For implant treatment there must be sufficient bone to house the implant body. At least 5mm wide residual bone is needed and usually a 6mm width is preferred by clinicians. However, surgeons sometimes find patients with a narrow ridge, which makes it difficult to place an implant. Therefore, many clinicians perform bone graft or a ridge splitting technique to overcome these poor conditions. The time and cost can be reduced using the ridge splitting technique with immediate implant placement. Recently, many studies reported reliable consequences of ridge splitting technique. This paper reports a successful of implant placement with a ridge splitting technique in a very thin alveolar ridge.

A 61-years old man with diabetes mellitus(DM) was admitted to our hospital, complaining of progressive right periorbital swelling, headache and toothache on the right lower second molar. On the first visit, moderate swelling was noticed from the right periorbital region with exophthalmos and subconjunctival effusion. Intraorally, right lower second molar had a severe periodontal disease and fistular formation on its distal area. From 3 days after hospitalization, the visual acuity of his right eye was gradually worsen and we performed CT scan. CT scan demonstrated an inflammatory change at the right orbit with subperiosteal abscess at the inferior orbital wall, which was extended from the right infratemporal, parapharyngeal and internal pterygoid space. Patient was treated by mean of intraoral(right upper vestibular and retromolar) and extraoral(infraorbital) incision and drainage, massive anti-therapy and DM control. The patient improved gradually and finally was discharged from the hospital, but his visual loss of right side was not recovered.

21세기 지식정보사회로 접어들어 GIS가 부각됨에 따라 GIS의 활성화를 위한 기본지리정보에 대한 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 기본지리정보를 관리 감독하는 국토지리정보원에서는 2000년부터 기본지리정보구축에 관한 연구 등을 수행하여, 기본지리정보의 범위 선정과 데이터모델 표준화가 이루어 졌으며, 기본지리정보 유통과 구축에 필요한 생산사양이 이루어짐에 따라 기본지리정보의 품질 및 활용성에 대한 검토가 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 시설물분야 기본지리정보 생산사양에 따른 기본지리정보를 3단계에 걸쳐 구축하였으며 기 구축된 교통, 수자원, 행정경계 기본지리정보와 통합하여 활용성 평가를 수행하였다.

본 연구는 서번트 리더십과 조직몰입 간의 관계에서 조직에 대한 신뢰의 매개효과를 실증적으로 검증하는데 주목적을 두고 있다. 서번트 리더십의 측정은 선행연구와 동일하게 이타적 소명, 감정적 치유, 지혜, 설득, 조직의 청지기 정신 등 총 5개의 하위요인으로 분류되었다. 이를 통한 실증분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서번트 리더십은 매개변수인 조직에 대한 신뢰에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 서번트 리더십은 정서적 몰입과 규범적 몰입에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 거래적 몰입에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 상사의 서번트 리더십과 정서적 몰입, 규범적 몰입 간에는 조직에 대한 신뢰의 부분매개효과가 있음이 검증되었으나, 거래적 몰입에는 매개효과가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구의 성과는 서번트 리더십과 정서적 몰입, 규범적 몰입 간에 조직에 대한 신뢰의 매개효과가 검증된 점이며, 조직에 대한 신뢰가 높을수록 서번트 리더십이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향의 정도가 높아 간다는 점이다.

One of the current treatment methods for chronic osteomyelitis is removal of the infected and necrotic tissue to reduce the bacterial concentration as much as possible. This is performed concomitantly with antibiotic therapy. Chronic osteomyelitis(C.O.) implies chronic ischemia of the diseased bone. Thus, the treatment for C.O. requires high systemic level of antibiotics. In some cases, however, inherent undesirable adverse effects(for example, nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity, and others) may render this course of treatment difficult. Knowing that residual monomers are released from hardened bone cement, installation of antibiotic-impregnated PMMA(polymethyl-methacrylate) beads in situ have been one of treatment methods of C.O. When introduced into the wound, they established an exceedingly high level of local antibiotics for prolonged period without high systemic level of antibiotics. We experienced favorable results with vancomycin-impregnated PMMA beads for the treatment of C.O. of the mandible. So, we report it with literature reviews.

It is a gel type high functional toothpaste containing vitamin C, E, propolis extract and the rest of herb with a nanoemulsion state. Vitamin C, E is known as the material with an eminent anti-oxidation effect. Propolis is known as the material with an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect. We have been succeeding in making nanoemulsion of vitamin C, E and propolis through the high pressure homogenizer using stable oil and lecithin and the gel type high functional tooth paste were made from nanoemulsion of vitamin C, E and propolis. We observed the process of wound protecting effect and cure effect for a wound of soft tissue, gingival tissue and mucous membrane showing ulcer and inflammation in oral cavity after applying a gel type high functional toothpaste to patient. As a result, the wound were healed very fast and any side effects were not shown. We confirmed that a gel type high functional toothpaste with nanoemulsion of vitamin C, E and propolis extract has good effect not only for wound healing but also for treatment of ulcer-like lesion in oral cavity. So we report our cases with review of literatures.

Objectives : This case report describes the management of five patients suffering from nonstructural scoliosis with lumbar herniated intervertebral disc all treated with complex Korean medicine treatment. Methods : Five patients were hospitalized and treated with herbal medicine, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, cupping, and Chuna manual therapy. Patients were assessed for Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), EuroQol-FiveDimensions (EQ-5D), and Cobb's angle. Results : In all patients, NRS, ODI, and Cobb's angle decreased, while the EQ-5D score increased. Conclusions : As seen in these five cases, complex Korean medicine treatment with Chuna manual therapy has effects on the management of nonstructural scoliosis.

Objectives : The purpose of this report was to introduce 3 cases of patients diagnosed with both medial collateral ligament tear and meniscal tear that showed clinical improvement after Korean medicine treatment. Methods : These patients received Korean herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture treatment, and acupuncture treatment. We assessed these cases by using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities'Arthritis Index (WOMAC), and the European Quality of Life-5 Dimension Index (EQ-5D). Results : After Korean medicine treatment, most of the NRS, WOMAC, and EQ-5D scores showed improvement on every discharge date of these 3 cases. The NRS and WOMAC scores of all cases showed a decrease. The EQ-5D of all cases showed an increase. Conclusions : Through this research, we concluded that Korean medicine treatment can be helpful in relieving pain and improving the quality of life and function of knee joint movement in patients with medial collateral ligament tear and meniscal tears.

본 연구는 시설물분야 기본지리정보의 데이터모델 표준화에 대한 연구로 시설물 데이터베이스는 물론, 시설물 관련 응용분야에서도 활용이 가능한 주제중심의 시설물분야 기본지리정보 데이터모델를 표준화하는데 초점을 맞추고 있다. 시설물분야 기본지리정보의 범위를 정하기 위해 먼저 기본지리정보관련 선행연구인 기본지리정보 구축 연구 및 시범사업에서 정한 시설물분야 기본지리정보인 건물, 문화재를 검토하고 국내 외 표준 또는 데이터 모델 사례를 분석하여 대상항목을 도출하였다. 또한 전문가 면담과 관련연구를 바탕으로 요구사항을 도출하여 시설물분야 기본지리정보 범위선정 기준을 정하고 이 기준에 따라 시설물분야 기본지리정보 데이터모델의 대상이 되는 최종항목을 선정하였으며, 본 연구의 결과, 시설물분야 기본지리정보의 범위 및 데이터모델을 개발 할 수 있었다.

Objectives This study aimed to investigate the effect of SJS non-resistance technique-facial palsy (SJSNRT-F) using Korean medicine treatment on facial nerve palsy through three case studies. Methods SJSNRT-F, with other Korean medicine treatments, was performed on three patients who underwent treatment at OO Korean Medicine Hospital from March 2021 to August 2021. Additionally, the House-Brackmann grading system (H-B grade) and Yanagihara's unweighted grading system (Yanagihara's score) were evaluated in these patients. Results There was a significant increase in the Yanagihara scores. Except for one patient who was discharged early, two patients showed improvement in the H-B grade. Conclusions This study suggests that Korean medicine treatment including SJSNRT-F may affect the treatment of facial nerve palsy. However, better clinical studies are needed to confirm the same.
