Motif를 이용한 선박개념설계 시스템용 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스의 개발

  • 이 연구의 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째로는 전통적인 선박의 개념설계 과정에 처음으로 GUI 개념이 도입되었다. 둘째로는 특정 GUI tool을 선정함에 있어서 그래픽 표준이라는 개념이 적용되었다. 따라서 이글에서 소개된 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스는 다음과 같은 좋은 점들을 갖고 있다. 우선, 설계하고자 하는 대상이 가시화되고, 설계 과정 자체도 가시화되므로, 설계자의 생 산성을 향상시키게 된다. 또한, 대부분의 작업이 마우스로 처리되고, 특수한 명령을 기억할 필 요가 없으므로 개발된 설계 시스템을 쉽게 이용할 수 있다. 즉, 사용자 교육이 간단하며, 원활한 사용을 위하여 많은 경험을 요구하지 않는다. 이것도 설계 생산성의 향상을 가져오는 인자가 된다. 사용자 인터페이스의 구축에 있어서 표준화된 부품들을 사용하였으므로 다른 EWS 환경 에도 쉽게 이식이 된다. 이것은 장치 독립성 (device independence) 또는 이식성(portability)라고 하며, 여러 가지 서로 다른 컴퓨터시스템을 사용하는 환경에서 절대적으로 요구되는 요소이다. 현재까지 개발된 사용자 인터페이스에 앞으로 추가되어야 할 사항들은 다음과 같다. 우선 한글화 작업이 추가되어야 한다. 현재로서는 영문으로 된 메뉴들이 사용되고 있으나, 현재 GUI 컨소시 움을 중심으로 진행되는 한글화 작업이 이용될 수 있겠다. 한글로 된 사용자 인터페이스는 설 계자들에게 더욱 편리할 것이다. 또 한 가지 추가할 것은 3차원 그래픽 기능이다. 선박이라는 구조물을 가시화하기 위해서는 3차원 그래픽 기능이 이용되어야 하고, 이미 PHIGS와 같은 국 제표준이 많이 사용되고 있다. 개념설계 단계에서는 2차원 그래픽의 기능만으로도 충분한 역할을 수행할 수 있지만, 그 다음 단계인 기본설계나 상세설계와의 자료 공유를 생각하면, 3차원 그래 픽이 필요하다. 다만, 3차원 그래픽 기능을 추가하기 위해 많은 노력이 요구되는데, 현재 PHIG S와 x-window가 결합되어 PEX라는 라이브러리로 개발되고 있으므로 차후의 연구에 포함될 수 있을 것이며, 이 글에서는 간단한 2차원 그래픽 기능만을 이용하였다. 앞으로 PEX의 기능을 적 절히 구사하면, 좋은 효과를 볼 수 있을 것이다.

  • Ubiquitous computing has had an effect to politics, economics, society, culture, education and so forth. For effective management of huge Ubiquitous networks environment, various computers which are connected to networks has to decide automatic optimum with intelligence. Currently in many areas, data mining has been used effectively to construct intelligent systems. We proposed a hybrid support vector machine for Ubiquitous data mining which realized intelligent Ubiquitous computing environment. Many data were collected by sensor networks in Ubiquitous computing environment. There are many noises in these data. The aim of proposed method was to eliminate noises from stream data according to sensor networks. In experiment, we verified the performance of our proposed method by simulation data for Ubiquitous sensor networks.

An Installation and Model Assessment of the UM, U.K. Earth System Model, in a Linux Cluster (U.K. 지구시스템모델 UM의 리눅스 클러스터 설치와 성능 평가)

  • The state-of-the-art Earth system model as a virtual Earth is required for studies of current and future climate change or climate crises. This complex numerical model can account for almost all human activities and natural phenomena affecting the atmosphere of Earth. The Unified Model (UM) from the United Kingdom Meteorological Office (UK Met Office) is among the best Earth system models as a scientific tool for studying the atmosphere. However, owing to the expansive numerical integration cost and substantial output size required to maintain the UM, individual research groups have had to rely only on supercomputers. The limitations of computer resources, especially the computer environment being blocked from outside network connections, reduce the efficiency and effectiveness of conducting research using the model, as well as improving the component codes. Therefore, this study has presented detailed guidance for installing a new version of the UM on high-performance parallel computers (Linux clusters) owned by individual researchers, which would help researchers to easily work with the UM. The numerical integration performance of the UM on Linux clusters was also evaluated for two different model resolutions, namely N96L85 (1.875° ×1.25° with 85 vertical levels up to 85 km) and N48L70 (3.75° ×2.5° with 70 vertical levels up to 80 km). The one-month integration times using 256 cores for the AMIP and CMIP simulations of N96L85 resolution were 169 and 205 min, respectively. The one-month integration time for an N48L70 AMIP run using 252 cores was 33 min. Simulated results on 2-m surface temperature and precipitation intensity were compared with ERA5 re-analysis data. The spatial distributions of the simulated results were qualitatively compared to those of ERA5 in terms of spatial distribution, despite the quantitative differences caused by different resolutions and atmosphere-ocean coupling. In conclusion, this study has confirmed that UM can be successfully installed and used in high-performance Linux clusters.

A Study on the Success Model for the Establishment of Big Data System in Public Institutions (공공기관 빅데이터 시스템 구축을 위한 성공모형에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to identify which factors affect successful big data system construction, identify the relationship between the factors, and identify the success model and success factors necessary for public institutions to build big data systems. Therefore, the preceding and related studies related to this study were reviewed, and success factors for the establishment of a big data system were derived based on this. As a research method, a survey was conducted on users of institutions that have established or planned to build a big data system, and a structural equation (AMOS) was conducted to verify the impact relationship between success factors. As a result of the analysis, organizational support factors, development support factors, user support factors, information quality, service quality, system quality, use, and net benefit were derived as success factors for building big data systems, and a success model was presented. This can be seen as significant and academic contributions in that it is the first study of the success model for building an information system reflecting big data characteristics, and it is expected that this study will be used as basic data for building a big data system in public institutions in the future.

Analysis on the Chatting Language of Elementary School Students (초등학생들이 사용하는 채팅 언어의 분석)

  • In this research, we analyze chatting language of elementary school students, present the properties which are a result of this analysis and propose the method to solve it. Analysis on the chatting language considering organic relation of sentences is classified into syntactic, semantic and statistical characteristics. As a result of analysis, new characteristics is discovered writing by the way children pronounce their words, writing by switching the order of syllable's frontal and rear ends, inarticulate conversation of the other man. To minimize language misuse and to establish a chatting culture that is favorable to the development of children's emotional development, we propose the methods of computer system.

Developing an IT Course Utilizing Raspberry Pi (라즈베리파이를 활용한 IT 교과목 개발)

  • IT technologies are closely related to our daily life, and we are experiencing the emergence of new IT devices every day. The ongoing rapid progress of IT technology results in the increasing demand of experienced software & hardware engineers, and leads to the short life cycle of lab kits. However, the normally small to medium sized manufacturers of lab kits usually cannot even afford to support timely update and upgrade of their own kits. In this paper, we propose a way of effectively running an IT course by building a Raspberry Pi based kit. Raspberry Pi has features that allow us to not only timely update/upgrade the kit, but also expose students to various IT fields.

  • CAD system is a very important technology in designing the products which we are using today. This CAD technology has been enlarging its area into 3D CAD systems with the development of computer graphics technologies. In particular, such advances have been realized in special area such as the CAD system for designing shoes. However, because it is difficult to design a 3D CAD system, most CAD developments except for major CAD software companies usually have employed the AutoCAD which realizes 3D concepts. Also, many shoes' designers have been skilled with 2D shoe CAD systems and then they can make high achievements. Therefore, we design a new shoe CAD system with advantages of 2D CAD system and 3D CAD system. We also implement the scheme to transfer the data between 2D CAD system and 3D CAD system and also grading technologies to get patterns of various shoes size from a basic shoe's design.

  • The software development process (SDP) plays an important basic role in software engineering education. Every software is developed in accordance with a specific SDP which contains all phases of software development. SDP education helps students to understand the overall techniques and the process of software engineering. This paper introduces a software development methodology (i.e., process) - 'OOPT (Object Oriented Process with Traceability),' which was proposed for use in university software engineering classes. The OOPT is based on object-oriented software development, and it defines concrete requirements as well as outputs of each process/phases. It also contains the unit/system testing and a traceability analysis. We have used the OOPT in software engineering classes at Konkuk university for eight years. This paper conveys our experience as well as future extension and improvement plans.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to develop a standard for drawing up DTD files and making them about information of students easily. By projecting DTD and embodying a file generator which can generate XML files about information of students, we can have good effects as follows. We can share information about the management of students to correspond to big changes of circumstance in education of school caused by the advent of computers and webs. Teachers can lesson their work and have a chance to devote themselves to teaching. DTD for making XML files about information of students was designed on the basis of the spirit of the 7th school curriculum. We can give and receive same kinds of information about students from school to school.

Requirements Analysis for an Adaptive Courseware (적응형 코스웨어를 위한 요구 분석)

  • This study looks for the requirements for adaptive courseware and provides background for developing effective adaptive courseware. Most adaptive courseware does not adequately reflect the requirements of learners. If it properly reflected learners' requirements well, it could be used more effectively. therefore, this study analyzes and suggests the requirements of an adaptive courseware for pre-service teachers who are majoring in computer education. The study methods were factor analysis and frequency analysis through survey. The results show that the important elements of an adaptive courseware are a learning style designed according to individual differences as well as an instruction model appropriate to the subject domain. The study examined adaption by learner level, by learning objective, by learning style, by method of learning content, and by learning history in that order. Therefore while the most of adaptive courseware support learning style; we propose that the adaptive courseware will support learning objects and instruction model as well.
