릴레이 인터뷰-엄서호 교수

  • 이번호 릴레이 인터뷰 주인공으로 경기대학교 관광학부 엄서호 교수를 만나본다. 엄서호 교수는 농촌관광 마케팅 전문가로 관광모지론, 아마추어 관광 활성화론 등을 주창해 왔다. 지난 2004년에는 한국어촌어항협회가 운영기관으로 선정된 해양관광 포털 '바다여행'의 정보화전략을 수립하였고 2005년에는 어촌체험마을 컨설팅 사업 등에 참여해 우리나라 바다관광의 방향이 어업인이 중심이 되는 아마추어 관광 활성화에 초점이 모아지도록 유도하였다는 평가를 받고 있다. 현재 미국에서 연구활동을 하고 있는 엄교수와 웹메일 인터뷰를 실시해 본다.

A Study about Information Demand and Satisfaction of Medical Tourists who Visit Korea: focusing on Chinese and Russian (방한 의료관광객의 정보요구도 및 만족도 연구: 중국인 러시아 인을 중심으로)

  • In Korea, management support has been given at the government level for activities to attract foreign patients. China and Russia ranked on top of the lists for in-bound medical tourists. The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences of medical tourists in Korea, the demand for information, and the level of satisfaction regarding their experiences. 100 cases of medical tourists from China and Russia were collected through the mail survey. While Chinese used beauty, skin-care related products, Russian experienced the grocery shopping and wellness related services. Most patients from both nationalities experienced the traditional food in Korea and wanted to know about beauty products. Chinese wanted to get more information about Korean traditional food Russian. Finally, Russian showed higher overall satisfaction scores than Chinese respondents. If we reflect these results as a contents, it can be useful to attract foreign patients.

A Research on the Cabin Service Quality Factors in a National Carrier affecting Overseas Tourist's Experience and Satisfactiont (여객의 해외여행 관광지 관광체험과 관광만족에 영향을 미치는 국적항공사 객실서비스 품질 요인 연구)

  • This study analyzed empirically the effects of the perception of outbound passengers, who flew from Korea to overseas tourist destinations, on the cabin service quality, tourist experience, and tourist satisfaction. For empirical analysis, a survey was given to Korean passengers using a national carrier of South Korea. Based on empirical analysis, the researchers judged that the analysis results and implications could be applied to inbound foreign passengers who visited Korea for the tourism purposes if researchers generated significant results from empirical analysis. This paper designed a research model that represented the meaningful relationship among, airline cabin-service quality, tourist experience, and tourist satisfaction following preceding research. According to the analysis, that factors that consisted of the cabin service quality had a significant effect on the tourist satisfaction with a mediating effect of both the cognitive and emotional tourist experience. Therefore, the perception on airline's cabin service quality of the national carrier would be a starting point that can help improve the tourist satisfaction.

  • In this study the author analysed impact of image of regional festival on satisfaction of tourists and their intention for revisit through an example of firefly festival in Youngyang-kun. Current Firefly Festival of Youngyang is its fifth since its beginning. Unlike festivals in other areas it is held during daytime and nighttime respectively. In it natural environment and ecosystem in Youngyang area are highlighted and it is unique in the sense that such festival is performed with live insects. Festival is organized with various sights to see including experiencing flying fireflies in nighttime and making insects etc. In this study the author analysed impact of image of regional festival on satisfaction of tourists and their intention for revisit. In this connection this author chose 20 items in connection with image of regional festival. Then I carried out analysis on various factors in connection with tourists as appeared in regional festival. I performed analysis on diversity, experience, convenience, conveyance of content of festival and its creativity as factors constituting satisfaction of tourists in connection with image of regional festival. Result of analysis undertaken in this study revealed that image of regional festival and satisfaction of tourists who experienced festivals served to their expressing intention for revisiting. For inducing tourists intention for revisiting image of regional festival, conveyance of diverse information, diversity of program of the festival, new experience, sense of expectation are important. Therefore this is need for development of environment and ecosystem friendly programs and it should be developed as a consistent environment friendly festival rather on temporary touch- and-go event.

  • This research focuses on rural interpreter's behaviors and needs in rural tourism village around country. Although it happens that many farm tourism guides are accomplished in rural tourism village, but significant interest on this topic has not been identified yet. Therefore the primary objective of this study lies in identifying rural interpreter's behaviors and needs who is active play in rural tourism village. The study was conducted in a small rural community where tourism is still at its emerging stage. It was found that rural interpreter played active role by studying about rural culture and farm interpret for himself. But they was pointed out multifarious activities with various rural experience guide, and they used reality in the process of the interpret, but not village history. farm tourism guides demanded their expertise or special ability.

  • The purpose of research is to suggest the direction of rural tourism and food products by looking at the relevance of the intrinsic motivation and food preference. Through the analysis, factors of 'leisure oriented', 'family oriented', 'relationship oriented', 'health oriented', and food preference 'cooking health', 'material function', 'local resource' and 'consume experience' were extracted. Through the correlation analysis, 'leisure and health oriented' was found to be significant with cooking health, 'relationship and health oriented' was significant with material function, 'leisure, family and relationship oriented' was significant with local resource and 'relationship oriented' was significant with consume experience. Therefore, tourists who want rest, healing and health need to provide healthy dishes, tourists who want family and leisure provide local or special dishes, and tourists who want to have a relationship with people need to provide functional foods or herbal medicine dishes. Food products that meet the needs of tourists will induce revisit by increasing tourist satisfaction and bring economic revitalization of the region through the expansion of rural tourism.

  • 발리는 '신들의 섬', '세계의 아침', '지상의 마지막 낙원' 등의 이름을 갖고 있는 세계적으로 유명한 관광지이다. 본 논문의 목적은 이러한 세계적으로 유명한 여행목적지인 발리 관광을 통해 한국인은 동남아에 대해 어떤 인상을 갖게 되는가를 연구하고자했다. 최근 한국과 동남아 사이에 인간의 이동이 빈번해짐에 따라 문화교류 및 교차가 발생할 것을 전제로 하여 '한국 속 동남아현상'의 원인과 경로, 결과 등을 연구하는 배경 가운데, 특히 초국가적 단기이동으로서 관광을 통해 문화교류 및 교차에 대한 이해를 높이고자 한 것이다. 우선 관광목적지로 유인하는 요인에는 사회적, 지리적, 생태환경적, 문화적, 심리적 등등 다양한 요인들이 있고, 이러한 유인요인들을 매력적인 관광상품으로 개발하여 세계인들을 더 많이 유치하는 데는 관광정책에 달려있다. 무엇보다 민주화 이후 발리관광정책은 천해의 자연 및 지리조건은 물론 발리가 보유하고 있는 독특한 힌두문화, 그리고 발리를 신, 인간, 자연의 조화와 그 속에서의 평화를 체험할 수 있는 공간으로서 그 목적을 갖고 있다. 이러한 관광전략을 '지속가능한 그리고 공동체에 기초한 발전' 전략이라고 볼 수 있다. 설문지 경험분석을 통해 한국인이 발리에 도착하기 전까지 발리를 관광지로 선택하는데 영향을 준 미디어는 TV 드라마가 제일 크고, 인터넷, 여행정보지 그리고 지인 등의 순으로 나타나고, 한국인이 발리를 관광지로 선택하는 가장 큰 요인은 뜨거운 태양과 해변, 아름다운 자연환경임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 발리에 도착하여 발리에 대한 매력으로 느끼는 요소는 첫째가 역시 자연환경에서 주는 만족도가 제일 높고, 흥미로운 특징으로 볼 수 있는 것은 두 번째 요소가 편리한 숙박시설 즉, 잘 갖춰진 호텔에 대한 만족도가 2순위, 쇼핑이 3순위 그리고 다양한 문화와 예술이 4순위이다. 그리고 마지막으로 발리에 대한 이미지도 역시 자연환경에 대한 이미지가 가장 많은 영향을 차지하고 있고, 평화로움 그리고 신비로움 등이 발리에 대한 이미지로 자리잡고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 결국 초국가적 단기이동으로 한국인 발리행 관광을 통해 동남아적 자연환경과 문화에 대한 체험은 갖게 되지만, 단기이동의 한계로서 문화교류와 교차가 실질적으로 발생하는 것은 아니라고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 발리는 초국가적 문화의 장으로서 한국인을 포함하여 세계인과 함께 문화교류 및 교차의 장으로서 기능하고 있다고 볼 수 있다.

Effects of Cultural Tourism Festival's Experiential Elements on Brand Value and Festival Image -With Focus on Ganggyeong Fermented Seafood Festival- (문화관광축제 체험요소가 브랜드가치와 축제이미지에 미치는 영향 -강경발효젓갈축제를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of cultural tourism festival's experiential elements on brand value and festival image. The object of this study was the participants of Ganggyeong Fermented Seafood Festival. 260 questionnaires were distributed and analyzed 251 collected questionnaires with SPSS18.0. The results of this study are summarized as followings. First, cultural tourism festival's experiential elements influences brand value, and playfulness, placeness and deviation among the variables of experiential elements positively influence. Second, uniqueness, contents, and functionality of variables of brand value positively influence festival image. It showed that when the organizer offered exciting experiential program which the participants didn't experienced, it influenced brand value and festival image more positively.

Development of story-based growth type content using 3D printing (3D프린팅을 활용한 스토리 기반 성장형 콘텐츠 개발)

  • Recently, diverse bio-growth and object production experience learning contents have been developed for AR-based storytelling. In this paper, we will develop a storytelling-based growth type content using 3D printer which can add interest in and motivation of experiential learning. It is possible to increase the value of the characters produced by 3D printer as they can be used as personal collections. The bio-growth type content enables the learners and users to experience the local culture, history, and tourism ecology, which can enhance the educational effect by promoting their understanding in a fun way. The purpose of this study is to develop an application for experiential learning contents which creates a virtual environment in an object smart device where you can experience the culture and ecology of a learning community, and then produce the output using the 3D printer to keep as a personal souvenir. The developed contents application for experiential learning can be utilized not only for students but also for tourists. It is expected to serve as a source for further development of various contents through 3D printing technology.
