An improved RDO algorithm for the HEVC intra encoder (HEVC 인트라 인코더를 위한 RDO 알고리듬의 개선)

  • High Efficiency Video Coding 비디오 표준은 다양한 분할방식 및 35가지 예측모드를 허용하기 때문에 최적의 분할 및 예측모드를 결정하기 위한 연산량이 많다. 이를 줄이기 위하여 본 논문에서는 CU분할의 결정에 있어 가설검정을 이용하여 early splitting 및 early pruning을 위한 임계값을 설정하고, early splitting의 경우 연산의 결과값이 임계값보다 클 경우, early pruning의 경우 연산의 결과값보다 임계값보다 작을 경우 CU의 분할을 조기에 결정하는 논문[1]의 방법을 차용하여 CU의 분할을 조기에 결정하며, 추가로 비트율 및 왜곡을 연산하는 예측모드의 개수를 줄임으로써 인코더의 성능을 향상시켰다. 또한 예측모드를 결정할 때 RDOQ를 수행하지 않음으로써 예측모드를 빠르게 결정하며, TU의 분할에 있어서도 CBF의 값 및 임계값을 이용한 early pruning 방법을 수행하여 인코더의 성능을 향상시켰다. 실험결과 5.9%의 luma BDRate의 증가가 있었으나, 63.7%의 인코딩 시간이 절감되었다.

  • Plasma display panels normally utilize the binary coded light emission scheme for gray scale expression. Subsequently, this expression method makes dynamic false contours. We propose the "E3DSM(enhanced 3-dimension scattering method)" that improved existing 3-d scattering method and the "HAM(histogram analysis method)" that is decided the driving schemes and subfield selections with histograms of images. Simulation results show the improving image quality.

  • Recently, the dental information systems were rapidly developed in order to store and process the data of patients. But, these systems should serve a doctor a good quality information against disease for diagnostic and surgery purpose so as to success in this field. This function of the system it important to persuade patients to undergo proper surgical operation they needed. Hence, 3D teeth model capable of simulating the dental surgery and treatment is necessary Teeth manipulation of dentistry is performed on individual tooth in dental clinic. io, 3D teeth reconstruction system should have the techniques of segmentation and 3D reconstruction adequate for individual tooth. In this paper, we propose the techniques of adaptive optimal segmentation to segment the individual area of tooth, and reconstruction method of tooth based on contour-based method. Each tooth can be segmented from neighboring teeth and alveolar bone in CT images using adaptive optimal threshold computed differently on tooth. Reconstruction of individual tooth using results of segmentation can be manipulated according to user's input and make the simulation of dental surgery and treatment possible.

  • 광전달망에서 전송용량의 폭발적인 수요 증가에 대처하기 위한 최적의 솔루션으로 파장분할다중화(WDM: wavelength division multiplexing) 방식이 도입되고 있으며, 그 적용 영역 또한 장거리 시외망, 단거리 시내망부터 인터넷 트래픽 전달용 백본망을 위한 핵심기술로 정착될 것으로 예측하고 있다. WDM 광전송 방식은 기존의 시분할 다중(TDM: time division multiplexing) 방식이 갖는 동기식(SDH: synchronous digital hierarchy) 전송기술의 한계를 보완할 수 있으며, 신호의 다중화 및 역다중화 구성체계가 단순하고, 입력 광신호에 대한 신호속도나 형태등의 제한도 없기 때문에, 기존의 동기식 전송에 비해 전송용량을 쉽게 확장할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다.   • This paper presents a novel scheme that quickly searches for the optimal direction of multiple directional antennas, and locks on to it for high-speed millimeter wavelength transmissions, when communications to another antenna directional are disconnected. The proposed method utilizes a modified genetic algorithm, which selects a superior initial group through preprocessing in order to solve the local solution in genetic algorithm. TDD (Time Division Duplex) is utilized as the transfer method and data controller for the antenna. Once the initial communication is completed for the specific number of individuals, no longer antenna's data will be transmitted nil each station processes GA in order to produce the next generation. After reproduction, individuals of the next generation become the data, and communication between each station is made again. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system, simulation results of 1:1, 1:2, 1:5 directional antennas and experiment results of 1:1 directionalantennas confirmed the efficiency of the proposed method. The 16bit split is 8bit, but it has similar performance as 16bit gene.

  • In this paper, an optimal determination method of the subband-frame size and mode-switching level is proposed for adaptive OFDM-TDD systems in frequency-selective time-varying channels. The optimization problem considering frequency selectivity. user's mobility, and the signaling overhead caused by the mode change information is formulated in the maximum spectral efficiency sense satisfying the target BER. Assuming that subband-frame size is given, the mode-switching level is first optimized so that the spectral efficiency can be maximized satisfying the target BER. The subband-frame size among candidates is then determined, which maximizes the spectral efficiency. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms conventional schemes, in terms of the spectral efficiency and the BER.

  • 본 논문에서는 파장분할다중화 방식을 사용하는 광상호연결망에서 송신기의 지연시간과 수신노드에서의 광/전(光/電) 시간을 동시에 고려하여 각 노드의 패킷 수신 간격이 일정하면서도 전체 방송 주기를 최적화 할 수 있는 송수신 스케쥴링 알고리즘을 제안하고자 한다. 즉, Nro의 노드로 구성된 스타(star)형 구조에서 K개의 파장을 사용하여 일정한 간격으로 패킷을 수신할 경우에 최적의 방송주기를 제시하고 그에 따른 스케쥴링 알고리즘을 설명하고 있다.

A Comparative Study of Different Color Space for Paddy Disease Segmentation (벼 병충해분할을 위한 색채공간의 비교연구)

  • The recognition and classification of paddy rice disease are of major importance to the technical and economical aspect of agricultural industry over the world. Computer vision techniques are used to diagnose rice diseases and to efficiently manage crops. Segmentation of lesions is the most important technique to detect paddy rice disease early and accurately. A new Gaussian Mean (GM) method was proposed to segment paddy rice diseases in various color spaces. Different color spaces produced different results in segmenting paddy diseases. Thus, this empirical study was conducted with the motivation to determine which color space is best for segmentation of rice disease. It included five color spaces; NTSC, CIE, YCbCr, HSV and the normalized RGB(NRGB). The results showed that YCbCr was the best color space for optimal segmentation of the disease lesions with 98.0% of accuracy. Furthermore, the proposed method demonstrated that diseases lesions of paddy rice can be segmented automatically and robustly.

Radar Target Segmentation via Histogram Chord Search Method (히스토그램 현 탐색방식에 의한 레이다 표적 분할 알고리즘)

  • An adaptive segmentation algorithm is used to efficiently target decisions in local non-stationary images. Until now, several adaptive approaches have been proposed as a method of segmentation. However, they can't be directly used for radar target detection because a radar signal has different characteristics from general images. Generally, a histogram of radar signal shows that targets have a relatively small number of frequency functions compared to the background and distribution of background, which have several shapes as the environment changes. In this paper, we propose an adaptive segmentation algorithm using a histogram chord which is a right-down line from maximum pick of frequency function. The proposed method provides thresholds which are optimum for several radar environments because the used chord for threshold search is not significantly effected by interference conditions. Simulation results show that the proposed method is superior to the traditional algorithms, global threshold method and distribution median method, with respect to detection performance.

  • VOD, HDTV, 라이브 스트리밍 등의 서비스가 늘어나면서 FTTH(Fiber To The Home)의 고비용과 설비문제를 해결하기 위한 대안으로 PON(Passive Optical Network)이 부상하고 있다. 가입자망의 구조가 다양하게 진화하고 광 이더넷 기술이 발전하면서 가입자에게 최적의 대역폭을 할당하기 위해 서비스별 대역폭 할당방식이 요구된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 사용자의 대역폭 요구에 따라 OLT(Optical Line Termination)가 각 ONU(Optical Network Unit)에게 서로 다른 방식으로 대역폭을 파장별로 적절하게 할당하는 파장 다중 분할 Ethernet PON모델에서 스트리밍 서비스를 위한 모델을 제시하고 구현한다. 또한, 이더넷 지연에 대한 분석을 통해 모델의 효율성을 제시한다.
