국내 가압경수형 원자로에 대한 가압열충격 기준온도 평가 (Evaluation of Reference Temperature on Pressurized Thermal Shock for Domestic Pressurized Water Reactors)

  • The evaluation method for the failure frequency of reactor vessel under pressurized thermal shock(PTS) is developed using probabilistic fracture mechanics. The probabilistic reactor integrity evaluation code, named R-PIE code, is developed. The validity and uncertainty of the R-PIE code is investigated. The reactor failure frequencies under PTS for Kori-1 nuclear power plant and other type of domestic nuclear power plants are evaluated. The reference PTS temperature for domestic nuclear power plants is obtained for the rule making against PTS failure.

유동안정화 장치가 홴 테스터의 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Flow Settling Means on the Performance of Fan Tester)

  • In this study, the effect of flow settling means on the performance of fan tester were numerically investigated by using a computational fluid dynamics(CFD). The airflow rate was calculated from the pressure differential across a flow nozzle in the measuring plane and the flow settling means were generally installed in the chamber of the fan tester to provide proper airflow patterns ahead of the measuring plane. The predicted nozzle differential pressures with uniform inlet velocities were compared with the values of the ANSI/AMCA 210-99 to verify the performance of the commercial CFD code CFX 5.6. The influence of flow settling means on the measurement of airflow rate in a fan tester were discussed with various porosities and inlet jet velocities. The results obtained show that the proper band of porosities exist to meet the AMCA standard in a specified inlet jet velocity.

  • In this paper, effects of inlet shape on the performance of a submerged cargo pump were numerically studied using a commercial CFD code CFX. The inlet shape, especially the gap between pump and suction well, is an important parameter in a point of view of performances of submerged cargo pump due to its effects on the residual and also hydraulic performance of the pump, respectively. To know the optimized gap, the overall performance degradations were calculated with the gap. In addition to that, the flow field through the gap was investigated to explain the effect of velocity non-uniformity on the performance of the pump impeller.

원심펌프 측면흡입구의 유동특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Flow Characteristics of Side-suction Inlet Geometry for Centrifugal Pump)

  • This paper presents a numerical study on the design of side-suction inlet geometry which is used for multi stage centrifugal pumps or inline centrifugal pumps. In order to achieve an optimum inlet geometry and to explain the interactions between the different geometric configurations, the three dimensional computational fluid dynamics and the design of experiment methods have been applied. Geometric design variables describing the cross sectional area distribution through the inlet were selected. The objective functions are defined as the non-uniformity of the velocity distribution at the passage exit which is just in front of the impeller eyes. From the 2k factorial design results, the most important design variable was found and the performance of the side suction inlet was improved compared to the base line shape.

핵연료집합체에서의 대형이차와류 혼합날개의 난류생성 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Turbulence Generation Characteristics of Large Scale Vortex Flow Mixing Vane of Nuclear Fuel Rod Bundle)

  • The common method to improve heat transfer in Nuclear fuel rod bundle is install a mixing vane in space grid. The previous split mixing vane is guides cooling water to swirl flow in sub-channel of fuel assembly. But, this swirl flow decade rapidly after mixing vane and the effect of enhancing the heat transfer vanish behind this short region. The large scale secondary vortex flow was generated by rearranging the inclined angle direction of mixing vanes to the coordinated directions. This LSVF mixing vanes generate the most strong secondary flow vortices which maintain about 35 $D_H$ after the spacer grid and the streamwise vorticity in subchannel with LSVF mixing vane sustain two times more than that in subchannel with split mixing vane. The turbulent kinetic energy and the Reynolds stresses generated by the mixing vanes have nearly same scales but maintain twice more than previous type.

Ortho-para 수소변환이 수소액화성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of ortho-para hydrogen conversion on hydrogen liquefaction performance)

  • A direct hydrogen liquefaction equipment has been developed and tested, which consists of a GM refrigerator, a liquefaction vessel, a radiation shield, a cryostat, and an ortho-para converter with catalyst. The effect of ortho-para hydrogen conversion on the performance of hydrogen liquefaction has been investigated. The time needed for the hydrogen liquefaction process with hydrogen pressure charge of 4 atm was delayed to around 75 minutes, and the liquefied mass flow rate of the hydrogen was about 0.0150∼ 0.0205 g/s when the hydrogen was liquefied with the direct hydrogen liquefaction system considering ortho-para conversion. With ortho-para conversion, the liquefied mass flow rate decreased up to 20%. Considering ortho-para conversion, there were up to 30% increase in the work input per unit liquefied mass flow rate. When the ortho-para conversion was considered, FOM decreased to be about 0.031∼0.045.

김치 냉장고용 홴 및 덕트 시스템 성능 개선 (Performance Improvement of Fan and Duct System for Kimchi Refrigerator)

  • The kimchi refrigerator is the electronic home appliance which is used for the maturing and a custody of the kimchi. In this paper, performance improvement of fan and duct system for kimchi refrigerator has been studied by using a commercial CFD code. In order to achieve a improved fan performance, three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics and the Design of Experiments method have been applied. Additionally, to know the optimized duct inlet shape with the optimized fan, the overall performances were calculated with various duct inlet shapes. The final fan and duct system for kimchi refrigerator showed improved performance in efficiency and total head compared with the existing model.

  • In this paper, the performance characteristics of the impeller in a centrifugal pump were investigated using DOE(Design of Experiment) with commercial CFD software. Geometric parameters of vane plane development were defined with the meridional shape and frontal view of the impeller. The incidence angles and the exit blade angle were selected as main parameters using 2k factorial and the influences of selected design parameters were examined through the optimization process using RSM.

EDISON CFD를 이용한 2차원 선박단면 형상의 입수 충격에 대한 연구

  • 최근 대형 컨테이너선의 개발이 지속적으로 이루어짐에 따라 슬래밍에 의한 선수 및 선미의 구조안정성 문제가 대두되고 있지만 설계 단계에서 슬래밍에 대해 고려하기에는 현상의 복잡성으로 인해 어려움이 많았다. 이를 위해 KRISO에서 시행된 WILS JIP의 선수 단면 형상 및 선미 단면인 쐐기 형상으로 격자를 생성하여 EDISON CFD 다상유동 해석자를 통해 수치해석을 시도하였다. 기존 방식과 달리 계산 시간 절감을 위하여 격자 변형 기법을 적용하지 않고 모형 시험결과를 기반으로 한 유입류 조건을 설정하여 입수 충격 문제를 해석해보았다. 그 결과, 선미 형상의 경우 선행연구와 유사하게 실험 결과에 근접한 유체 충격력을 정량적으로 얻어낼 수 있었다. 선수 형상의 경우에서는 구상 선수로 인해 파생되는 센서 위치별 충격력의 변화를 확인할 수 있었으며, 실제 유동에 가까운 유동 형상과 슬래밍에 의한 충격력을 개략적으로 구할 수 있었다.

EDISON CFD를 이용한 저속비대선용 반원형 덕트 에너지 저감장치의 변수연구

  • 연료효율에 대한 선주들의 요구와 그린쉽이라는 사회적 흐름에 맞춰 현재 연료 절감 장치에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 KVLCC2M의 반류개선 및 연료효율 증가를 위한 반원형 덕트의 변수 연구를 진행하였으며, 계산의 신뢰도를 검증하기 위해 서울대학교 선박저항성능 연구실에서 실시한 모형 시험결과와 비교하였다. 반원형 덕트의 크기와 길이방향 위치를 설계변수로 설정하여, 총 12가지 경우에 대한 CFD 계산을 시행하였으며, 계산 결과를 유동 정류를 통한 저항 감소와 반류 개선을 통한 프로펠러의 성능 개선 이라는 두 가지 기준으로 최적 조건을 선정하였다. 또한, 후처리를 통해 계산 결과를 추가적으로 분석하여 에너지 절감의 이론적인 배경을 찾았으며, 이를 바탕으로 반원형 덕트를 개선하여 부채꼴형 덕트를 새로이 설계하였다. 이에 대한 추가적인 계산 결과 최대 4%의 연료절감 효과를 최종 확인하였다.
