The Structural Performance of PSC Frame System with GerberCs beam (게르버 보 형식의 PSC 골조시스템의 구조성능)

  • 이 연구는 게르버 보 형식의 포스트텐션 PC 골조 구조 시스템의 실용화를 위해 골조 전체의 구조 성능 시험을 수행하며, 여기서 보-기둥 접합부 및 내민 보-단순 보 접합부의 구조 성능과 골조의 안전성을 확인한다. 시험은 400 mm$\times$800 mm 단면의 경간 3 m 보와 500 mm$\times$600 mm 단면을 갖는 높이 3 m 기둥의 실물 크기 시험체를 제작하여, 기둥에 80 톤의 축 하중을 준 상태에서 단순 보 중앙에 하중을 가력하여 기둥-보 접합부와 단순 보-내민 보 단면 축소 연결부의 구조성능을 파악한다. 시험 결과, 보 - 기둥 접합부는 예상 설계 하중 40톤 이상에서도 강 접합에 가깝게 거동하였고, 단순 보- 내민 보의 단면 축소 연결부는 경사철근의 사용으로 초기 균열 및 균열 확산에 대한 억제 효과가 있었으며, 예상 설계 전단력 40톤에서 안전하다는 것이 확인되었다.

Analysis of segment lining cracking load considering axial force by varying boundary condition (경계조건 변화에 의해 발생한 축력을 고려한 세그먼트 라이닝의 균열하중 분석)

  • In the design of tunnel segment structure, axial and moment forces are considered as significant forces. Since axial force is much greater than moment force, the whole section of segment remains in compression. Therefore crack width can be reduced. But the axial force is not considered in criteria for serviceability check. This fact leads service condition more severe compared to ultimate condition and makes the required steel reinforcement increase to meet the serviceability criteria. In this study, the effect of axial force on serviceability of tunnel segment is evaluated, experimentally and analytically. Mock-up tests on segments with actual size were performed and investigated in terms of initial crack resistance. The evaluation proves that more comprehensive design could be achieved when the axial force is considered in the procedure for the serviceability check in design of tunnel segment.

Fracture Characteristics of Concrete at Early Ages (초기재령 콘크리트의 파괴 특성)

  • The objective of this study is to examine the fracture characteristics of concrete at early ages such as critical stress intensity factor, critical crack-tip opening displacement, fracture energy, and bilinear softening curve based on the concepts of the effective-elastic crack model and the cohesive crack model. A wedge splitting test for Mode I was performed on cubic wedge specimens with a notch at the edge. By taking various strengths and ages, load-crack mouth opening displacement curves were obtained, and the results were analyzed by linear elastic fracture mechanics and the finite element method. The results from the test and analysis showed that critical stress intensity factor and fracture energy increased, and critical crack-tip opening displacement decreased with concrete ages from 1 day to 28 days. By numerical analysis four parameters of bilinear softening curve from 1 day to 28 days were obtained. The obtained fracture parameters and bilinear softening curves at early ages may be used as a fracture criterion and an input data for finite element analysis of concrete at early ages.

Effects of Crack Velocity on Fracture Resistance of Concrete (콘크리트의 파괴저항에 대한 균열속도의 영향)

  • Tests of concrete CLWL-DCB specimens had been conducted with displacement-controlled dynamic loading. The crack velocities for 381mm crack extension were 0.80 mm/sec ~ 215m/sec. The external work and the kinetic and strain energies were derived from the measured external load and load-point displacement. The fracture resistance of a running crack was calculated from the fitted curves of the fracture energy required for the tests. The standard error of the fracture energy was less than 3.2%. The increasing rate of the fracture resistance for 28 mm initial crack extension or micro-cracking was relatively small, and then the slope of the fracture resistance increased to the maximum value at 90∼145 mm crack extension depending on crack velocity. The maximum fracture resistance remained for 185 mm crack extension, and then the faster crack velocity showed the faster decreasing rate of the maximum fracture resistance. The maximum fracture resistance increased proportionally to the logarithm of the crack velocity from 142 N/m to 217 N/m when the crack velocity was faster than 0.273 m/sec. The maximum fracture resistance of the fastest tests was similar to the average fracture energy density of 215 N/m. To measure the fracture resistance of concrete, the stable crack extension should be larger than 90∼145 mm depending on crack velocity.

A Study on Fatigue Crack at Coped Stringers of the Plate Girder Subway-Bridge (플레이트거더 지하철교량 세로보의 피로 균열에 관한 연구)

  • A fatigue crack found at the coped stringer of the old dismantled Dangsan Subway Bridge was numerically simulated. A model of a single span of the plate girder bridge with its beam elements was created and analyzed in order to obtain the nominal stress history caused by trains. A detailed FEM analysis of the coped stringer was conducted using a shell element model. A fracture mechanical model was used to estimate crack propagation. The stress intensity factors were calculated using the J-Integral method. The simulation with some reasonable assumptions showed that the calculated crack lengths were comparable to those found on the site.

  • The numerical simulation of Brazilian fracture toughness test is carried out using PFC code and the influence parameters are analyzed such as shape of loading plane, size of Brazilian disc and unit panicle of model, loading angle and loading rate. The flattened Brazilian disc is adopted for applying uniform load. The range of loading angle(2$\alpha$) necessary to induce the tensile crack at disc center and to obtain the load-displacement curve giving the critical load for the stable crack propagation is shown as 20$^{\circ}$~40$^{\circ}$. In condition that the loading angle is 20$^{\circ}$, the mode-I fracture toughness is evaluated almost constant in the range of particle size less than I mm and loading rate less than 0.01 mm/s. This range of influence parameters seems appropriate condition for the tensile crack initiation at disc center and the control of stable crack propagation, which can give the reliance in evaluation of fracture toughness by Brazilian test.

  • In this study, in order to asses the structural performance of trapezoidal PSC girder using a socket joint system and it is possible to calculate the optimized cross-section of the web element tests were carried out for each specimens. we conducted a socket joint performance test, web bending and shear performance tests and all tests were performed at 4 point loading method. The initial crack load of socket joint specimen was significantly lower than the reference specimen but post peak behavior was no significant differences. And the length of the loop joint of the reinforcing bars had no significant effect on the maximum load. As a web shear tests, to obtain a maximum load of the specimen has a prestressing rod reinforced at tension side. As a web flexural tests, to obtain higher diagonal cracking load in specimen of reinforced using prestressing rod than reference specimen.

  • 현재까지 SFCP 해석법은 기초단계에 있으며, 아직도 정립된 방법이 없는 것이 사실이다. 따라서, 이 분야에는 많은 개선을 필요로 하고 있다. 이와 같은 개선은 이론적인 연구뿐만이 아니라, 실험적인 연구가 바탕이 되어야 라며, 동시에SFCP에 영향을 주는 초기균열의 변동성, 하중의 변동성 등을 정확한 모델링 방법에 대한 연구가 병행되어야 한다. 그리고 더 나아가서 실제 구 조물에서 피로파괴에 영향을 주는 중요한 요소인 잔류응력, 부식 등의 고려하는 방법에 관한 연구가 수행 되어져야 할 것이다. 또한, 지금까지의 연구가 주로 구조부재에 하나의 균열이 존 재한다는 가정을 내포하고 있는데, 실구조물에 적용하기 위해서는 여러개의 균열이 동시에 존 재하는 경우에 대한 연구와 균열이 성장하면서 합체(coalescence)하는 경우에 대한 연구도 수행 되어야 한다. 이와 같은 연구가 꾸준히 진행되어 소기의 성과를 거둠으로써, 구조물의 피로파괴 확률을 정확하게 추정할 수 있을 것이며, 이에 따라 합리적인 설계가 가능해질 것이다.

  • The inelastic response of many structural steel and reinforced concrete structures subject to extreme loadings can be characterized by elastoplastic behaviors. Although excursion beyond the elastic range is usually not permitted under normal conditions of service, the extent of permanent damage a structure may sustain when subjected to extreme conditions, such as severe blast or earthquake loading, is frequently of interest to the engineer. A blast is usually the result of an explosion defined as a "sudden expansion". This paper discusses the basic concept that defines blast loadings on structures and corresponding elastoplastic structural response (displacement, velocity, and acceleration) and try to explain a crack propagation of concrete in sudden expansion. According to nonlinear finite element analysis, the crack forms of static and dynamic states displayed different in RC structural members. This paper also provides useful data for the dynamic fracture analysis of RC frame structures.
