  • Several problems including respiratory and skin disorders due to the problems for sick house syndrome have occurred, there appears echo friendly materials to solve the problems. The research is lacking in quality management techniques ocher concrete using nondestructive tests. In this research, the experimental works were conducted to study the initial quality control for the compressive strength of Ocher concrete(21 MPa). The purpose of this study is the implementation platform for quality management of ocher concrete using nondestructive tests. It uses the relationship between the compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity of the ocher concrete to estimate the compressive strength of the ocher concrete. And using the impact echo method to estimate the thickness of the ocher concrete. The platform is based on a Java script, so that the user can obtain the data through the platform.

  • In present research, the plywoods made of radiata pine or Japanese larch, the potential softwood species in mass supply, were discussed to examine their feasibility as the structural and concrete form panels through the basic properties test. First, plywood qualities and its nail performance were tested. The performance test for concrete form or structural panel by concentrated and uniformly distributed load were conducted to investigate the possibility as structural material for light frame and concrete constructions. Test results of basic quality such as specific gravity, cupping, bowing, and twisting appeared to satisfy the criteria for structural use. Also, nail performance test results, for roof and wall sheathing panels, nail lateral resistance, nail withdrawal resistance, and nail push head resistance proved to meet the required standard for structural use. The test results on performance as structural panel by concentrated and uniformly distributed load and as concrete form panel showed that these two species could be used for structural sheathing, subfloor, and concrete form panels.

  • Polymer-modified mortars have been largely used as paving materials, flooring, waterproofing material, adhesives, anticorrosive linings, deck coverings, and other various materials. The various types and properties of the mixed polymer largely affect the characteristics of polymer-modified mortar that has been mixed with polymer latexes. Consequently, its application purposes are varied according to these properties. This paper investigates the typical properties of polymer-modified mortars that contain styrene and butyl acrylate latexes and styrene butadiene rubber. They are then tested to obtain air contents, water-cement ratios, flexural and compressive strengths, water absorption, and chloride-ion penetration. From the test results, the superior flexural strength of polymer-modified mortars is obtained at a S/BA-2 and a polymer-cement ratio of 20%. And, the water absorption and chloride ion penetration depth are greatly affected by the polymer-cement ratio rather than the types of polymer. In the polymer-modified mortar and concrete structures, aggregates are bound by such a co-matrix phase, resulting in the superior properties of polymer-modified mortar and concrete compared to conventional mortar and concrete.

  • Various researches on the application of polymer dispersions to the cement mortar and concrete have been practised in many countries like America, Japan and Germany and so on because of high performance and good modification effect of these. In this study, SBR, Polymer dispersion that widely used in situ is employed that the self-flowability may be induced in the cemen mortar. In order to comprehend and investigate the modification of cement mortar with self-flowability by SBR and properties and fracture mode of adhesive strength in tension of that, experimental parameter was set as SBR solid-Cement ratio(S/C) and Cement:Fine aggregate(C:F) and the experiments such as Unit weight, Flow, Consistency change, Crack resistance and Segregation that inform on the general properties have been done. In addition of that, Adhesion in tension is measured with a view to comprehending the properties and fracture mode in tensile load. Consistency change of cement mortar modified by SBR did grow better as the ratio of SBR solid-Cement increased and was much superior to that of resin based flooring such as polyurethane and epoxy which recorded the loss of consistency in 90min. after mixing. Adhesive strength in tension increased with continuity in the curing age and showed the maximum in case of C:F=1:1 and S/C=20%. As the increase of curing age, the fracture mainly happened in the concrete substrate and the interface between the specimen and concrete substrate.

  • In this paper, we proposed a thickness measurement method of concrete slab using GPR, and the verification of the suggested algorithm was carried out through real-scale experiment. The thickness measurement algorithm developed in this study is to set the relative dielectric constant based on the unique shape of parabola, and time series data can be converted to thickness information. GPR scanning were conducted in four types of slab structure for noise reduction, including finishing mortar, autoclaved lightweight concrete, and noise damping layer. The thickness obtained by GPR was compared with Boring data, and the average error was 1.95 mm. In order to investigate the effect of finishing materials on the slab, additional three types of finishing materials were placed, and the following average error was 1.70 mm. In addition, sampling interval from device, the effect of radius on the shape of parabola, and Boring error were comprehensively discussed. Based on the experimental verification, GPR scanning and the suggested algorithm have a great potential that they can be applied to the thickness measurement of finishing mortar from concrete slab with high accuracy.
