)

  • Various kinds of rapid prototyping processes are available, such as stereo-lithography apparatus(SLA), fused deposition modeling(FDM), selective laser sintering(SLS), 3 dimensional printing(3DP), and laminated object manufacturing(LOM). In this study, benchmark tests are carried out to obtain detailed informations about surface roughness and mechanical properties of those parts. Although the patterns and roughness averages of part surface are dependent on the surface direction, the roughness of SLA part is the best and that of FDM or 3DP part is the worst. It is shown that FDM part has an advantage in impact strength, SLS(or EOS) part in compressive strength, and LOM part has an advantage in tensile strength and heat resistance, but the change of building direction in FDM and LOM processes severely weakens the tensile and impact strengths.

여러 가지 쾌속조형 방식의 경사면 거칠기 특성 (Characteristics of Roughness of Inclined Surface Fabricated by Various Rapid Prototyping Processes)

  • Surface of rapid prototype has inevitably stair-stepping error, which is attributed to the continuous building process of 2 dimensional area. In this study, rounded edge model was established to estimate the roughness of inclined surface which has stair-stepping error. To investigate the roughness of rapid prototypes, specimens that have various surface inclinations were manufactured by various types of RP machines. As the surface inclination increased, the roughness of the specimens manufactured by SL, FDM, or LOM process decreased, which coincides with the simulation results. However, surface roughness of 3DP specimen was almost independent of the inclination. Furthermore, as the angle of surface increased, roughness of poly-jet specimen also increased, which is attributed to the frictional behavior between writing head and scanned area.

  • Nowadays, Industrial competition power is depended on that rapidly produce the customized products. Therefor, it is necessary to reduce period of product development. Thus, concurrent engineering that work many process at a time was appeared and Rapid prototyping was appeared, it is method that rapidly produce the prototype. If the graphic model was made by CAD, the prototype can be made in short term. That provide what the part was directly tested by the worker. It provide a worker with believable data. We study on the influence of surface roughness on injection interval and part angle at FDM.

  • In order to realize a three-dimensional shape on CAD, the machining process has been widely used because it offers practical advantages such as precision and versatility. However, the traditional machining process needs a large amount of time in cutting a product and the remained material causes trouble such as inconvenience for clarity. Therefore, a new rapid manufacturing process using the hot tool, Rapid Heat Ablation process (RHA), has been developed. In this paper, the hot tool for RHA process is devised to minimize radius of heat affected zone and also investigated for verification. TRIZ well-known as creative problem solving method is applied to overcome the contradictive requirements of the hot tool. For the detailed design of the hot tool, numerical model is established with several assumptions. Based on the numerical results, surface temperature is measured with K-type thermocouple at the predetermined location. Numerical and experimental results show that the devised hot tool fulfils its requirements. It verifies the practicality of hot tool that the hemisphere shape is ablated using the hot tool with stair structure.
