A Study on Functional Structure in Conversation of Family Therapy (가족치료 대화의 구조와 기능에 대한 대화분석적 연구)

  • This study investigated dialog sequence prototype that was the structure of communication, which could be shown in family counseling conversation between therapists and clients. The study was intended to review the process stages of family counseling through literature review, and divided functional phases into 'atmosphere formation phase', 'family evaluation phase', 'persuasion phase of cognitive change', 'confirmation phase of change experience', and 'termination phase'. The study selected two family therapists and 30 clients for research objects. They allowed data collections for the study after the explanation about the research objects. The transcribers were trained by the consent of transcription, which used particular symbol for verbal and nonverbal contents in conversation. The transcribed data were analyzed by dialog grammar, one of the linguistic dialog analysis method developed by Hundsnurscher(1994). This study described and explained dialog sequence prototype that displayed in conversation between family therapist and client through the total sessions in family therapy. The study found three types of dialog sequence prototype in 'atmosphere formation phase', eight types in 'family evaluation phase', nine types in 'persuasion phase of cognitive change', eight types in 'confirmation phase of change experience', and eight types of 'termination phase'. Even if the dialog sequence prototype mentioned above cannot be applied to the process of family therapy at its face value, these findings may contribute to beginners in counseling and graduate students majoring family therapy to do practice in counseling. The research has a limitation in which the study investigated dialog sequence prototype of conversation in two persons. Future research needs to include dialog sequence prototype of conversation among more than three persons. Specifically, when a family therapist do family counseling, he/she treats more than three family members as usual. Therefore, the researchers hope that future study investigates dialog sequence prototype between therapist and client, client and client, among therapist, client and other family members.

  • 기존 언어치료는 언어발달장애 아동과 언어치료사간의 대면 방식으로 이루어지며, 이때 각종 언어치료도구가 사용된다. 본 시스템은 언어발달장애 아동과 로봇 간의 언어치료를 위해서, 센서를 통한 아동 이동 접근 확인, 아동 얼굴 검출, 아동 얼굴 인식, 아동 얼굴 감정 인식, 아동 얼굴 추적, 감정 돌봄 대화 출력, 언어치료 콘텐츠 표시, 음성대화를 통한 언어치료 수행이 어떻게 적용되는지 개념을 설명하고자 한다.

Non Face-to-Face Treatment and Not-informed Medication to Persons with Mental Disorders (정신질환자에 대한 비대면진료 및 비고지투약 -치료적 대화의 복원을 위한 모색적 고찰-)

  • People with mental illness are generally either unaware of their illness or unwilling to voluntarily seek treatment, which makes treatment difficult and the pain mainly passed on to their families. Accordingly, non-face-to-face treatment, in which the patient is diagnosed by interviews with the family and unannounced medication, in which medication is secretly administered through the family, can be performed, and this has been considered a necessary evil. Even considering realistic aspects such as the special nature of mental health care and families' suffer, not-informed treatment without consent violates not only medical laws, but also human rights of mentally ill patients. Above all, if the patient finds out about this late, the trust between the patient, family, and doctor is completely broken, and a treatment is absolutely refused. Japan's Chiba decision, which presents exceptional conditions for allowance might be a solution. However, it would not be a right solution, considering that it could lead to long-term unannounced medication and completely cut off treatment through therapeutic dialogue. Ultimately, it need to approach this problem and seek alternatives through restoration of therapeutic dialogue.

Relationship Between Conversation Skills, Working Memory and Naming Ability in Aging Adults (노인의 대화기능과 작업기억력 및 이름대기 능력 간의 관련성 연구)

  • For knowing the effects of aging on conversational skills in daily communication, this paper studied for the conversational turn-taking skills, working memory and naming ability on healthy elderly adults over 65 ages. 85 elderly adults participated in this study, which divided into four groups by ages. Speech samples were collected in natural conversation. Memorization of numbers, mental calculation, repetition of words were administered for working memory test. K-BNT was used for the naming ability. One-way ANOVA analysis was used for the comparison of conversational turn-taking skills among four groups. We analyzed the correlation between conversational skills, working memory and naming ability. The results were as follows: first, there were a significant difference in conversational turn-taking skills by age, but not by gender. There was a significant difference in 'Turn-Taking Frequency' and 'Total Utterance Frequency' among four groups. The same results were shown in the scores of females within three groups(exclude groups over 85D)(p<.01). Second, there was a significant correlation between 'rates of maintenance' and 'naming ability'. In addition, it was found that the naming test predicted 'rates of maintenance' skills. The results of this study suggest that word-retrieval ability will be helpful to enhance functional communication skills in aging old adults.

A prototype of digital humans capable of emotionally using deep generative models (사전학습 기반 생성모델을 이용한 정서적 지지형 디지털 휴먼 프로토타입 구현)

  • 메타버스의 산업적/학술적 가치가 증대되면서, 실세계 인간과 메타버스 내 디지털 휴먼과의 상호작용 시스템 또한 큰 조명을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 인간과 디지털 휴먼이 상호작용할 때, 인간의 발화에 대해 감성적 지지가 가능한 디지털 휴먼 프로토타입을 소개한다. 대화의 의미에 따른 동작 생성이 가능한 아바타 구축 공개 프레임워크를 도입하고, 사전학습모델을 바탕으로 감성적 지지가 가능한 심층 대화 생성 모델 기반 대화 시스템을 여기에 통합하여 인간의 감성 상태에 따른 동작과 대화를 진행하는 감성 지지형 디지털 휴먼 프로토타입을 구현하였다. 이러한 프로토타입을 고도화 하면, 향후 메타버스 기반 정신 건강 케어 및 디지털 치료제로의 확장이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

A study on Developing and Testing the effects of an Educational Program on Communication Skills for Military Counselors (직업군인 상담자를 위한 대화기술 교육프로그램 개발 및 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an educational program for improving conversational skills in military counselors and prove its effects. For statistical analysis, t test to find out homogeneity between the experimental and control group and to find out the differences of two groups, and an evaluation before and after the program to verify the therapeutic effects of the program were each proved by SPSS 15.0 for Windows. The followings are the list of the results. First of all, the program was effective in improving military counseling communication skills. Secondly, it was proved to be effective in improving self-effectiveness in counselors. Thirdly, the program was effective in improving interpersonal communication skills. Fourthly, the program revealed its therapeutic effects. Therefore, it is concluded that the program would help greatly in military counseling and living.

  • Objective : Commonly experienced as an occupational therapist to reveal the meaning of conflict, development by providing information on the quality of official development plan for therapists were willing to contribute. Method : In this study using Parse's human becoming method to collect and analyze data. Participants to understand purpose of the study's researchers and that can be spoken honestly their experience through dialogue were selected eight people as a clinical occupational therapist. Conversation period January-February 2012 was, at the time of about 30-40 minutes, Every conversation is more than three times for each participant were conducted. Result : Experience of occupational therapists, occupational therapy as a conflict of identity confusion and lack of awareness, feeling that comes from a poor working environment and social life, mental conflict, payroll issues to worry about, but concerns about the treatment of the future with hope and effort in the process was an experience. However, external, internal conflicts despite the uneasy reality academic experience for self-development and growth, and the development towards a positive future was out over it. Conclusion : Away from the internal and external conflicts therapists, occupational therapy and establish the identity of satisfaction and quality of care for the treatment to improve their physical and social environment, continuous improvement is necessary.

Effect of a Novel App-based Listener Responsiveness Conversation Training Program on Enhancing Conversational Skills in Children with High-Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (App-기반 청자 반응 대화훈련 프로그램이 고기능 자폐스펙트럼 아동의 대화기술 향상에 미치는 효과)

  • This study examines the effects of a new app-based intervention program for conversational skills of children with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Participants in this study comprised 26 children diagnosed with autism, Asperger's syndrome, or pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS). Participants were randomly assigned into a treatment group or a control group according to their ages, IQ, SCQ, and ASSQ scores. The treatment group met with teachers once a week for a single non-face-to-face class for nine weeks, along with conversation training at home using an app. The control group did not participate in any specific programs for conversational skills. Conversation data of all participants were collected before and after the intervention to compare the two groups based on changes in the conversational turn-taking and topic manipulation skills. When analyzed with respect to a Group X Period analysis of variance (ANOVA), the data indicated maintenance on the rate of appropriate listener's verbal responses in the treatment group, whereas the rate of inappropriate listener's verbal response significantly declined in the control group. In addition, the rate of conversation initiation and maintenance and the rate of appropriate initiation improved in the treatment group, whereas the rate of inappropriate initiation declined in this group. Overall, the study demonstrates promising effects of the novel App-based digital intervention on verbal conversational skills in children with high function ASD.

EFFECTS OF GROUP THERAPY ON SPEECH FLUENCY IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUTTERING CHILDREN (학령기 말더듬 아동 치료에 있어 그룹지도의 효과)

  • This study reviewed the stuttering literature and reported the clinical experiment in stuttering intervention. There is still no single answer as to the cause of stuttering or to the most effective therapy for stutterers despite the vast amount of research. One certain thing is that we have come closer to a better understanding of the stuttering and to more effective therapy. There have been three main statements about the origins of stuttering ; biologic origins ; psychodynamic origins ; environmental-learning origins. There also have been various methods of the treatment of stuttering. Broadly, two major treatment approaches are attentive ; stuttering modification therapy and fluency shaping therapy. In this experiment, the researcher attempted to investigate complex elements that each child might have and to use an integrative approach rather than to keep the specific one. Individual subjects were evaluated by a multidisciplinary team. Initially, the subjects received individual therapy. They then were placed in group therapy. The purpose of the group therapy was to raise their fluencies to the higher communicative situation and to maintain improved fluency over time. All three subjects improved their fluencies in reading and in conversation and showed the better(SSI)scores in total stuttering behaviors. It was also discussed that it is necessary to have sensitive assessment tools to investigate each element of stuttering ; and to develop a therapy program reflecting current advanced stuttering theories.

Developing English Language Learning Tools Adaptable to Users' Personality (사용자 성격 적응형 영어학습 도구에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 사용자의 성격패턴을 사용자의 대화음성 정보만으로 자동 분류할 수 있는 방법과 이를 기반으로 사용자의 성격 맞춤형 학습전략을 적용하는 애플리케이션을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 음성대화 속의 발화된 말의 빠르기(speech rate)나 말소리의 크기, 기본주파수(fundamental frequency)의 값과 그들의 변화패턴, 그리고 묵음구간의 여러 가지 통계적 정보 같은 비언어적 단서를 활용하여 성격패턴을 최고 86.3% 까지 정확하게 인식해 낼 수 있었다. 또한 성격 별 영어단어 학습방법을 개발하여 사전 및 사후테스트를 기반으로 실험한 결과 약 24% 성적 향상을 보였다. 이 연구를 통해 확보되는 원천기술은 각종 에듀테인먼트 콘텐츠에는 물론 로봇과의 대화시스템, 치료나 재활을 위한 기능성 콘텐츠 등에 유용하게 사용될 것이다.
