This study is on the design and performance evaluation of a multi medium access control(MAC) protocol for multimedia access in the wireless ATM network. In general, MAC protocols for multimedia data transmission are classified into the fixed slot allocation algorithm that allocates base-station slots equally over terminals, and the dynamic slot allocation algorithm that with flexible penetration. The conventional slot allocation algorithms assign slots based on the average bandwidths required for various services types. Although the algorithms have a wide bandwidth for real-time-variant services, the slots are being wasted due the service types. To improve the slot waste problem, this thesis proposes a method that minimizes the waste by assigning variable slots based on the most appropriate bandwidth after a base-station analyzes the service type requested from terminals.

With the success of Kindle, an electronic book reader developed by Amazon.com, there has been a growing interest in both electronic books and readers in Korea. In this paper, we analyze electronic book user needs through fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and conjoint analysis. First, we select the important factors which can affect the intention to purchase electronic book readers by applying the fuzzy AHP with the help of electronic book experts. Next, we perform conjoint analysis to reveal the detailed needs of electronic book users for each of the selected factors. Some useful implications and research limitations are also presented with future research directions.

The Hair part of Cosmetology is development with Ubiquitous age. In this paper, 1 would design and implement for Ubiquitous Hair Changing on Ubiquitous network. Hair artist have customer's features in use digital camera for operating hair beauty. They are agree with hair design and style in monitor on internet at customer's choose in digital contents of cut, permanent, up-style, dye, long hair from web server. After operation on customer's hair from image of mobile terminal, hair artists take a photograph of customer's face and update it on internet. Customer's features was saved in her's mobile terminal. I would contribute to development of Beauty Information Society that the design of Ubiquitous Hair Changing System and the implement of digital hair contents that on-line internet system Sl mobile terminal were applied by Ubiquitous Network.

21세기 산업 분야의 근간은 정보통신 산업이며 그 정보통신 기술의 두 축은 인터넷과 무선통신이다. 무선인터넷은 인터넷의 즉시성과 휴대전화와 개인정보단말기(PDA)의 이동성을 합한 개념으로 무선단말기를 통해 인터넷을 이용하거나 전자상거래를 할 수 있는 서비스이다. 무선인터넷은 사용자가 이동 중에도 무선망을 통해 인터넷에 접속, 원하는 서비스를 제공받을 수 있는 환경과 기술이라고 할 수 있다. 이처럼 무선인터넷의 핵심은 모바일 즉, 단순히 선이 없다는 의미가 아니라 이동중이라도 언제 어디서라도 인터넷에 접속이 가능하다는 것이다. 현재 국내 무선인터넷 시장은 각종 사업 제휴, 사업설명회, 세미나 등 무선인터넷과 관련해 활발히 움직이고 있고, 막대한 투자와 기술 개발 또한 지속적으로 진행되고 있다. 이처럼 이동통신사업자, 콘텐츠, 솔루션, 단말기 등의 거의 모든 사업자가 초기 시장 선점을 위한 경쟁이 치열하다. 무선인터넷은 이동통신과 인터넷 서비스의 결합으로 이동중에 무선으로 인터넷 정보를 송, 수신할 수 있는 서비스로서 이는 단순문자정보서비스(SMS)방식과 WAP 또는 ME 브라우저를 탑재한 무선인터넷 서비스 방식으로 구분할 수 있다. 무선인터넷은 차세대 이동통신(IMT-2000)과 접목되면서 기존 IT산업 자체를 전면 재편하게 될 것으로 전망되고있다. 하지만 무선인터넷 활성화를 위해서는 사업자들의 지속적인 기술 개발, 콘텐츠 개발, 요금 체계 개선 등도 중요하지만 정부의 정책적 배려와 무료에 익숙해져 있는 사용자들의 인식 변화 등 다양한 차원에서의 노력이 필요하다.

As Information communication technology develops, requirements for new educational media and new contents gets bigger and bigger. Especially PDA is required for educational media on m-learning environment. We design and implement intra-educational contents sequencing model and educational contents sequencing model between educational contents for PDA as educational supplementary media for m-learning environment, and LMS supporting PDA. And we balanced the work load of PDA and LMS and constructed practical service platform for using PDA as educational supplementary device.

최근 IT기술의 비약적인 발전과 더불어 사용자의 편의성을 극대화 시키는 웨어러블 컴퓨팅 기술이 주목을 받고 있다. 이러한 기술은 일반인뿐만 아니라 장애인들의 일상생활의 보조 도구에 활용되어 큰 도움이 될 것으로 예상된다. 본 논문에서는 시각 및 청각장애인을 위해 개발된 착용형 단말기들을 소개하고자 한다. 시각 장애인용 단말기인 SmartWand는 시각장애인용 지팡이에 부착하거나 손에 휴대할 수 있는 장치로, 시작장애인을 위한 보행 보조 및 색상과 명암 정보 인식 보조 기능을 갖춘 장치이다. SmarWand는 시각장애인이 보행 시 이용하는 기존의 지팡이로는 감지할 수 없는 전방의 장애물을 초음파 센서를 통해 탐지하여 촉각이나 음성으로 경고해주고, 물체의 색깔이나 주변의 밝기 정도를 측정하여 시각장애인에게 알려준다. 청각 장애인용 단말기인 SmarWatch는 손목에 착용하는 장치로서 아기 울음소리, 노크나 초인종 소리, 물 끓는 소리, 화재 경보 등 가정에서 발생하는 일상적인 소리를 인식할 수 있도록 해준다. SmartWatch는 입력 모듈의 마이크로 입력된 소리를 문선통신을 통해 컴퓨터로 전송한 후에 소리의 종류를 인식하고 적절한 제어신호를 다시 무선통신을 통해 전송받아 감지된 소리의 종류를 해당하는 진동과 시각정보로 표시해준다. 이런 착용형 단말기들을 통해 시각 및 청각 장애인의 일상 생활의 안정성과 편의성이 증대 되기를 기대한다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare subjective symptoms of VDT between computer-addicted and non-addicted adolescents. Method: A descriptive survey design was used and 646 students in one middle and two high schools were selected as participants. Result: The VDT subjective symptoms and degree of severity differed according to whether the students were computer-addicted or not, and in all symptoms, general, musculoskeletal, eye and mental, the mean score for subjective symptoms was higher in the addicted group than in the non-addicted group. The score for VDT subjective symptoms was highest in the addicted group for girls and students who were not healthy. The most frequent physical symptom reported by students who visited the school health room for a health problem after using the computer was headache. The most frequent type of treatment at the school health room was treatment of the symptom. Conclusions: This study suggests that students must acquire correct habits in computer use and be careful not to be addicted to the computer in order to avoid VDT syndrome. For this, educational authorities should develop computer-related health education programs and start the programs from the lower grades of elementary school.

컴퓨터 하드웨어 기술의 발달과 무선 통신 기술의 발달로 이제는 이동성을 제공하는 Mobile Computing이 각광을 받고 있다. 그러나 이와 같은 이동 단말기의 하드웨어적인 제약점과 무선 통신의 근본적인 제약점으로 인하여 아직까지 유선통신에서 제공하는 신뢰성 있고 고속의 네트워크 환경을 지원하지 못하고 있다. 이동 단말기들은 이동성을 보장하기 위하여 작고 가볍게 만들어야 한다. 이렇게 만들기 위해서는 배터리를 사용하고 적은 양의 디스크를 사용하게 된다. 이는 컴퓨터가 사용 가능한 자원 즉, CPU, Memory, Disk등이 고정 컴퓨터에 비해 빈약해지고 배터리의 사용으로 인한 갑작스러운 전원 공급의 중단으로 인한 하드웨어적인 신뢰성과 무선의 특성으로 인한 데이타 전송의 신뢰성이 낮아진다. 이와 같은 하드웨어 제약성과 무선의 문제점을 극복하기 위하여 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있는 데 그 중에서 사용자들에게 무선 이동환경을 인식하지 않고 컴퓨터를 사용할 수 있는 환경을 제공하는 방향으로 연구가 진행 중이다. 이들 연구 중에서 무선의 제약점인 낮은 전송 속도와 잦은 끊어짐 등을 극복하고 사용자가 고정 호스트의 대용량의 디스크를 투명하게 사용할 수 있도록 하는 방법이 바로 "Disconnected Operation"을 지원하는 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 disconnected operation을 지원하는데 가장 중요한 부분인 hoarding에 대하여 최근까지 연구된 기법들을 조사하고 이들 기법들이 가지는 문제점을 파악하고 새로운 hoarding algorithm을 제시하고자 한다.

재난문자 전송은 기지국에서 다수의 단말기로 재난문자를 전달하는 단방향 프로토콜인 CBS 긴급 재난문자 서비스를 이용한다. 이 CBS 전송 기법은 일대다(One-to-Many) 방식을 이용한다. 현 CBS 프로토콜은 일종의 방송 방식으로 기지국은 긴급재난문자를 수신한 단말기로부터 어떠한 확인 메시지도 전달받지 못한다. 그러나 재난관리기관은 효율적인 재난 대응을 위하여 재난지역의 재난문자 수신자로부터 유용한 정보를 전달받을 필요가 있다. 즉 CBS 재난문자를 수신한 단말기들로부터 재난관리기관 서버로 CBS 메시지에 대한 응답 메시지를 전달받는 방식으로 유용한 정보를 취합할 수 있다. 이러한 전달방식을 위해 다대일(many-to-one) 통신 기법이 고려된다.
