A Study on Benefits Sought of Clothing and Clothing Style Preferences by Fashion Leadership (유행선도력에 따른 소비자의 추구혜택 및 의복스타일 선호도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to categorize consumers into subdivided groups by fashion leadership, and to compare and analyze demographic variables, benefits sought of clothing and clothing style preferences between the subdivided groups by fashion leadership. The subjects were 303 female in their age of 30's and 40's living in Seoul and the Kyunggi province. For the analysis of the, mean, Pearson's correlation, $\chi$2-test, Factor Analysis, ANOVA, Duncan-test were conducted and the cronbach's $\alpha$ has been calculated to measure the reliability. The results are as follows; 1. Consumers are categorized into four groups, which are fashion dual leaders, fashion leaders, fashion followers, and the fashion laggards. Among the 4 sub-groups by fashion leadership, there were significant differences in demographic variables such as age, education level and occupation. 2. Among the 4 sub-groups by fashion leadership, there were significant differences in benefits sought according to factors such as brand, individuality, fashionability and activity. 3. Among the 4 sub-groups by fashion leadership, there were significant differences in clothing style preferences according to individual and sexy, simple and sophisticated style, elegant and formal style, slim style, modest and plain style.

  • This research evaluates the availability of consumers moving to integrated multi channels by a target analysis on the integrated online channel and verifies the possibility of a synergy effect created by the expansion of an integrated online channel. The objectives are to define the scope of benefits desired in fast fashion and online shopping, compare the desired benefits of fast fashion consumers, online shopping consumers and fast fashion, and online shopping consumers, investigate the acceptance intention of the integrated online channel of consumers, and verity its relationship with the desired benefits. As a result, all consumers indicate the desire to pursue social recognition, pleasure, individuality, economic and convenience orientation, and fashion-innovativeness through shopping activities. In addition, there were differences in the mean of social recognition benefit individuality benefit, economical and convenience orientation benefit, and fashion-innovativeness benefit. Lastly, the acceptance intention of the integrated online channel was significant in all groups and the desired benefits that affect the acceptance intention of the integrated online channel were social recognition for fast fashion consumers along with pleasure and individuality for fast fashion and online shopping consumers.

A Study on Lifestyle and Sportswear Benefits Sought according to Consuming Desire of Sports (스포츠 소비 욕구에 따른 라이프스타일 특성과 스포츠 의류 추구혜택 특성)

  • The purpose of this study were 1) to subdivide sportswear consumers according to consuming desire of sports 2) to identify the differences in lifestyle and sportswear benefits sought. The data were collected via a questionnaire from 312 consumer who have been purchased sportswear and living in Seoul. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Sportswear consumers were divided into four segments: sports mania, attractive body pursuers, passive followers, mind purifiers. 2) Six realms of lifestyle such as clothing, food, home & interior, leisure life, consumption and sense of values were factor-analysed separately, and lifestyle factors which showed significant differences among segments are I) fashion ostentation in the realm of clothing ii) western style, health-oriented in the realm of food, iii) sports life enjoyment, sociable life, hoped-for foreign travel in the realm of leisure life, iv) brand oriented, price comparison, sale goods preference in the realm of consumption, and v) realist, interpersonal skills, strong personality, individualism in the realm of values 3) Five factors of sportswear benefits sought which showed significant differences among segments are comfortability/practicality, ideal body/good-looking, individual character, fashion! ostentation, and brand oriented.

A Study on the Benefits Sought and the Rental Intension According to Rental Clothing Experience (의류 대여 경험에 따른 추구혜택과 대여의도)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors of benefits sought and rental intension based on the rental experience of clothing. To collect the data, 520 sheets of questionnaires, mostly self-administered, were used. And they were analyzed by SPSS(Ver. 10.0): frequencies, percentage, mean, factor analysis, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression. The results are as follows: 1. The most frequently-rented clothing items include a wedding dress and a graduation gown. The respondents were divided into 3 groups based on the rental experience: the light-experienced, the medium-experienced, and the heavy-experienced; 2. Factors of benefits sought in rental clothing include wearer compatibility, reasonability, condition compatibility, space saving, and conformity, and the total variance is 64.61%; 3. The heavy-experienced group tends to pursue wearer compatibility, reasonability, space saving, and conformity. The elder housewives with higher education who spend much on clothing belong to that group. The light-experienced includes male university students who do not spend much on clothing, and the medium-experienced includes elder employees; 4. Reasonability and clothing rental experience significantly affect rental intention, and their influence is 14.20%.

  • This study aims to present a marketing strategy in the infant wear market with regard to consumer segments by analyzing benefits infant clothing purchases. For this study the consumer's evaluation criteria, usage of information source and characteristics of purchase behavior were analyzed by clustered consumers' groups. The results of the study are as follows: 1) Four factors were revealed as the result of the factor analysis on the benefits in infant clothing purchases. The factors were labeled fashionability, brand value, individuality, and practicality. 2) The result of the cluster analysis showed that it was most appropriate to categorize consumers into four groups based on the benefits of infant clothing purchases. 3) There were a significant difference in evaluation criteria, usage of information source, and characteristics of purchase behavior in terms of buying plan, retail store, purchase frequency, amount money spent, named brand purchase, and vicarious satisfaction among the groups.

The Relationships between Benefit Seeking and Brand Loyalty of Fashion Luxury Goods (패션제품의 명품 추구혜택과 상표충성도의 관계 연구)

  • This research is ultimately to understand the general behavior of luxury goods consumers and to diversify the consumer groups according to the relationships between their benefit seeking and brand loyalty. The subjects used for the research were 223 female consumers who purchased fashion luxury goods. The data were analyzed by factor analysis and multiple regression. The results showed that there were four factors in benefit seeking of luxury goods; self-improvement, aesthetics, uniqueness and quality. Each of the factors was analyzed in relation to brand loyalty and brand variety seeking motivations. Brand loyalty's factors were continuous brand loyalty, trademark brand loyalty and devoting brand loyalty. Brand variety seeking motivation factors were change/novelty seeking motivation, quality/recommendation, discounted price and unique types of product line. The consumers who were seeking self- improvement were showing trademark brand loyalty rather than continuous or devoting brand loyalty. Meanwhile, the quality benefit seeking customers showed continuous or devoting brand loyalty. The most important motivations in brand variety seeking was change/ novelty seeking. The implications and marketing strategies of the research were discussed.

A Study on Pursuing Benefits and Satisfaction at Fashion Outlet Store (패션 아울렛 점포에 대한 추구혜택과 만족도 연구)

  • This study was attempted to examine consumers' pursuing benefits and satisfaction at outlet store, to analyze the differences of pursuing benefits and satisfaction at outlet store among the consumer groups segmented by the pursuing benefits, and to provide useful information for establishment of marketing strategies. The subjects were 500 female consumers experienced in purchasing clothes at outlet non. For analysis of questionnaires, $\chi$$^2$-test, ANOVA, cluster analysis, factor analysis, and Duncan's multiple range test were performed. The results were as follows: 1. Pursuing benefits at outlet store were composed of 6 factors: store's atmosphere, variety of products and brands, service and reputation of store, product quality, location's convenience, and price. Consumers were segmented into three groups by above 6 factors: product pursuing group, store convenience pursuing group, and price pursuing group. 2. Satisfaction at outlet store was composed of 5 factors: product, atmosphere, service and reputation of store, location convenience, and price. Satisfaction at outlet store such as service and reputation of store, location's convenience, and price were significantly different among the segmented groups. Product pursuing group was most satisfied with service and reputation of store, store convenience pursuing group was most satisfied with location's convenience and price, and price pursuing group was most satisfied with price. 3. The demographic variables such as an age, marriage, occupation, academic background, and total income were significantly different among the segmented groups.

The Influence of Women's Self-Concept on Cosmetic Benefits Sought (여성의 자아개념이 화장품 추구혜택에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate the relationships between self-concept and cosmetic benefits sought, to disclose the differences in the benefits according to demographic variables and cosmetic purchase behavior, and to examine how cosmetic benefits were influenced by self-concept and demographic variables of women. Subjects were 453 women in age from 18 to 55 years in Seoul. Four dimensions of cosmetic benefits of women were derived by factor analysis :'brand orientation', 'fashion', 'economies', and 'functional efficiency', Cosmetic benefit was influenced most by family self-concept, and self-concept was influenced most by benefit of economics, next by functional efficiency, and fashion. Brand orientation, fashion, and economics showed significant differences according to marital status. The higher the income, the higher the score on brand orientation, fashion, and functional efficiency. There were significant differences in brand orientation, fashion, and economics according to cosmetic purchase expense, the number of purchase times, and stores, while functional efficiency showed no significant difference depending upon the number of cosmetic purchase times. Brand orientation was influenced by marital status, income, and physical self, fashion influenced by age(-), physical self, income, and family self(-). Economics was influenced by family self(-) and marital status(-). The present findings provided that self-concept such as physical self and family self is significant variables to understand the cosmetic benefits sought.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of sports shoes benefit pursuit on purchase reason, purchase evaluative criteria, and purchase information resource of high school girls. The data were collected between June 2016 from 287 high school girls in their's, living in Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan, and Changwon. The data have been analyzed by using SPSS program. The methods of factor analysis, reliability, and regression have been adopted for the data analysis. The results of this study were as followings: The factors of sports shoes benefit pursuits consisted of four dimensions of fashion-pursuit, brand-pursuit, convenience-pursuit, and economy-pursuit. The factors of purchase reasons consisted of three dimensions of syntony, recreation, and economic utility. The factors of purchase evaluative criteria consisted of three dimensions of management, aesthetic appreciation, and symbolism. The factors of purchase information resource consisted of two dimensions of media and human. Sports shoes benefit pursuits had an influence on purchase reasons, purchase evaluative criteria, and purchase information resources. In particular, the fashion-pursuit of Sports shoes benefit pursuits had a great influence on purchase reasons. The brand-pursuit of Sports shoes benefit pursuits had a great influence on purchase evaluative criteria and purchase information resources. It is highly expected that this study is used as the useful sources of sports Shoes industry.

  • The purose of this study was to investigate the effect of clothing image, benefit sought, perceived risk, demographic and consumer's characteristics on the Purchase Intention of Saenghwal-Hanbok. The questionnaire was administered to 227 women in Seoul Data were analysed by factor analysis, correlation and multipleregression. The resets of this study were as follows: 1. The clothing images of Saenghwal-Hanbok were composed of dignified, comfortable, conservative and innovative dimensions. The benefits sought of Saenghwal-Hanbok were identified to traditional aethetics, contemporary aethetics, comfortability The perceived risk of Saenghwal-Hanbok was the only risk on the negative viewpoint of others. 2. The images of Saenghwal-Hanbok with the exception of innovative image have influenced on the benefit sought and the perceived risk of Saenghwal-Hanbok. 3. The positive effects of benefits sought iud negative effect of perceived risk ell the purchase intention of Saenghwal-Hanbok were found. There were also the significant effects of demographic and consumer's characteristics on the clothing image, benefit sought, perceived risk.
