A Study on Tooth Profile Error in Internal Gear Shaping (내치차 절삭시의 치형오차에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the simulation program is developed where the tooth profile error in internal gear shaping is calculated considering several factors which affect it. This factors are the circular feed of the pinion cutter, the interference by the geometric conditions of the cutter and the internal gear, the deviation from the theoretical involute profile of the cutter and the eccentricity of the cutter and the internal gear. With this program, the effects are investigated which the geometric conditions and the cutting conditions in internal gear shaping have on the tooth profile error of the internal gear. The condition for the minimization of it is derived and then the results of simulation are adequately verified by measurements of internal gears cut by a pinion cutter.

  • The purpose of this paper is to design cutter profiles for manufacturing rotors of screw compressor, which are based on universal milling machine. The surface profile of screw rotor which is helicoidal is derived as brief equation through the coordinates transformation of the section perpendicular to rotor axis. And the equations of contact lines between a cutter and the surface profile of screw rotor are derived. The computer program which can analyze the equation of contact lines numerically and design the cutter profiles of screw rotor is made, and verified through measuring screw rotors which are menufactured as the designed cutter by the computer program.

  • A composite gear with involute-circular are tooth profile and a tooth profile of the rack to cut this gear are theoretictically obtained. The composite gear has involute tooth profile in the vicinity of pitch point and has circular arc tooth profiles at addendum adn dedendum. The contact ratio(M$_{c}$), chordal tooth thickness (chordal tip tooth thickness S$_{t}$, chordal root tooth thickness S$_{t}$) of the composite gear are compared with those of involute gear. When module, number of teeth and pressure angle eqaul, S$_{t}$ of composite gear is much larger than that of involute gear. Under the same conditions, S/sib t/ and M$_{c}$ of composite gear become smaller than those of involute gear.lute gear.

  • This paper deals with strength analysis of tooth and method of manufacture of external tooth profile in harmonic drive. From the calculation of load imposed on the contact teeth, moximum contact stress is investigated to design the addendum modification coefficient. New tooth profile of the external gear is generated according to the law of gearing, assuming that internal gear has involute tooth profile. External tooth profile can't be manufactured by conventional exclusive tools which have pressure angle of 20$\circ$. The method to design cutter tooth profile is presented.

Design of Cutter Profile and the Characteristics of Vibration for Symmetric Screw Rotor (대칭형스크류로터의 커터설계와 진동특성에 관한 연구)

  • We designed the cutter profile for symmetric screw rotor and did vibration experiment of screw rotor manufactured by the designed cutter profile. The results of this study are summarized as follows. (1) We designed the cutter profile of screw rotor (4-6)(5-6) by using numerical analysis program. (2) The maximum amplitude and variation of amplitude of 5-6 profile rotor are about 30 - 36.7% and 10 - 25% smaller than those of 4-6 profile rotor, respectively. (3) As the angular velocity of rotor changes from 100 to 300 rpm, the vibration of X, Y axis in driving shaft of 5-6 profile rotor is about 10 - 20% smaller than that of 4-6 profile rotor.

  • In this study, we designed tooth profile of the fly-cutter for antisymmetric rotor which is used in screw compressor. In order to verify this profile, we manufactured three different pairs(J46, N46, P46) of antisymmetric rotor using fly-cutter. We got the following conclusions from this study. (1) We obtained better contact condition using 3pairs of rotor which are manufactured by the fly-cutter. (2) We could prevent the cutter interference near bottom point of the robe of screw rotor.

Howere the processing method of screw rotor and the cutter design for screw rotor were not studied. Therefor we could not make the shape of the screw rotor designed by profile function with computer. In this study we have made cutter profile design program and manufactured cutters for screw rotors using H.S.S We machined screw rotors of symmetric 4x6 profile non-sysmmetric 4x6 profile with almighty milling machine.
