Assessment of Low Velocity Impact Damage of Filament Wound Composite Vessels with Surface Protective Materials (필라멘트 와인딩 복합재 압력용기의 저속충격손상 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the impact damage behavior of filament wound composite vessels and the effect of surface protective materials on their impact resistance. Using an instrumented impact testing machine, a series of impact tests was performed on the base panels and the protected panels (panels with surface protective materials of rubber, kevlar/epoxy or glass/epoxy laminates) that were cut from the full scale vessel. And the impact damage parameters were used to identify the effect of protective materials on the damage resistance of composite vessels. Damage resistance of the composite vessels was considerably affected by the protective materials regardless of the shape of the indenters. Among the protective materials, glass/epoxy laminates was the most effective mean for improving the damage resistance of composite vessels.

A Study on the shape deformation of ball projectile(5.56mm) under the low velocity impact (저속충격시 Ball 탄(5.56mm)의 형상변화에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated the shape deformation of ball projectile(5.56mn) under the low energy impact by the use of the drop weight impact tester. ball projectile(5.56mm) consisted of the copper face with a lead core. The impact conditions were changed with the variations of the mass and the drop height of the impact tup. Shape deformation of ball projectile(5.56mm) after low velocity impact was measured using a video microscope and CCD camera. The test result showed that impact energy by changing of drop height of the impact tup affected shape deformation of ball projectile(5.56mm). So, it is important to study the relativity between shape deformation of ball projectile(5.56mm) and ballistic protection of plate(such as hybrid composite laminates) under the high velocity impact.

Improvement research for impact strength of nylon66/silicate composites (나일론66/실리케이트 복합체의 충격특성 개선 연구)

  • A study of the improvement in the impact strength is required to apply Nylon 66/silicate composites as an automobile material. Nylon 66/silicate composites were prepared using a twin screw extruder in case of a silicate treatment by ${\gamma}$-APS (S-silicate) and the addition of an octene ${\alpha}$ olefin grafted by maleic anhydride (PE-g-MAH). The chemical structure of the silane treated silicate was measured by Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The chemical reaction was confirmed by the decrease in the FT-IR intensity of the OH stretching vibration. The thermal properties, intercalation structure, and Izod impact strength were measured by DSC, TGA, XRD, and Izod impact tester. There was no significant effect on the degradation temperature of the Nylon66/silicate composite, but the crystallization temperature and crystallinity increased slightly in the case of the Nylon66/silicate composites. This suggests that the additives act as heterogeneous nuclei on the Nylon 66 matrix. The Izod impact test indicated that S-silicate enhanced the impact performance by up to 24%.

  • A total of 9 coating specimens were fabricated through 3 different processes to evaluate the availability and performance of a nickel/chrome coating for the protection of the inner wall of a thrust chamber operating on a condition of high temperature and pressure. Thickness and thermal conductivity of the specimens were measured and thermal shock test was conducted.

  • In this study, we introduce some main functions and specifications of a recently commercialized potable compact high voltage generator. USB killer has been designed to test surge protection circuitry of electronic equipments using USB ports. USB killer transforms 5V DC power supplied by USB port into a sufficiently high voltage over 200V DC through oscillator, transformer, voltage multiplier, and rectifier. The power charged in a high-capacity condenser can be applied back into the electronic equipments as an electric shock to destroy them or test protection circuits. USB killer is a readily available item, and one can test a variety of electronic equipments. We introduce some test results known over the internet and those obtained from our tests.

  • 전기차량용 차량제어기는 차량 전체의 구동 전략과 브레이크 시의 회생제동, 고전압 배터리의 SOC management 등을 제어하는 역할을 한다. 엑셀 페달 및 브레이크 페달의 신호를 입력 받아 운전자의 주행의지를 받아 들이고, 차량의 각종 제어기들과 CAN 통신을 통하여 필요한 정보들을 송수신한다. 이러한 입/출력 동작을 통하여 차량 전체의 구동전략을 세우고 각종 제어기들에게 주행에 필요한 정보를 전달한다. MCU(Main Control Unit)로는 32bit micro-controller 이 적용되었으며, 열충격과 고온동작 내구 등의 환경시험 및 전자기파 적합성 시험등을 통해 외부환경 변화에도 요구 성능을 만족함을 확인하였다. 이러한 성공적인 개발을 통해 2011년 초 시범양산되는 현대기아자동차의 BLUE ON 에 양산적용될 예정이라는 데에 의의가 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 현재 연구 개발되고 있는 HDSL/ADSL 시스템의 동작환경과 채널(선로감쇄(propagation loss), NEXT, 충격잡음 등)에 관하여 언급한 후, 전체 시스템의 구조 및 동작 원리를 기술하였다. 연구 개발된 HDSL/ADSL 전체시스템은 64-CAP 전송방식을 기반으로 Tomlinson precoder, Trellis코드, modulo Viterbi복호기, Convolutional-interleaved R-S 부호기/복호기, Hybrid-DFE, 반향 제거기, 타이밍 복원회로 등으로 구성되어 있다. HDSL/ADSL 전송시스템의 모든 기능들은 디지털로 구현되었으며, 칩 구현을 위하여 각 기능들의 VLSI 시스템 파라메터들을 추출하고 성능시험을 실시하였다.

  • Fast Fourier Transformation(FFT) is one of the most useful way to analyze response signal for the purpose of grasping the dynamic characteristics of system. Vibration test using impact hammer is typical and simple experimental method widely used for catching hold of dynamic peculiar characters and modal behaviors of system. In this thesis, impact testing module for NI-PXI equipment is developed. The analyzing and visualizing module are developed with LabVIEW tool. A user can see quickly and easily modal shape of system after analyzing acquired data. This developed module will be expected to build up more convenient and serviceable measurement system.

  • MIRIS (Multi-purpose InfraRed Imaging System), 다목적 적외선 영상시스템은 한국천문연구원에서 개발하고 있는 과학위성 3호의 주 탑재체이다. MIRIS 우주관측카메라는 한국에서 최초로 발사되는 천문우주관측용 적외선 우주망원경이다. 그 유효 구경은 80mm 이고, 탑재되는 검출기는 Teledyne사의 PICNIC $256{\times}256$ Array 이며, 이 검출기를 적용한 관측 화각(FoV)은 $3.67 deg{\times}3.67 deg$, Pixel Scale은 51.6 arcsec/pixel 이다. MIRIS는 현재 비행모델의 납품을 앞두고 우주환경 시험을 준비 및 진행하고 있으며, 시스템의 최적화 작업을 함께 수행하고 있다. 최근에 과학기술위성 3호의 발사체가 러시아 Dnepr로 결정되면서 시험 조건이 변경된 시험 항목에 대해서 EQM의 Sine진동, 충격 시험이 Qualification level로 진행되었다. 그리고 MIRIS 비행모델의 열진공 환경 시험 및 진동시험에 대한 준비 현황을 보고한다. MIRIS 비행 모델의 환경시험은 실제 위성이 겪는 acceptance level로 진행되며, 모든 시험을 통과하면 최종 납품이 이뤄질 예정이다. 또한 시스템의 최적화를 위해 수행했던 조립의 수정 항목들도 함께 보고한다.
