The researches about gaze detection have been much developed with many applications. Most previous researches only rely on image processing algorithm, so they take much processing time and have many constraints. In our work, we implement it with a computer vision system setting a IR-LED based single camera. To detect the gaze position, we locate facial features, which is effectively performed with IR-LED based camera and SVM(Support Vector Machine). When a user gazes at a position of monitor, we can compute the 3D positions of those features based on 3D rotation and translation estimation and affine transform. Finally, the gaze position by the facial movements is computed from the normal vector of the plane determined by those computed 3D positions of features. In addition, we use a trained neural network to detect the gaze position by eye's movement. As experimental results, we can obtain the facial and eye gaze position on a monitor and the gaze position accuracy between the computed positions and the real ones is about 4.2 cm of RMS error.

The method of induction noise reduction can be classified by using passive control or active control method. However, the passive control method has a demerit to reduce the effect of noise reduction to low frequency (below) 500Hz) range and to be limited in a space of the engine room. Whereas, the active control method can overcome the demerit of passive control method. The algorithm of active control is mostly used in LMS (Least-Mean-Square) algorithm because it can obtain the complex transfer function easily in real-time. Especially, Filtered-X LMS (FXLMS) algorithm is applied to an ANC system. However, the convergence performance of LMS algorithm could not match if the FXLMS algorithm is applied to an active control of the induction noise under rapidly accelerated driving conditions. So, in order to solve the problem in this study, the Moving Bandpass Filter(MBPF) was proposed and implemented. The ANC using MBPF for the reduction of the induction noise shows that more noise reduction as 4dB than without MBPF.

Rework systems are the equipment used to install or remove semiconductor chips with BGA or SMD forms in printed circuit boards. The rework systems have hot air outlets. At the outlets, precise temperature control is needed to avoid heat shock. The aim of this paper was to suggest a new controller for temperature control at the hot air outlets. The suggested controller was a fuzzy PID controller. The fuzzy PID controllers were composed of TSK fuzzy rules and had outstanding ability for nonlinear systems control. This paper reports the design algorithm of fuzzy PID controllers, and the design process of the fuzzy PID controller for the temperature control of the outlets. Temperature control experiments were performed to verify the ability of the suggested controller. As a result, the RMS of the proposed method is 9.44 and the general method is 15.88. The experiments showed that the temperatures at the outlet using the suggested fuzzy PID controller followed the desired ones better than the commonly used PID controller.

This study identified a linear time-invariant mathematical model of each stand of a five-stand tandem cold mill. Two model identification methods are applied to construct a linear model of each stand of the tandem cold mill. For the model identification the input-output data that have interstand interference property in tandem cold rolling are obtained from a nonlinear simulator of the tandem cold mill. And a linear model of each stand is identified with N4SD(numerical algorithms for subspace state space system identification) method based on a state-space model and Least Square algorithm based on a transfer function. Furthermore a modeling error of the tandem cold mill is quantitatively analyzed from a maximum singular value plot of error function between an identified nominal model and uncertain model. In conclusion the comparison of the output signals between the existing Taylor linearized model the identified linear model and the nonlinear model of the tandem cold mill shows the accuracy and the applicability of the proposed identified model.

In this paper, we proposed non-linear gamma curve algorithm for gamma correction. The previous non-linear gamma curve algorithm is generated by the least square polynomial using the Gauss-Jordan inverse matrix. However, the previous algorithm has some weak points. When calculating coefficients using inverse matrix of higher degree, occurred truncation errors. Also, only if input sample points are existed regular interval on 10-bit scale, the least square polynomial is accurately works. To compensate weak-points, we calculated accurate coefficients of polynomial using eigenvalue and orthogonal value of mat11x from singular value decomposition (SVD) and QR decomposition of vandemond matrix. Also, we used input data part segmentation, then we performed polynomial curve fitting and merged curve fitting results. When compared the previous method and proposed method using the mean square error (MSE) and the standard deviation (STD), the proposed segmented polynomial curve fitting is highly accuracy that MSE under the least significant bit (LSB) error range is approximately $10^{-9}$ and STD is about $10^{-5}$.

Indoor localization based on visible-light communication using the received signal strength intensity (RSSI) has been widely studied because of its high accuracy compared with other wireless localization methods. However, because the RSSI can vary according to the inclination and azimuth of the receiver, a large error can occur, even at the same position. In this paper, we propose a visible-light communication-based 3-D indoor positioning algorithm using the Gauss-Newton technique in order to reduce the errors caused by the change in the inclination of the receiver. The proposed system reduces the amount of computations by selecting the initial position of the receiver through the linear least-squares method (LSM), which is applied to the RSSIs, and improves the position accuracy by applying the Gauss-Newton technique to the 3-D nonlinear model that contains the RSSIs acquired by the changes in the azimuth and inclination of the receiver. In order to verify the validity of the proposed algorithm in an indoor space with dimensions of $6{\times}6{\times}3m$ where 16 LED lights are installed, we compare and analyze the errors of the conventional linear LSM-based trilateration technique and the proposed algorithm according to the changes in the inclination and azimuth of the receiver. The experimental results show that the location accuracy of the proposed algorithm is improved by 82.5% compared to the conventional LSM-based trilateration technique.

In this paper, the proposed $gamma({\gamma})$ line system is developed for reducing the error between non-linear gamma curve produced by a formula and result produced by hardware implementation. The proposed algorithm and system is based on the specific gamma value 2.2, namely the formula is represented by {0,1}$^{2.2}$ and the bit width of input and out data is 10bit. In order to reduce the error, the system is using least squares polynomial of the numerical method which is calculating the best fitting polynomial through a set of points. The proposed gamma line is consisting of nine kinds of quadratic equations, each with their own overlap sections to get more precise. Based on the algorithm verified by $MATLAB^{TM}$ 7.0, the proposed system is implemented by using Verilog-HDL. The proposed system has 2 clock latency; 1 result per clock. The error range (LSB) is -4 and +3. Its standard deviation is 1.287956238. The total gate count of system is 2,083 gates and the maximum timing is 15.56[ns].
Purpose of this study was a development of an image processing algorithm to recognize paprika and acquire it's 3D coordinates from stereo images to precisely control an end-effector of a paprika auto harvester. First, H and S threshold was set using HSI histogram analyze for extracting ROI(region of interest) from raw paprika cultivation images. Next, fundamental matrix of a stereo camera system was calculated to process matching between extracted ROI of corresponding images. Epipolar lines were acquired using F matrix, and $11{\times}11$ mask was used to compare pixels on the line. Distance between extracted corresponding points were calibrated using 3D coordinates of a calibration board. Non linear regression analyze was used to prove relation between each pixel disparity of corresponding points and depth(Z). Finally, the program could calculate horizontal(X), vertical(Y) directional coordinates using stereo camera's geometry. Horizontal directional coordinate's average error was 5.3mm, vertical was 18.8mm, depth was 5.4mm. Most of the error was occurred at 400~450mm of depth and distorted regions of image.

The noise component of electrocardiogram is not distributed in a certain frequency band. It is expressed in various types of signals by rater's physical and environmental conditions. Particularly, since the baseline wander is occurred by the mixture of the original signal and 0 ~ 2 [Hz] range of the frequency components according to muscle constraction of part attaching to an electrode and respiration rythm, it makes the ECG signal analysis difficult. Several methods have been proposed to eliminate the wandering effectually. However, they have some problems. In some methods, the high processing time is required due to the computational complexity, while in other cases ECG signal morphology can be distorted. This paper suggests a simple and effective algorithm that eliminates baseline wander with low computational complexity and without distorting signal morphology. First, the algorithm detects and segments a baseline wandering interval using slope analysis and curve point detection, second, approximates the wandering in the interval as a sinusoid, and then subtracts the sinusoid from signal. Finally, ecg signals without baseline wander are obtained. In order to evaluate the performance of the algorithm, several ECG signals with baseline wandering in MIT/BIH ECG database 101, 111, 113, 234 record were chosen and applied to the algorithm. It is found that the algorithm removes baseline wanders effectively without significant morphological distortion.
