A Study on Iron Electrode of Ni/Fe Battery(I) -High Utilization of Iron Electrode- (니켈/철 축전지의 철전극에 관한 연구(I) -철전극의 고이용률화-)

  • A study on the iron electrode which is a good material for alkaline battery because of its superior characteristics including high theoretical capacity density, low toxicity, low cost and inexhaustible supply was performed to develop high performance nickel-iron secondary battery. The characteristics of chrage-discharge reaction were examined by cyclic voltammetry technique SEM and XRD analysis. The capacity of the test electrodes was determined by the costant current charge-discharge method. It was found that the purity and particle size of iron material were the major determinant factors of electrode capacity. With the addition of $Na_2S$ into the electrolyte the capacity of electrode was increased about 20 % caused by the prevention of passivation and the increase of hydrogen overpotential. The stability and capacity of electrode were increased with the use of Ni-fibrex and foamed Ni collectors and also depended on the sintering temperature. The capacity of electrode was 350 mAh/g(0.2 C) which corresponded to 36% utility.

Comparison of Selective Removal of Nitrate Ion in Constant Voltage and Constant Current Operation in Capacitive Deionization (축전식 탈염에서 정전압과 정전류 운전에 따른 질산 이온의 선택적 제거율 비교)

  • The adsorption characteristics of ions were evaluated for the nitrate-selective carbon electrode (NSCE) in accordance with power supply methods. The NSCE was fabricated by coating the surface of a carbon electrode with anion-exchange resin powders with high selectivity for the nitrate ion. Capacitive deionization (CDI) experiments were performed on a mixed solution of nitrate and chloride ion in constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) modes. The number of total adsorbed ions in CV mode was 15% greater than that in CC mode. The mole fraction of adsorbed nitrate ion showed the maximum 58%, though the mole fraction was 26% in the mixed solution. This indicates that the fabricated NSCE is highly effective for the selective adsorption of nitrate ions. The mole fraction of adsorbed nitrate was nearly constant value of 55-58% during the adsorption period in CC mode. In the case of CV mode, however, the values increased from the initial 30% to 58% at the end of adsorption. We confirmed that the current supplied to cell is important factor to determine the selective removal of nitrate.

  • When the Information age led by media comes, The literature yielded its prominence to visual media, and the Korean literature also faced a crisis, prompted by decreased demand for it. In this reality, literature festivals which have increased rapidly since 1995 and currently number at least 110, when the local government system was launched, played an important role in promoting literature to the society. This thesis has selected Manhae Festival, one of the most vibrant and successful, as the case study to analyze its present status and accomplishments to derive ways for improvement which can be used to promote policies on literature. Manhae Festival which celebrates Manhae Han Yongun, a poet and an independence activist, also became one of the top literature festivals through Manhae Grand Awards and various cultural, art and academic events, despite being held in Inje County, Gangwon Province, a remote location. Based on this study, in the near future, Manhae Village, as a complex cultural venue, as a If we can make the place into complex cultural space and with additional policy support by gaining political supports like designation as Slowcity and special zone of culture and tourism, and pursuing glocalization by making Manhae into a star brand, Manhae Festival will cement its current position as a successful literary festival. It has very meaningful since most of literature festivals operate in small scale. Now, we need to develop literature festivals into local ones by attracting larger popularity. Meanwhile, a more comprehensive study, in the future, is needed with special emphasis on successful literary policies and their precedents in other countries.

  • 본 논문에서는 전동지게차용 납축전지의 충전을 위해 위상천이 풀브리지 컨버터를 이용한 충전기의 설계 및 제작에 관하여 기술한다. 배터리는 저항부하와 달리 큰 커패시턴스 성분을 가지고 있어 컨버터의 리플 전류를 모두 흡수하게 되며, 이로 인해 시스템 효율 및 축전지 수명에 좋지 않은 영향을 끼칠 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 2차측에 Current Doubler를 가진 위상천이 풀브리지 컨버터를 적용함으로써 변압기 전류 및 리플 전류의 크기를 감소시켰다. 또한, 배터리 임피던스를 고려한 제어기 설계 모델을 제시하고 제어기를 설계하여, 실제 배터리를 대상으로 한 정전류 및 정전압 제어를 통해 충전기 시스템의 성능 및 안정성을 검증하였다.

Development of Capacitive Deionization with Calcium Alginate Based Cation Exchange Membrane for Hardness Control (칼슘알지네이트 이온교환막을 활용한 경도 제거용 축전식 탈염 기술 개발)

  • In this study, calcium alginate based cation exchange membrane was prepared and used to develop membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI) system for effective hardness control. As a major result, the MCDI with Ca-alginate membrane showed 27% better deionization capacity than the MCDI with a commercial cation exchange membrane. This superior improvement in the deionization capacity was expected to be due to the high ratio of transport number/electrical resistance (Sc/Rratio) of Ca-alginate membrane. In addition, the MCDI with Ca-alginate membrane showed better deionization performance than the MCDI with Ca-alginate coating. This was because the space between the electrode and the Ca-alginate membrane was utilized for ion adsorption. The preliminary results indicated that the MCDI with Ca-alginate membrane can be a viable technique for the hardness control.
