  • The Capstone design, has become one of the most important topics in engineering education. The Capstone Design a course with a different format from the traditional form of education and, by integrating the training learned in the course of expertise. Through it, you will learn how to analyze and design solutions to possible problems arising from industry. It can improve the practical skills required in the industry. The students can participate in the educational process according to the pre-prepared curriculum, rather than passively receiving the education in the form of an active. In this paper, we check the operating status for the Capstone Design Education. The future, through the satisfaction evaluation model Capstone Design Capstone Design effective management plan is presented.

Functional Characterization of Phosphorylation of the Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) Nucleocapsid Protein (PRRS 바이러스 Nucleocapsid 단백질 인산화의 기능학적 연구)

  • The nucleocapsid (N) protein of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is a basic multifunctional protein which has been reported to be a serine phosphoprotein with yet-identified functions. As a first step towards understanding the general role of N protein phosphorylation during virus replication, the non-phosphorylated mutant N gene was constructed by mutating all serine residues to alanine. This recombinant N protein was identified to be unphosphorylated, confirming that serine residues truly function as core amino acids responsible for N protein phosphorylation. The PRRSV N protein has been shown to possess the biological features of nuclear localization and N-N homodimerization which individually play critical roles in virus infection. In the present study, therefore, it was attempted to investigate whether these two properties of the N protein are modulated by its phosphorylation status. However, experimental results showed that the non-phosphorylated N protein was still present in the nucleus and nucleolus, and was able to associate with itself by non-covalent interactions. Taken together, the data suggest phosphorylation-independent regulation of N protein nuclear transport or oligomerization, thereby implying the potential involvement of phosphorylation in regulating the activities of the N protein at other levels including RNA-binding capacity.

  • The Capstone Design courses in the final academic year of undergraduate engineering education provide students with a realistic design experience in which they can integrate and capitalize on the basic disciplinary material they have learned during their engineering program to synthesize a new product, device or process. The objective of this study is to assess the student satisfaction of Capstone Design courses. This paper briefly describes the history, administration and implementation of the Capstone Design courses in engineering colleges of Korea. It highlights the weaknesses of the Capstone Design courses and suggests improvements. To investigate the student satisfaction questionnaire was surveyed.

A Teaching Model for Capstone Design Class in English Education (영어수업에서의 캡스톤디자인 수업 모델)

  • The purpose of this study is (1) to present a model for Capstone design class in English education, and (2) to recognize students' performance and perceptions about Capstone design class in English education. The participants were senior students majoring in English education. The Capstone design class model was developed, applied, and evaluated after changing 'English-American Culture' subject to 'Capstone Design for English-American Culture Education.' In this study, the class design, performance procedures, derived topics, and examples of performance outcomes were presented. The classes were also evaluated through an understanding evaluation of English-American culture, task performance and final outcome evaluation, a descriptive satisfaction assessment of students, a lecture evaluation, and a teacher's self-reflection assessment. As the result, the average score of a class that applies Capstone design was higher than that of a class that does not apply the Capstone design. There were many positive opinions regarding the Capstone design class. In addition, the teacher's self-reflection indicated that students should be exposed to such design from the beginning.

The Development of a Design Thinking-based Capstone Design Instructional Model for Pre-service Teachers (예비교사를 위한 디자인싱킹 기반 캡스톤디자인 교수설계모형 개발)

  • This study was conducted for the purpose of developing a design thinking-based capstone design instructional model for pre-service teachers. Through the analysis of literature related to learner-centered instruction, design thinking and capstone design instructional design principles and instructional models for pre-service teacher education were discovered, and core elements were derived. Based on the core elements derived through literature analysis, the capstone design instructional design model and teaching and learning model based on design thinking for pre-service teachers were developed. The developed model conducted a total of three Delphi surveys including expert validation for 6 experts related to education including design thinking, capstone design, was revised, supplemented, and the final draft was confirmed. The final results of this study contain the overall contents of the instructional design, instructor's activities in detailed steps, and guidelines for learners' activities.

Case Study on Industry-Academia Cooperation Capstone Design: Focusing on Information and Communication Engineering (산학협력 캡스톤디자인 운영사례 연구: 정보통신공학 중심으로)

  • The graduation project, which is the final results of the capstone design course, is not only the highest peak in university major education, but also criteria of the practical skills of fourth grader who is supposed to get a job in the future. Therefore, it is needed to operate a capstone design course that reflects industry requirements and its support system for cooperation with industry. In this study, we present a case of the capstone design course and the industry-academic capstone design program at the department of Information and Communication Engineering in Sungkyul University. At the time being transitioned from offline to online class due to COVID-19, we evaluate results of the capstone design class over the past three years and induce improvements for the further operation of the class. This study may contribute to be a practical reference for ICT-related departments that attempt to apply social demands in their capstone design course through industry-academic cooperation

Analysis of Group Pile-Cap Interaction by Load Transfer Approach (하중전이법에 의한 말뚝-캡 상호작용 해석)

  • 본 연구에서는 말뚝-지반, 말뚝-캡 상호작용을 고려한 군말뚝 거동을 해석하는 효율적인 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 단독말뚝의 말뚝-지반 상호작용은 하중전이법을 사용하여 비선형적인 특성을 갖는 지반스프링(p-y, t-z, q-z 곡선등)을 이용하여 모델링하였으며 Beam-column 방법을 이용하여 말뚝-지반 시스템을 수치적으로 모델링하였다. 좀 더 실제적인 군말뚝의 해석을 위해서 지반-말뚝-지반 상호작용에 의한 그룹효과와 더불어 군말뚝 내에서 말뚝의 위치 및 말뚝과 말뚝캡의 결합조건에 따른 말뚝-캡 상호작용에 의한 효과를 고려하였다. 본 연구에서는 말뚝-캡의 상호작용에 중점을 두었으며 Beam-column 방법을 이용하여 이를 해석할 수 있는 타당한 수치해석적 방법을 개발하고자 하였다. 개발된 알고리즘을 수치해석 예제를 통해 비교, 검증하였다.

  • In this paper, we proposed to the inspection algorithm for cap, Electric fuse is an over current and circuit protection device which is occurred in electric & electronic appliance. Also the fuse are protection the second hazard at arc etc. Fuse are interest regarding a safety increased. Consequently, the fuse came to be very important. Cap inspection algorithm is designed for the cap of fuse. CCD camera is monitering the solder of cap distribution map. The conditioning of fuse cap; suming all searching data with non solder area. the area is bigger reference data then the cap is bad cap.

  • This paper discusses the creative capstone design education in Kongju National University and introduce a new operational capstone design education method. The result products are evaluated by self-evaluation and performance assessment that is based on the operational method and procedure of the project. The capstone design teams are comprised of 2~3 students with a individual major accomplishments. All teams are satisfied the criteria of evaluation. And their's self-satisfaction and questionaries are totally 3.88~4.44 point out of 5. Compared with the conduct of previous capstone design project that was not the industry affiliate, it provides students with industrial experience in design and development of industrial solution. And industrial partner must provide funds for student team to design, fabrication and test in next time.
