Purpose: As the concerns for the environment are gradually prioritized, increasing interests of environment-friendly buildings are drawn. The Green Standard for Energy & Environmental Design (G-SEED) has been strengthened. However, there are no specific assessment criteria that reflect the special situation of healthcare facility. UK, US and Japan have green building certifications specially designed to evaluate sustainable healthcare facilities. This study has been started in order to provide basic information for developing assessment criteria for healthcare facilities in Korean Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design. Methods: In this study, we investigated three foreign green building certifications and compared their assessment system and criteria for healthcare buildings. Results: Each of the three foreign certification standards showed the difference in the system, but all contained the contents specific to healthcare facilities. Evaluation items were affected by regional cultural environment and also medical environment. Patient safety and integrative planning were the most important assessment contents. Implications: Based on this analysis, Korean Green Standard for Energy & Environmental Design for healthcare facilities will be developed.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual condition of real certification schools of environment-friendly architecture per ecological environment elements through extracting ecological environment elements which is possible to analyze in quantity certification standards of environment friendly architecture. As the method of this study, firstly, certification as an examination on certification system of environment-friendly architecture, summary of certification system of environment-friendly architecture and eco-school pilot model project, ecological environment elements which is possible for quantitative analysis of ecological environment certification standards were extracted. Secondly, actual condition of ecological environment elements per school grade by collecting actual data of certification schools environment-friendly architecture were analyzed. As a result, total 35 environment-friendly school facilities are clarified that the average composition ratio of ecological area ratio is 23.0% in case of this certification regardless of school grade and region.

This study aims to analyze the factors that cause differences in the evaluation results of the life cycle carbon emissions assessment of buildings in both Korea and China as part of the methodology research of building life cycle assessment for Chinese buildings to promote building life cycle assessment in China. Specifically, it examines the building LCA standards of Korea and the standard for building carbon emission calculation in China as mentioned in the green building certification systems of both countries. Based on the investigation of the two standards, the life cycle carbon emissions of the evaluation target building were evaluated using the building life cycle assessment methods of both countries, and the influencing factors that cause differences in the life cycle carbon emission assessment results of the two countries were analyzed.

Environmental conferences in international society have held on Rio de Janeiro from UNCED in 1992 upward (United Nations Conference on Environment and Development) for countermeasure of environmental matters. Developed countries like United States, Japan, Canada and British are to take effect building performance certification criteria what is certification system of environment for promotion in aspects of eco-friendly buildings. Purposes of this study are research in standards and status of certification systems which are LEED in USGBC since 1993 in United States, GBCC of KGBC in state-run organization since 2002 and 'Environmental-friendly Building Guidelines' of Seoul to be recently driven. And then, offer proposals of promotion aims for revitalization in GBCC.
