An Auto-Switching Dual-Input Energy Harvesting Circuit (자동 스위칭 기능을 갖는 이중입력 에너지 하베스팅 회로)

  • In this paper an auto-switching dual-input energy harvesting circuit is proposed. Since the maximum power points of a thermoelectric generator(TEG) output and a vibration device(PEG) output is 1/2 of their open-circuit voltage, an identical MPPT controller can be used for both energy sources. The proposed circuit monitors the outputs of the TEG and PEG, and chooses the energy source generating a higher output using an auto-switching controller, and then harvests the maximum power from the selected device using a MPPT controller. The harvested energy is boosted through a charge pump and stored in a storage capacitor. The stored energy is provided to a load through a PMU(Power Management Unit). The proposed circuit is designed in a $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process and its functionality has been verified through extensive simulations. The designed chip occupies $1.4mm{\times}1.2mm$ including pads.

  • In the era of the 4th industrial revolution symbolized by the Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence, various embedded devices are increasing exponentially. These devices have communication functions despite their low specifications, so the possibility of personal information leakage is increasing, and security threats are also increasing. Embedded devices can have security issues at most levels, from hardware to services over the network. In addition, it is difficult to apply general security techniques because it has characteristics of resource constraints such as low specifications and low power, and the related technology has not been standardized. In this study, we present vulnerabilities and possible problems and considerations in applying SDN to embedded devices in consideration of structural characteristics and real-world discovered cases. This study presents vulnerabilities and possible problems and considerations when applying SDN to embedded devices. From a hardware perspective, we consider the problems of Wi-Fi chips and Bluetooth, the problems of open flow implementation, SDN controllers, and examples of structural properties. SDN separates the data plane and the control plane, and provides a standardized interface between the two, enabling efficient communication control. It can respond to the security limitations of existing network technologies that are difficult to respond to rapid changes.

  • In this paper, a new on-chip aging sensing circuit based on flip-flops is proposed to detect a circuit failure of MOSFET digital circuits casued by aging phenomenon such as HCI and BTI. The proposed circuit uses timing windows to warn against a guardband violation of sequential circuits, and generates three warning bits right before circuit failures occur. The generated bits can apply to an adaptive self-tuning method for reliable system design as control signals. The aging sensor circuit has been implemented using 0.11um CMOS technology and evaluated by $4{\times}4$ multiplier with power gating structure.

  • In this paper, a novel Integer-N phase-delay locked loop(P DLL) architecture has been proposed using a voltage controlled delay line(VCDL). The P DLL can have the LF of one small capacitance instead of the conventional second or third-order LF. The size of chip is $255{\mu}m$ $\times$ $935.5{\mu}m$ including the LF. The proposed P DLL has been designed based on a 1.8V $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process and proved by HSPICE simulation.

  • Recently, a fuel cell with low voltage and high current output characteristics is remarkable for new generation system It needs both a DC-DC step-up converter and DC-AC inverter to be used in fuel cell generation system Therefor, this paper, consists of an isolated DC -DC converter to boost the fuel cell voltage 380[$V_{DC}$] and a PWM inverter with LC filter to convent the DC voltage to single phase 220[$V_{AC}$]. Expressly, a tapped inductor filter with freewheeling diode is newly implemented in the output filter of the proposed high frequency isolated ZVZCS PWM DC-DC converter to suppress circulating current under the wide output voltage regulation range, thus to eliminate the switching and transformer turn-on/off over-short voltage or transient phenomena Besides the efficiency of 93-97[%]is obtained over the wide output voltage regulation ranges and load variations.

  • 본 논문에서는 영상 항법 변수 추출 알고리듬의 실시간 구현에 관해 연구하였다. 영상 항법 변수 추출 알고리듬은 이전 위치를 기준으로 현재 위치를 추정해내는 상대위치 추정 알고리듬과 상대위치 추정에 의해 누적되는 오차를 보정하기 위한 절대위치 보정 알고리듬으로 구성된다. 절대위치 보정 알고리듬은 고해상도 영상과 IRS (Indian Remote Sensing) 위성영상을 기준영상으로 이용하는 방법 및 DEM (Digital Elevation Model) 을 이용하는 방법으로 구성된다. 하이브리드 영상 항법 변수 추출 알고리듬을 실시간으로 구현하기 위해 MVP (Multimedia Video Processor)로 명명된 TMS320C80 DSP (Digital Signal Processor) 칩을 사용하였다. 구현된 시스템은 MVP의 부동 소수점 프로세서인 MP (Master Processor) 를 고정 소수점 프로세서인 PP (Parallel Processor) 를 제어하거나 삼각함수 계산과 같은 부동 소수점 함수를 계산하는데 사용하였고, 대부분의 연산은 PP를 사용하여 수행하였다. 처리시간이 많이 필요한 모듈에 대해서는 고속 알고리듬을 개발하였고, 4개의 PP를 효율적으로 사용하기 위한 영상분할 방법에 대해 제안하였다. 비행체에서 캡코더를 이용해 촬영한 연속 항공 영상과 비행체의 자세정보를 입력으로 실시간 시뮬레이션 하였다. 실험결과는 하이브리드 항법 변수 추출 알고리듬의 실시간 구현이 효과적으로 구현되었음을 나타내고 있다.

  • This paper presents a design of 8B/10B encoder by the coding table reduction. The proposed encoder has reduced coding table modified disparity control block. Logic simulation and synthesis have been done for the proposed design. After synthesized using Magna CMOS $0.18{\mu}m$ process, the proposed design achieved the operating frequency of 343MHz and chip area of $1886{\mu}m^2$.

Development of a Simple Autonomous Vehicle for Greenhouse Works (온실용 간이 자율주행 작업차의 개발)

  • This study was conducted to developed to develop a simple battery-powered autonomous vehicle for greenhouse works. A steering method using speed difference of two independent driving motors was adopted. DC motor driving circuit, speed control circuit and controller using one-chip microcomputer were constructed. The inputs of controller are rolling of the vehicle and current speed of driving motors. Using these signals, automatic guidance system along furrow was developed. A computer simulation program by the kenematic analysis was developed to find out optimal control algorithm. The results of this study are as follows. 1. Automatic guidance system along the furrow that adopted two independent driving motors and rolling of vehicle was developed. 2. The results of simulation showed that PID control was adequate to automatic guidance system along furrow. 3. Two commercial 12V battery serially connected were able to drive the vehicle on the soil ground for five hours in continuous operation and for four hours in intermittent operation without recharging the battery. 4. The speed range was 0-0.7m/s and the rolling of vehicle could be controlled within $pm5^{\circ}$ range. 5. From a series of tests, developed vehicle was found to be a useful tool for greenhouse works.

An Analysis of n VCO Voltage Regulator for Reducing the Effect of Power Supply Noise (전원 잡음 영향을 줄이기 위한 VCO 정전압기 분석)

  • A voltage regulator can be used to reduce the effect of the power-supply noise on the control voltage of the VCO. An accurate analysis of the voltage regulator circuit is needed for the optimal design of the voltage regulator. This paper clarifies an inaccuracy in a recent paper on the replica-compensated regulator far supply-regulated PLLs: neglect of MOSFET parasitic capacitances. As a consequence, an improved analytical model is derived for the replica-compensated voltage regulator. The derived model is verified through circuit simulation. The voltage regulator has been fabricated in a standard $0.18{\mu}m$ 1P6M CMOS technology. The chip area is $1mm^2$.

  • 기존의 소듐이나 메탈할라이드 램프는 수명이 짧아 잦은 유지보수가 필요하다. 8~12m정도의 도로조명은 유지보수 중에 사고가 발생할거나 교통의 흐름에 불편을 가져와 이에 대한 대책이 필요하다. LED조명장치는 반도체 특유의 장수명으로 유지보수의 문제에 솔루션을 가지고 있다. 또한 기존의 조명시스템은 단색으로 색온도의 제어가 어려워 기능성조명장치의 구현이 거의 이루어지고 있지 않지만 반도체조명 장치인 LED조명은 다양한 LED칩을 적절히 배치하고 활용함으로서 색온도를 가변시켜 우천시나 안개시에 운전자의 주의를 환기시킬 수 있어 도로안전을 확보할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 백색LED와 오렌지LED를 혼색하여 우천시나 안개시, 즉, 습도의 변동상황에서 색온도를 가변시켜 운전자나 보행자의 시인성을 확보하고 통행의 주의를 환기시켜 기능성조명으로서의 역할을 부여하는 LED가로등조명장치를 구현하여 이에 대한 성능을 실험하였다.
