The data were collected from 162 students in Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju. Frequencies, Cronbach's alpha, t tests, analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range tests and chi-square tests were conducted using SPSS V.14.0 for WINDOWS. The results of this study were as follows. The degree of concern about endocrine disruptors was not high. The respondents obtained most of their information regarding endocrine disruptors from TV/radio. Respondents had difficulty in acquiring and understanding the information. Both the degree of knowledge and the degree of behavior to decrease exposure were not high. The respondents showed a high degree of educational need for endocrine disruptors, the most important was methods to prevent damage from endocrine disruptors followed by risk of endocrine disruptors.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an educational app that informs parents of elementary students with correct information on pesticide residue based on their awareness and information needs on pesticide residue. A survey was conducted from 918 parents living in 8 different districts of Korea. The results of the survey indicated that a majority of parents felt uncomfortable with pesticide residue and wanted to have the proper information regarding it. Based on the above results, an app named 'Perfect Conquest of Pesticide Residue' consisting of 5 main menus of 'Pesticide residue, Is it safe?', 'Safe management of pesticide residue', 'Perfect removal of pesticide residue on fruits and vegetables through washing', 'Shopping without anxiety', 'Playground' and their own sub-menus was developed. When the app was applied to 30 parents using smart phones, a majority of them were satisfied with the contents of detailed information and fun activities. Therefore, this app could be utilized as an effective educational tool for the parents of elementary students by allowing them to have proper awareness on pesticide residue. Furthermore, more apps could be developed on other food risk factors to promote safe dietary life.

Methods : This study is composed of 1078 children who attend A primary school in ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ city. They are divided into 6 groups by grade and for the purpose of effective comparison, The five weak symptoms are studied to determine the association with growth stature among children and we standardize the weak children's height into percent according to age. Results: When each weak children controled grade, sex, body-weight, existence or nonexistence of personal history, physical exercise so on, relatively group of weakness for kidney is statistically less then opposite group and the rest of the people statistically have no significant difference. Conclusions: From the above result, it is suggested that the statistical relationship between the weakness for kidney and growth(p<0.001). It looks forward to have contributed to collective medical examination and children's health care by oriental medical treatment.

Labor costs of island type and rural type were significantly higher than those of urban type. The schools with less than 1,000 feeding numbers spent more labor costs than those with over 1,001-feeding numbers did. 2. In island type and rural type, total meal costs increased according as the scale of the schools decreased. 3. Results of the survey on dietitians' centralization noeds showed that the aspects of common-purchasing and common solid waste management marked the highest ratings, whereas the aspects of commissary foodserice system got the lowest rating.

Data were collected using a questionnaire for their parental attachment, self-control ability, and peer relationships and analyzed using the t-test, Pearson's correlation analysis, the hierarchical regression analysis, and the Sobel test. The results indicate significant differences in parental attachment, self-control ability, and peer relationships according to gender. Parental attachment was significantly correlated with emotional control ability and behavioral control ability, and there were significant correlations between parental attachment and peer relationships and between self-control ability and peer relationships. Parental attachment had a significant direct effect on peer relationships, and self-control ability mediated the relationship between parental attachment and peer relationships.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the perception about the construct in the Theory of Planned Behavior using In-depth interview for 24 housewives with elementary school children. Most housewives did not have an intention to buy organic vegetables more in the future than in the present. They showed positive attitudes toward organic vegetables in terms of non-use of pesticides and fertilizers, taste, nutrient content, freshness, mental health, and protection of the environment. They showed negative attitudes toward organic vegetables in aspect of price, credibility of organic vegetables, differences in nutrients, appearance, size, perishability, and accessibility. Children, especially those with diseases, were the most influential persons to their mothers for buying organic vegetables. Housewives' negative attitudes toward organic vegetables were barriers for buying more organic vegetables and they were not willing to overcome these barriers actively. Therefore, government policy and nutrition education to change attitudes is needed to increase consumption of organic vegetables.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze elementary students' perception on science classes using abductive strategies. The participants were composed of 21 students(10 boys, 11 girls) from K Elementary School in Busan Metropolitan City. They were asked for questionnaires developed by researchers after 20 times of reframed science lessons using abductive strategies. The results were as follows. First, the science classes using abductive strategies were effective to improve students' interest(ave.=4.19) on science. Second, the analysis results on questionnaires asking utility of the classes showed the students' positive reactions to science lessons using abductive strategies. It was thought that the classes had a positive effect on all components of utility, i.e., overall science(4.48), generating hypothesis(4.19), conceptual understanding(4.19), and meta-cognition(3.76). Third, students perceived positively improvement on the science classes. The components of improvement, i.e., creativity(4.19), concentration(4.29), transfer(3.76), comprehension(4.29) were perceived positively by students. Fourth, students' satisfaction on the sciences classes showed ave.=3.71. Last, students expressed satisfaction on the science classes using abductive strategies and experienced a change of thinking about attitude toward science.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a Puzzle-Based Computer Science Instruction Model and Learning Program and to confirm the effects. To do so, we selected 2 classes with a similar level of pre-computational thinking in elementary schools in the Jeju Province. After that, from 2 classes, we designated the 5th grade students in 'D' elementary school as group A and designated students of the same grade in 'J' elementary school as group B. In a total of 28 sessions during an 18 week period, a Puzzle-Based Computer Science Learning Program was used with 31 students in group A, and the traditional computer science course was used with 25 students in group B. The results showed that there were significant improvements in computational thinking, which is computational cognition and its creativity, of the students in group A compared to students in group B. Also, this study proved that the Puzzle-Based program correlated with positive changes group A students' Science-Related Affective Domain. In this paper, on the basis of proven effectiveness, we introduce the Puzzle-Based Computer Science Instruction Model and Learning Program as an alternative to traditional, computer science education.
