Simulation of Interaction Forces between Two Ships Considering Ship's Dimension (선박의 크기를 고려한 두 선박의 간섭력에 관한 시뮬레이션)

  • This paper analyzed the motion characteristics of two ships according to the ship's dimension using Ship Handling Simulator. When the panamax container ship passes the smaller ship, peak point and patterns of interaction forces for the moored ship are noticeable. Accordingly, special attention should be paid to the movements of moored ship because surge force and yaw moment changes in the opposite direction before and after condition of ship's beam. However, when the container ship passes the larger moored ship in reverse, peak point stood out on the passing ship at the beginning of ship-to-ship interaction and attraction force on the passing ship occurred steadily during 1L(length overall of passing ship) interval at a point of beam. In addition, as the lateral distance between the hull of two ships decreases less than 2B(breadth of passing ship), interaction forces on the passing ship at the beginning are sharply increase.

  • The aim of this paper is to determine the replacement time of containerships in economical viewpoint. Especially, there was a lot of vagueness to the cost data for calculation of an economical life in a containership. For this, a fuzzy number used to express the vague nature about a cost data. This paper developed the fuzzy cost model using fuzzy numbers, and to analyze more practically than the existing cost model. And the proposal model used to decide the economical life about various kinds of containerships.

Hull Form Development for 200TEU Class Sea-River Going Container Ship (200TEU급 연안-하천 연계 컨테이너선의 선형개발)

  • The purpose of present study is to find an appropriate hull shape of a container ship which can operate along the coast and through canals. A 200TEU class container ship is designed with dimensional modifications of an existing 140TEU container ship which is a domestic coastwise vessel. For the fore-body shape including bulbous bow. additional modification is done by changing the sectional area curve and frameline shape using the data of series resistance test. The model tests are performed in the towing tank to measure total resistance sinkage and trim of the model. And a finite-difference method based on MAC method is utilized to analyze the flow field around the ships in deep and restricted water. From the result of model test and numerical analysis, the resistance characteristics of the designed hull form are predicted.

Identifier Extraction of Shipping Container Images using Enhanced Binarization and Contour Tracking Algorithm (개선된 이진화와 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘을 이용한 운송 컨테이너의 식별자 추출)

  • The extraction and recognition of shipping container's identifier is difficult since the scale or the location of identifiers are not fixed-form and input images have some external noises. In this paper, based on these facts, first, edges are detected from input images using canny masking, and regions of container's Identifiers are extracted by applying horizontal and vertical histogram method to canny masked images. We use a fuzzy thresholding method to binaries the extracted container's identifier regions, and contour tracking algorithm to extract individual identifiers. In experimental results, we confirmed that the proposed method is superior In performance.

Study on Hydrodynamic Forces Acting on a Very Large Container Vessel at Lower Depths in Both Still Water and Waves (정수중 및 파랑중 저수심에서의 초대형 컨테이너선에 작용하는 유체력 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the size of container ships has been progressively increasing, and much attention is required for safe navigation in shallow areas such as coastal waters and ports due to increases in draft. It is necessary to understand the characteristics of ship motion not only in still waters but also with waves. Especially in shallow regions, squat due to the vertical movement of the ship can be an important evaluation factor for the safe navigation, and wave drift force acting in the horizontal direction can have a great influence on the maneuverability of a ship. In this study, a numerical simulation using computational fluid dynamics has been performed for the wave exciting force acting in the vertical direction and the wave drift force acting in the horizontal direction for a very large container vessel sailing in shallow zone. As a result, it was found that total resistance in still waters greatly increased in shallow water. Wave drift force was shown to decrease given longer wavelengths regardless of water depth. It was observed that the wave exciting force in shallow water was considerably larger than at other water depths. As wave height against the central part of the ship lowered, the aft side rose.

Identifiers Recognition of Container Image Using Morphological Characteristic and FCM-based Fuzzy RBF Networks (형태학적 특성과 FCM 기반 퍼지 RBF 네트워크를 이용한 컨테이너 식별자 인식)

  • 우리나라의 항만은 수 출입화물의 99.5%를 처리하며, 육로 및 철도 수송 물동량의 기종점 역할을 수행하는 중요한 곳으로서 항만 물동량의 신속한 처리와 자동화 시스템에 의한 비용절감은 엄청난 효과를 가져온다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 항만에서 취급하는 컨테이너를 자동으로 식별할 수 있는 자동화 방법을 제안한다. 실제 컨테이너 영상을 그레이 영상으로 변환한 후, 프리윗 마스크(Prewitt-Mask)를 적용하여 윤곽선을 추출하고 컨테이너를 식별할 수 있는 개별 식별자의 형태학적 특징 정보를 이용하여 식별자 후보영역을 검출한다. 검출된 식별자 후보영역은 개별 식별자 영역외에 잡음 영역이 포함되어 있으므로 4방향 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘과 Grassfire 알고리즘을 적용하여 잡음을 제거하고 개별 식별자들을 각각 객체화한다. 잡음이 제거된 식별자 후보 영역에서 객체화 한 개별 식별자는 컨테이너 식별을 위해 FCM 기반 퍼지 RBF 네트워크를 적용하여 인식한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 컨테이너 식별자 인식 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위해 실제 컨테이너 영상 300장을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 기존의 방법보다 인식 성능이 개선되었음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 부산신항의 서컨테이너 터미널 개장에 따라 부산신항을 통항하는 초대형선박들의 위험도가 증가할 것으로 예상되며 이 증가 정도에 대하여 계산하여 분석하였다. 또한 도선사 견해를 통하여 서컨테이너 터미널 개장으로 인한 위해요소를 사전에 식별하여 안전운항에 이바지하고자 하였다.
