Experimental Study on the Dynamic Damage Mechanism of Rocks Under Different Impact Loadings (단계적 충격하중에 의한 암석의 동적손상메커니즘에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In order to investigate dynamic damage mechanism of brittle materials, Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) have been adapted to apply different impact levels to rocks in South Korea. High resolution X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) was used to estimate the damage in tested rock samples nondestructively. The cracks which are parallel to the loading axis are visible on the contact surface with the incident bar under lower level of impact. The surface cracks disappeared with increment of impact level due to confined effect between the incident bar and sample, while axial splitting are happened near the outer surface.

Approximation Method to Estimate Water Entry Impact Forces Acting on Light Weight Torpedo (경어뢰 입수 충격력의 근사화)

  • The water entry forces acting on an air-dropped torpedo are of the restrictions on launch speed and launch altitude, because it could cause the structural damage to components of torpedo. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the water entry forces with confidence according to launch conditions. In this study, an approximation method for water entry forces is presented, and the results using this approximation are compared with those of other numerical methods. The magnitude and duration of impact forces estimated by the present approximation agree with those of impact by the analysis of ideal or viscous flow. This method can give useful tools to select the launch in initial design stage.

  • In the present study, quasi-static tests and impact tests were performed for investigating the mechanical behaviour of EPP (Expanded polypropylene) and EPS (Expanded polystyrene). Four different density cylindrical type specimens were prepared for EPP and EPS and 0.001 $s^{-1}$ and 0.1 $s^{-1}$ of strain rate conditions for quasi-static tests and 100 J, 200 J and 300 J of incident energy conditions for the instrumented impact tests were considered.

  • We studied attenuation characteristics of shock waves induced by a donor charge and the sensitivity of an acceptor for optimal design of a TBI (Through-bulkhead initiator). The attenuation behavior of shock waves was studied by measuring free surface velocity using a VISAR (Velocity Interferometer System for Any Reflector), and the sensitivity of the acceptor explosives was analyzed via SSGT (Small Scale Gap Test). It was found that the acceptor sensitivity obtained by the SSGT may be inappropriate for the design of the small-scale explosive devices such as TBI due to the different shock duration time.

금융적(金融的) 충격(衝擊) 거시경제적(巨視經濟的) 효과(效果)에 대한 분석(分析): 금융실명제(金融實名制)의 효과(效果)를 중심으로

  • 본고(本稿)에서는 다양한 형태의 금융충격(金融衝擊)의 거시경제효과(巨視經濟效果)를 분석하기 위해, 모든 금융충격(金融衝擊)을 통화의 지불수단으로서의 이용률(利用率)을 급격하게 변화시킴으로써 화폐시장(貨幣市場)에 초과수요나 초과공급을 초래하는 현상으로 이해하고, 동 충격을 유통속도충격(流通速度衝擊)과 통화승수충격(通貨乘數衝擊)으로 분리하여 그 규모를 추정할 수 있도록 전자(前者)는 은행의 예금회전율(預金回轉率)과 현금통화보유성향(現金通貨保有性向)에 의해, 후자(後者)는 현금통화보유성향과 지급준비보유성향에 의해 설명하는 일반적인 모형을 개발했다. 동 모형을 아용하여 80년대 이후 우리나라의 금융충격사례(金融衝擊事例)에 대해 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 82년 거액어음사기사건과 7.3조치에 의한 실명제예고조치(實名制豫告措置)는 M2를 3% 이상 감소시키는 효과를 초래하였으나, 실제로는 통화당국의 대응으로 오히려 3.0% 수준의 M2가 초과공급된 반면, 1988년의 금융실명제(金融實名制) 실시예고와 민간(民間)에 의한 1993년 8월 12일의 금융실명제실시예견은 M2를 각각 3.9% 및 4.9% 감소시키는 효과를 초래하여 정부의 통화공급대응(通貨供給對應)에도 불구하고 결과적으로는 각각 0.8% 및 0.6% 수준의 M2 과소공급을 초래한 것으로 추정되었다. 93년 8월 12일의 금융실명제 전격실시는 개략적으로 7~8%의 M2 통화량감소효과를 초래한 것으로 추정되지만, 실제로는 통화당국(通貨當局)의 신축적 통화공급으로 0.3~0.6% 정도의 M2 초과공급이 이루어진 것으로 추정되었다. 한편 본고(本稿)에서는 이와 같이 추정된 사례별 금융충격의 거시경제효과(巨視經濟效果) 시뮬레이션 결과(結果)도 같이 보여주고 있다.

Dynamic Characterization of Backpulsing Hollow Fiber Module System (역충격형 중공사모듈의 동특성 연구)

  • Rapid backpulsing to reduce membrane fouling of hollow fiber ultrafiltration module (polyacrylonitrile with 50000 l'vlWCO, 1.4 rom OD and 0,9 mm ID) was studied with latex solutions. Values estimated by a theoretical model were compared with the ones obtained from the systems with or without backpulsing, Specific Cake resistance, time consUmt for cake growth, diffusion coefficient, and the rate constants of fnur fouling models; the complete, intermediate. standard blocking and cake filtration were calculated to obtain the theoretical values. High frequency backpulsing gave net increase of fluxes by 40~120%. Fluxes predicted by the model were in good agreement with experimental ones within 14% error bound, The optimum backpulsing strength was acquired at 20% in the ranges of 20~40% strength and the optimum frequcncv was acquired at 2 Hz in the ranges of 0.67~3 Hz.

A Constitutive Equation with Impulse-Momentum Theory for the Expanded Polypropylene (충격량-운동량 이론을 접목시킨 발포 폴리프로필렌의 구성방정식)

  • In this paper, impulse-momentum theory was coupled to a constitutive equation both for implementing quasi-static and impact characteristics of EPP (Expanded polypropylene). Also, parameters which have physical meanings were expressed as functions of relative density. Simultaneous nonlinear Newton-Raphson method was applied to find the proper values for parameters in the constitutive equation along with quasi-static test data. Results from the impulse-momentum theory coupled constitutive equation showed good agreement with experimental data and the potential to be applied to different material type polymeric foam.

Application of Impact Resonance Test to the Determination of Elastic Modulus and Damping Ratio of Concrete (콘크리트의 탄성계수 및 감쇠비 결정에 대한 충격공진시험 적용)

  • The moduli of concrete has been determined by various testing methods. The impact resonance (IR) method has been shown to be truly a simple nondestructive testing method which produces consistent results. It is possible to determine not only the modulus but also damping ratio from the IR test. However, the values of elastic modulus and damping ratio of concrete from the test is known to be affected by various test conditions including, specimen support condition, impact steel ball size and sampling rate. In this study, the optimum IR test conditions are suggested and validated experimentally. The test results showed that the recommended test conditions yielded a variation of resonant frequency within ${\pm}0.3%$ and damping ratio ${\pm}10.0%$. In addition, the modulus from the IR test was comparable to that from a static test when the effect of strain amplitude was properly taken into account.
