Estimation of Risk and Optimal Route to Transport Hazardous Materials -Application to Metropolitan Area- (위험물 수송을 위한 위험도 및 최적경로산정 -수도권 사례를 중심으로-)

  • 위험물차량사고는 일반차량의 교통사고시 발생하는 인명피해, 재산피해, 교통지체 외에 부가적으로 환경적 영향에 의한 엄청난 인명 및 재산손실을 유발시킬 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 위험물차량사고를 예방하고 피해를 최소로 줄이기 위해서는 위험물수송경로의 신중하고 체계적인 결정이 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구는 위험물차량의 수송경로를 결정할 때 고려해야 할 여러 가지의 기준 및 목표에 따라 위험물수송경로를 설정하는 모형을 제시함으로써 위험물수송에 수반되는 위험을 최소화하면서 위험물차량의 통행시간, 거리, 비용 등을 최적화하여 위험물수송의 안전 및 운영효율성을 향상시키고자 한다. 먼저, 위험물 수송경로의 기준지표로 사용될 위험도를 나타내기 위해 사고율과 피해가능규모를 구하도록 사 고건수, 링크 주변노출인구, 링크상의 노출인구, 밀도 등을 변수로 하는 모형식을 제안하고, 두 번째로 위험물 수송을 위한 최적경로를 산출하기 위해 위험도와 통행시간을 목적함수로 하는 다목적계획모형을 제안하였고 기존의 최적경로 알고리즘을 적용하여 최적경로를 산출하였다. 마지막으로 실제 수도권지역을 대상으로 본 연구에서 제안한 모형을 적용하고 현재 일반적으로 사용되는 최단경로와 비교.분석하였다. 모형적용결과, 링크주변인구만을 고려하는 기존 모형에 비해 링크상의 인구를 함께 고려함으로써 좀더 실제적으로 교통상황을 충분히 반영한 피해규모를 산정하였다. 또한, 본 연구에서 제안한 위험도와 통행시간에 0.5의 비중을 주는 다목적모형이 기존의 위험도모형에 비해 충분한 안전성을 확보하면서 최소 4%, 최대 12%의 통행시간 개선의 효과가 있음을 나타냈다.

Acoustic outputs from clinical ballistic extracorporeal shock wave therapeutic devices (임상에서 사용중인 탄도형 체외충격파 치료기의 음향 출력)

  • We scrutinized the acoustic outputs from the 70 shock wave generators of the 15 product models whose technical documents were available, among the 46 ballistic extracorporeal shock wave therapeutic devices of 11 domestic and 6 foreign manufacturers, approved by the Minster of Food & Drug Safety (Rep. Korea). We found that the acoustic Energy Flux Density (EFD), the most popular exposure parameter, was different by up to 563.64 times among shock wave generators at their minimum output settings and by up to 74.62 times at their maximum settings. In the same product model, the EFD was shown to vary depending on shock wave transmitters by up to 81.82 times at its minimum output setting and by up to 46.15 times at its maximum setting. The lowest EFD 0.013 mJ/mm2 at the maximum output settings was much lower (2.1 %) than the maximum value 0.62 mJ/mm2 at the minimum settings. The Large acoustic output differences (tens to hundreds of times)from the therapeutic devices approved for the same clinical indications imply that their therapeutic efficacy & safety may not be assured. The findings suggest the regulatory authority to revise her guideline to give clearer criteria for clinical approval and equality in performance, and recommend the authority to initiate a post-approval surveillance as well as a test in conformance between the data in technical documents and the real acoustic outputs clinically used.

  • A repeated impregnation and carbonization process was introduced to product high-density woodceramics using a resin impregnation board. The density profile were measured to further confirm morphologically and structurally occurred changes of one-time and two-time phenolic resin-treated and carbonized woodceramics. After the two-time carbonization of the products, the minimum, average and maximum densities increased more than those of the one-time carbonized woodceramics, and the increase of density profile. Therefore, it is considered that the preparation of uniformed woodceramics with high-density and low density dissipation can be produced by a repeated impregnation and carbonization).

A Probability Model based on Counting Method to Improve Broadcast Reliability over VANET (차량이동통신용 브로드캐스트의 신뢰성 향상을 위한 확률 모델)

  • The reliability of broadcasting over vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) is one of the most critical factors for driving safety applications. There exists limitations to improve the reliability of broadcast transmissions in saturated VANETs where previous proposals in literature tackle the problem by heuristically adapting the size of the contention window (CW). This paper considers improving the reliability by proposing a new probability model based on the counting methods of permutations and combinations, which counts all the possible cases of broadcast failures in a single-hop broadcast transmission for a given CW. From the model, we calculate the best CW size given the number of contention nodes, which significantly improves the reliability and satisfying the timely dissemination of emergency broadcasting messages. Through extensive VANET simulations with varying densities, we show that our model maintains near 100 percent success rate for single-hop broadcast as well as multi-hop broadcast (e.g. 40 hops) and achieves minimal broadcast delay.

  • Multi-level holographic data storage is a candidate for the next generation data storage system, since it can store more than one bit per pixel. It is possible to increase the number of codewords if the number of levels is increased, and the code with an appropriate selection of codewords can also increase the minimum distance. In this paper, we propose three multi-level modulation codes of the code rate 1 bit/pixel and compare the performance according to the minimum distance. The result shows that the code with small number of levels is better than that of large number of levels because it is hard to detect threshold value.

  • Traffic Density is the most important of the three primary macroscopic traffic stream parameters, because it is most directly related to traffic demand(Traffic Engineering, 2004). It is defined as the number of existing vehicles within a given distance at a certain time. However, due to weather, road conditions, and cost issues, collecting density directly on the field is difficult. This makes studies of density less actively than those of traffic volume or velocity. For these reasons, there is insufficient attempts on divers collecting methods or researches on the accuracy of measured values. In this paper, we used the 'Density Measuring System' based on the synthesise technology of several camera images as a method to measure density. The collected density value by the 'Density Mesuring System' is selected as the true value based on the density define, and this value was compared with the density calculated by the traditional measurement methods. As a result of the comparison, the density value using the fundamental equation method is the closest to the true value as RMSE shows 1.8 to 2.5. In addition, we investigated some issues that can be overlooked easily such as the collecting interval to be considered on collecting density directly by calculating the moment density and the average density. Despite the actual traffic situation of the experiment site is LOS B, it is difficult to judge the real traffic situation because the moment density values per second are observed max 16.0 (veh/km) to min 2.0 (veh/km). However, the average density measured for 15 minutes at 30-second intervals was 8.3-7.9 (veh/km) and it indicates precisely LOS B.

  • Population densities of intermediate nymphs and egg saw of Matsucoccus thunbergianae, a major insect pest of Pinus thunbergiona in southern coastal area of Korean peninsula, were est~mated. Tree samples of ca. 10cm D.B.H. were collected from old infestation area and newly invaded area. The numben of plimaly branches per tree were not significantly different by the locality, but those of secondaly and smaller branches were smaller in old infestation area The numbers of intermediate nymphs per tree in old infestation area and in newly invaded area were 10.8 and 13.1 times more than those on the trunk, respectively Approximately between 4, 200 and 208, 500 nymphs per tree were estimated. Men secondaw and smaller bmnch samples collected from the basal part of middle crown height, or from the central or the basal part of lower crown height, the number of samples required for the emr range of 20% were 21 and 11 far 10-20cm and 20-3 crn long branches, respectively. Approx~mately 63.6% of egg sacs of the whole tree were on the trunk. The node/intemode bearing the largest branch had the highest egg sac density; including that, four adjacent nodes/intemodes had ca. 37% of egg saw on the trunk.

Occurrence of Tiller and Its Effects on Grain Yield of Barley under Different Plant Densities. (대맥의 파종밀도가 분얼발생 및 각얼자의 특성과 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the occurrence of tiller and its proportion to grain yield under 5 different plant densities. Plant density 5 x 5cm was more favorable for increasing the number of spikes per unit area, where leads to improve grain yield. Effective tillers showed only main stem, M$_1$-axil and M$_2$-axil, indication more effective tillers in M$_1$ rather than main stem. Every tillers held at least 6 leaves to bear spikes, indicating that main stem has 12 -13 leaves. Leaves attached on main stem M$\sub$0/ and M$_1$ were very important as main source of photosynthesis, especially under more compart plant densities while leaves of M$_1$ occupied 66.8% in a plant. The proportion of grain yield of each tiller to total grain yield per plant was high in main stem under conpact plant density, in M$_1$ stems under less compact plant density, and in M$_2$ -stems under wide plant density, indicating same result on multiple regression analysis.

  • This study is to define new road capacity concept, and to develop and propose an estimation method, through the analysis of individual vehicular behaviors in continuum flow. Developments in detection technology enable various and precise traffic data collection. The U.S. HCM (Highway Capacity Manual) method does not require such various and precise traffic data, and outputs only limited results. Alternative capacity concepts, which can be classified into a stochastic model and behavioral or deterministic model, are attempts for modeling some prominent traffic flow features, namely so-called a capacity drop and a traffic hysteresis, using such various and precise traffic data. Yet, no capacity concept up-to-date can describe both features. The analysis of individual vehicular behaviors, including speed-density plot per time lap, traffic flow-speed-density diagram per each sampling interval, time headway distribution, and free flow speed distribution, is performed for overcoming the limits of the previous capacity concepts. A stochastic methods are applied to determine time headway for estimating freeway capacity for traffic control.

  • This paper considers a probability density estimation problem of climate values. In particular, we focus on estimating probability densities of summer extreme temperature over South Korea. It is known that the probability density of climate values at one location is similar to those at near by locations and one doesn't follow well known parametric distributions. To accommodate these properties, we use a mixture of conditional autoregressive species sampling model, which is a nonparametric Bayesian model with a spatial dependency. We apply the model to a dataset consisting of summer maximum temperature and minimum temperature over South Korea. The dataset is obtained from University of East Anglia.
