Preference-based Multi Color Picker Using color database (컬러 데이터베이스를 이용한 선호도 기반 컬러 선택 인터페이스)

  • Color plays a fundamental and important role in various areas, it has become important to choose colors which fits the purpose and also harmonious. The goal of this study is to reduce the difficulties of choosing the color and get the colors with high satisfaction when users want to choose multiple colors. To do this, we extracted and analysed a large number of colors in color database. And We designed an interface applied to high preference color combination rule. We also evaluated the usability and user satisfaction of the interface. The results showed that the functionality of the developed interface is more useful and is more satisfied than that of the conventional interface.

텍스타일 영상에서의 감성 기반 검색 시스템

  • 본 논문에서는 감성 기반으로 텍스타일을 자동으로 색인하고 검색 할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 영상 수집기, 감성 색인기, 검색기(Matcher), 질의 인터페이스로 구성되어 있다. 감성 색인기는 텍스타일 영상에 포함된 컬러와 패턴 정보를 기반으로 감성개념을 인식하고, 이를 이용하여 영상을 색인한다. 이때, 감성 어휘로 고바야시가 정의한 8개 (romantic, natural, casual, elegant, chic, classic, dandy, modern)를 사용한다. 질의 인터페이스에서 사용자는 두 가지 방식으로 질의를 선택할 수 있다. 첫 번째 방법은 감성 키워드를 사용하는 것이고, 두 번째는 사용자의 의도를 설명할 수 있는 영상을 이용하는 예제 기반 질의 방식이다. 질의가 주어지면, 검색기는 랭킹 알고리즘을 사용하여 검색 결과를 생성한다. 이 때, 유사도 비교방식은 선택된 질의방식에 따라 달라진다. 제안된 시스템의 성능을 검증하기 위해 웹 검색에 익숙한 50명(남자: 32명, 여자: 18명)을 대상으로 웹에서 수집한 3,416 장에 대해서 3가지 항목으로 사용자 평가를 하였다. 사용자 평가의 항목인 적합도(Relevance), 노력(Search Effort), 만족도(Satisfaction)의 결과로 사용자가 검색한 결과영상에서 적합도의 수치가 낮게 나왔지만, 만족도와 노력의 수치는 높게 평가되었다. 제안된 시스템에서 사용자는 자신이 선호하는 결과 영상을 상위 40개의 영상 내에서 얻을 수 있었다. 이는 제안된 시스템이 사용자들이 원하는 영상을 효율적으로 검색할 수 있다는 것을 증명했다.

Performance Analysis of 3D Color Picker in Virtual Reality (가상현실 3차원 색상 선택기의 성능 분석)

  • In a virtual environment, a 3D workspace and 3D interaction are possible, but most virtual reality applications use a 2D color picker. This paper implements a 3D color picker based on 3D color space in a virtual environment, and compares color selection performance with the existing 2D color picker. The 3D color picker is intuitive by using the 3D color space as it is, and it can position the 3D pointer at a specific point in the color space using a controller, which is a virtual reality device, so a user can select a color in one step. On the other hand, the 2D color picker has the advantage of being familiar with existing users who work with colors in a computer environment, but has a disadvantage that requires several steps of user interaction since it has to set color properties through 2D interfaces. Based on user experiments, we confirmed the usefulness of a 3D color picker in addition to a 2D color picker in a virtual environment, and it was possible to perform natural 3D work in a virtual environment using the 3D color picker.

A study on the type of navigation interface design for information search in e-commerce (이커머스에서 정보 탐색을 위한 네비게이션 인터페이스 디자인 유형 연구)

  • In this study, information search methods and user interface types provided to users were investigated for the top 100 e-commerce services selected by Statista and the National Retail Federation. And the characteristics of each type were derived by analyzing the interaction method of the user's manipulation with the visualization elements constituting the interface. The research results are as follows. First, as the information provision method, spread format was more often used as the number and hierarchy of information increased, and drop-down and mega menu methods were used more often as the number and hierarchy of information decreased. Second, as a visual classification method according to the information hierarchy, the background color, font change, and line were often used, and there were many cases where the background color and line were used at the same time. Third, there were various elements such as background color, text color, and line as an interaction method for user manipulation, and two or more of them were applied at the same time the most. This study is meaningful in that it defines the characteristics of each type through the analysis of the types of interfaces for e-commerce information search and items that can be the selection criteria for detailed elements.

Mean Shift Clustering을 이용한 영상 검색결과 개선

  • 본 논문에서는 감성 공간에서 mean shift clustering과 user feedback을 이용하여 영상 검색 결과를 개선하기 위한 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 사용자 인터페이스, 감성 공간 변환, 검색결과 순위 재지정(re-ranking)으로 구성된다. 사용자 인터페이스는 텍스트 형태의 질의 입력과 감성 어휘 선택에 따른 user feedback에 의해 개선된 검색결과를 보인다. 사용된 감성 어휘는 고바야시가 정의한 romantic, natural, casual, elegant, chic, classic, dandy, modern 등의 8개 어휘를 사용한다. 감성 공간 변환 단계에서는 입력된 질의에 따라 웹 영상 검색 엔진(Yahoo)에 의해 검색된 결과 영상들에 대해 컬러와 패턴정보의 특징을 추출하고, 이를 입력으로 하는 8개의 각 감성별 분류기에 의해 각 영상은 8차원 감성 공간으로의 특징 벡터로 변환된다. 이때 감성 공간으로 변환된 특징 벡터들은 mean shift clustering을 통해 군집화 되고, 그 결과로써 대표 클러스터를 찾게 된다. 검색결과 순위 재지정 단계에서는 user feedback 유무에 따라 대표 클러스터의 평균 벡터와 user feedback에 의해 생성된 사용자 감성 벡터에 의해 검색 결과를 개선할 수 있다. 이때 각 기준에 따라 유사도가 결정되고 검색결과 순위가 재지정 된다 제안된 시스템의 성능을 검증하기 위해 7개의 질의의 각 400장, 총 2,800장에 대한 Yahoo 검색 결과와 제안된 시스템을 개선된 검색 결과를 비교하였다.

Color Image Segmentation and Textile Texture Mapping of 2D Virtual Wearing System (2D 가상 착의 시스템의 컬러 영상 분할 및 직물 텍스쳐 매핑)

  • This paper is related to color image segmentation and textile texture mapping for the 2D virtual wearing system. The proposed system is characterized as virtually wearing a new textile pattern selected by user to the clothing shape section, based on its intensity difference map, segmented from a 2D clothes model image using color image segmentation technique. Regardless of color or intensity of model clothes, the proposed system is possible to virtually change the textile pattern or color with holding the illumination and shading properties of the selected clothing shape section, and also to quickly and easily simulate, compare, and select multiple textile pattern combinations for individual styles or entire outfits. The proposed system can provide higher practicality and easy-to-use interface, as it makes real-time processing possible in various digital environment, and creates comparatively natural and realistic virtual wearing styles, and also makes semi-automatic processing possible to reduce the manual works to a minimum. According to the proposed system, it can motivate the creative activity of the designers with simulation results on the effect of textile pattern design on the appearance of clothes without manufacturing physical clothes and, as it can help the purchasers for decision-making with them, promote B2B or B2C e-commerce.

  • This paper is related to an Object VR-based virtual textile wearing system carrying out textile texture mapping based on viewpoint vector estimation and intensity difference map. The proposed system is characterized as capable of virtually wearing a new textile pattern selected by the user to the clothing shape section segmented from multi-view 2D images of clothes model for Object VR(Object Virtual Reality), and three-dimensionally viewing its virtual wearing appearance at multi-view points of the object.   • We have implemented image monitoring system on PXA255 processor based embedded board that is ported QT/Embedded 2.3.7 version. User is able to monitor camera's capture image for widely separated host PC at client PXA255 board target board by ethernet communication method. And we designed PCI interface card that control motor for camera's Pan & Tilt. Bitmap format's images of $320\times{240}$ size are displayed on PXA255 board's TFT-LCD and User is able to monitor wanted position's image by touch screen input method.

  • Watching a program on IPTV among the numerous choices from the internet requires a burden of searching and browsing for a favorite one. This paper introduces a new concept called Mosaic Map and presents how it provides preview information of image map links to other programs. In Mosaic Map the pixels in the still image are used both as shading the background and as thumbnails which can link up with other programs. This kind of contextualized preview of choices can help IPTV users to associate the image with related programs without making visual saccades between watching IPTV and browsing many choices. The experiments showed that the Mosaic Map reduces the time to complete search and browsing, comparing to the legacy menu and web search.

A Method of Hand Recognition for Virtual Hand Control of Virtual Reality Game Environment (가상 현실 게임 환경에서의 가상 손 제어를 위한 사용자 손 인식 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a control method of virtual hand by the recognition of a user's hand in the virtual reality game environment. We display virtual hand on the game screen after getting the information of the user's hand movement and the direction thru input images by camera. We can utilize the movement of a user's hand as an input interface for virtual hand to select and move the object. As a hand recognition method based on the vision technology, the proposed method transforms input image from RGB color space to HSV color space, then segments the hand area using double threshold of H, S value and connected component analysis. Next, The center of gravity of the hand area can be calculated by 0 and 1 moment implementation of the segmented area. Since the center of gravity is positioned onto the center of the hand, the further apart pixels from the center of the gravity among the pixels in the segmented image can be recognized as fingertips. Finally, the axis of the hand is obtained as the vector of the center of gravity and the fingertips. In order to increase recognition stability and performance the method using a history buffer and a bounding box is also shown. The experiments on various input images show that our hand recognition method provides high level of accuracy and relatively fast stable results.
