경사 평판에 충돌하는 초음속 과소팽창 제트에 관한 실험적 연구

  • 초음속 과소 팽창 제트가 경사진 평판에 충돌을 하게 되면 평판의 표면과 노즐출구에서 팽창된 자유제트(Free jet)와의 상호 간섭으로 인해 매우 복잡한 유동 구조가 형성된다. 예를 들면, 수직평판에서 발생되는 판 충격파(Plate shock)는 경사평판에서는 Upper plate shock, Lower plate shock, Intermediate plate shock과 같이 여러 형태로 발생되어 평판에서의 압력분포에 있어 수직일 경우와 다소 다른 경향을 보여준다. 본 연구의 주요 목적은 평판의 경사각을 변화시킬 때 평판 표면에서의 복잡한 유동 현상을 이해하는데 있다.

  • In order to design the ventilation in the road tunnel, it is necessary to know the ratio of average annual daily traffic by vehicle type. In general, the road tunnels are onedirectional tunnel, so the traffic of each vehicle type does not change along the tunnel. On the other hand, in the case of network road tunnels, since the connections in the tunnels are complex, the traffic of vehicle-type varies depending on the network composition of tunnels. In the studying the easy method for calculating the ratio of vehicle type for the network road tunnel are proposed with using incidence matrix.

Development of Expert System for Burr Formation in Face Milling (밀링가공시 버형성 예측을 위한 전문가 시스템 개발)

  • Burr makes troubles on manufacturing process due to deburring cost, quality of products and productivity. This paper described the results of experimental study on the influence of the cutting parameters on the formation of exit burrs in face milling. Using the results of experimental study, burr types are classified and data bases are developed to predict burr formation result. From the CAD file for work geometry and the NC data for tool path, the exit angles are calculated at every edges. This program predicts the burr geometry at exit edges using the prediction algorithm and data bases which are developed experimentally. Simulation results on deformation strain and temperature are also available in specific 2-dimensional cutting conditions. Also algorithm which can determine the exit angle is proposed.

Study of Supersonic Jet Impinging on a Jet Deflector (제트 편향기에 충돌하는 초음속 제트에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, Supersonic jets impinging on a wedge were investigated in order to acquire fundamental design data for jet deflectors. Surface pressure distributions and pressure contours were obtained using a cold flow tester producing Mach 2 supersonic jets. Schlieren system was used to visualize the flow structure on the wedge surface. Numerical computations were performed and compared with the experimental results. Both results were in good agreement. The results showed that underexpansion ratio did not affect on the surface pressure distribution when the wedge is located at the nozzle exit. With increasing underexpansion ratio, pressure recovery decreased as the wedge is located farther from the nozzle exit. In the pressure contour, it was possible to locate the region where the peak pressure on the wedge surface was occurred.

  • 본 논문에서는 XNA Game Studio를 이용한 Kinect 센서 기반의 동작 인식 미로 게임 Come Back Home을 설계하고 구현한다. 이 게임은 3단계로 구성되어 있으며 각 미로는 단계별로 맵의 넓이와 클리어 제한 시간이 다르다. 플레이어는 제한된 시간 내에 출구를 찾아야만 다음 단계로 넘어갈 수 있다. 하지만 제한시간 내에 출구를 찾지 못하면 게임이 종료된다. 또한, 게임 내에는 두 종류의 게임 요소를 배치한다. 첫 번째 게임 요소는 동작인식 트래킹을 이용한 과일 줍기 게임 요소로 떨어지는 과일을 정해진 숫자만큼 주워야한다. 하지만 떨어지는 해골을 두 번 이상 줍게 된다면 게임은 실패한다. 두 번째 게임 요소는 스피치 음성 인식을 이용한 퀴즈 게임으로 상식, 넌센스, 고대생물, 수도, 별자리 등의 다양한 장르의 문제가 무작위로 출제된다. 플레이어는 총 10개의 문제 중 7개 이상 정답을 찾아야 게임을 성공시킬 수 있다. 이러한 게임 요소의 성공과 실패 여부에 따라 플레이어는 미로 찾기에서 사용할 수 있는 유용한 아이템을 획득할 수 있다.

Measurement of Infrared Signature according to the Operating Condition and Location of a Small Scale Engine (축소형 제트 엔진의 구동 조건 및 측정 위치에 따른 적외선 신호 측정 연구)

  • In this study, the measurements of infrared (IR) signature were carried out using a small scale engine with the variation of the engine performance and target positions in the exhaust plume. The operating conditions of the engine were kept constant for each test, and the measured positions were sapced at refular intervals from the nozzle exit. The measured IR signature was calibrated by using a blackbody. The results of infrared signature measurements are shown in three bands for analysis of spectral characteristics. As the engine performance decreased and the distance from the nozzle exit increased, the IR signature decreased and the level of decrease varied according to the bands.

  • In machining operations, a burr is an undesirable material formed by plastic deformation in a workpiece. With the ongoing industrial developments, it has become an important issue to efficiently remove burrs. Several deburring methods have been developed to remove specific burrs that require special machining. However, to remove burrs formed while machining at the CNC machining center, deburring tools must be developed. In a previous study, a new deburring tool was developed by the authors. In this study, the influence of the rake angle and stiffness of the new deburring tool was analyzed to improve performance. The theoretical model was driven considering the rake angle and stiffness, and experiments were carried out to validate the model. Especially, conditions based on the designed rake angle and stiffness to effectively remove burrs, which is difficult, at the exit surface were suggested.

  • Supersonic, axisymmetric, jets issuing from several kinds of dual, coaxial, nozzles were experimentally investigated. Four different kinds of coaxial, dual nozzles were employed to characterize the major. features of the supersonic, coaxial, dual jets. Two convergent-divergent supersonic nozzles with different impinging angle on the jet axis of were designed to have the Mach number 2.0 and used to compare the coaxial jet flows with those discharging from two sonic nozzles. The primary pressure ratio was changed in the range from 4.0 to 10.0 and the assistant jet ratio from 1.0 to 4.0. The results obtained show that the assistant jets from the annular. nozzle affect the coaxial jet flows and an increase of both the primary jet pressure ratio and assistant jet pressure ratio lead to a longer supersonic length of the dual, coaxial jet.

Design of Velocity and Pressure Compounded Impulse Turbine (속도 및 압력 복합형 충동 터빈 설계)

  • Design of velocity-compounded turbine for 75ton class LRE turbopump application and pressure compounded turbine for 30ton class LRE turbopump has been performed. 1D calculation and CFD analysis were conducted in determining blade and flow passage shape of velocity compounded turbine iteratively. Finally, 23.1% improved specific power and 5% reduced weight turbine to the original design was developed. In case of pressure-compounded supersonic turbine design, rotational speed was increased by 50% and the effect of carryover ratio, 2nd nozzle installation angle, leakage flow of 2nd nozzle, and work sharing factor was studied. Final 1D design resulted 36% increased specific power and 51% reduced weight comparing to the original single-row impulse turbine. It is anticipated that nozzle flow path design will be very important for the accomplishment of expected performance of pressure-compounded turbine and nozzle shape optimization will be conducted through the CFD analysis.

  • This study is concerned with radial turbine design and performance improvement of a turbo generator system, which is used for maximizing performance of a 250kW MCFC fuel cell system. A preliminary design of a radial turbine has been performed under the thermodynamic and fluid-dynamic conditions determined by a cycle analysis of the MCFC BOP system. Basic demensions are determined by a meanline analysis and calculation of radial variation at the exit of the turbine. The turbine impeller is designed and modified by iterative processes of three dimensional flow analysis.
