Effect of Oyster Shell, Fly Ash and Gypsum Application on Rice Yield and Quality (패각, 석탄회 및 석고 시용이 벼 수량과 미질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the combined effects of oyster shell, fly ash and gypsum on rice yield and quality. The four treatments of soil amelioration were oyster shell 4, fly ash 80, fly ash 56 + gypsum 24 and oyster shell 0.8 + fly ash 40 + gypsum 24 ton/ha. Rice yield were in the order of oyster shell, fly ash and control plats. The pH, EC values and OM, Ca, $SO_4$, moisture contents of the top-soil after rice harvesting in soil amelioration treatments were increased, while Mg, Na, Fe, Zn and Al were decreased than those of control. Rice quality was the best in the fly ash plat due to lower T-N and higher Mg/K ratio.

Effects of Phospho-gypsum Fertilizer as Reclamation Material in the Newly Reclaimed Paddy Fields (간척지 논의 부산석고비료 시용효과)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the application effects of phospho-gypsum fertilizer (PGF) as reclamation material in the newly reclaimed paddy fields located in Goheung and Youngam, Jeonnam province in Korea. The PGF used in this experiment was produced by Namhae Chemical Co. as the name of Soil-Saver$^{TM}$. Prior to rice transplanting, the PGF was applied as soil amendment as the amount of $3,000kg\;ha^{-1}$. The PGF increases rice plant height and number of tiller at the heading stage by 119.9 cm and 9.1, respectively, in Youngam area. The harvest index of brown rice increased up to 5 and 13% more in the PGF applied paddy field from both sites than in the non-application of PGF at paddy field before rice transplanting, and the ripening ratio in increased in both sites to 81 and 90%. Protein content of brown rice was also greater than in the non-application of PGF at the both sites. For the effects of the reclamation by PGF in the paddy field soils, we found that PGF reduced exchangeable Na to 18 and 28% for both sites, respectively, and increased exchangeable Ca and $SO_4$. And we found relatively higher amounts of $K_2O$, CaO and MgO in the rice plants from both sites applied with PGF.

Physicochemical Changes of Swine Manure by the Treatment of Acid and Alkali for Inactivation of Pathogenic Microorganisms (병원성미생물의 불활성화를 위한 산·알칼리처리가 양돈분뇨의 이화학적 성상에 미치는 영향)

  • Disinfecting contaminated swine manure with FMD (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) and pathogenic viruses is very important for maintaining sanitized environment. However, very few research reported on this subject, especially post-disinfection to utilize the wastes as a renewable resource. This research is carried out to obtain basic information for chemical treatment in FMD SOP (Standard Operating Procedure, Korea) of contaminated swine manure. Using lime, sodium hydroxide, citric acid and hydrochloric acid, described in FMD SOP, the effects of chemical treatments on livestock manure were compared in this paper. Four combinations of alkali-acid treatments and four kinds of acid-alkali combinations were tested to find out the effective method. Total coliform bacteria in contaminated swine manure, $1.6{\times}10^4$ CFU/100 ml, decreased to the range of 1/1000~1/100 in all treatments. Some specific disinfectants increases BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and EC(Electric Conductivity), especially, alkaline treatments increases ammonia level than acid treatments. These findings suggest that the treatment methods should be considered as an important environmental factor in post-disinfection of contaminated animal manure with pathogenic microorganisms.

Effect of Light Intensity and Nutrient Strength on Growth and Nutrient Uptake of Begonia hiemalis ′Britt dark′ During Seedling Stage (광강도와 배양액 농도가 유묘기의 베고니아 생육과 양분 흡수에 미치는 영향)

  • 분화용 베고니아 유묘기의 양분흡수 특성을 구명하기 위하여 광강도와 배양액 농도 처리하에 실험을 진행하였다. 엽면적은 광에 의한 차이는 크게 나타나지 않았고 양액의 농도는 EC가 1.0 dSㆍm$^{-1}$처와 1.5 dSㆍm$^{-1}$에서 0.5 dSㆍm$^{-1}$보다 높게 나타났다. 초장은 광강도가 가장 낮은 처리구에서 길었고 약 38%와 60% 차광율 처리사이에는 큰 차이가 없었다. 또한 배양액의 농도에 따라서는 EC가 1.5 dSㆍm$^{-1}$인 처리구에서 EC가 1.0 dSㆍm$^{-1}$과 0.5 dSㆍm$^{-1}$인 처리구보다 초장이 길었다. 엽의 생체중도 처리에 따라 유의적인 차이가 나타났다. 광강도가 가장 낮은 처리구에서 생체중이 가장 높았으나 엽의 건물중은 처리간 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 배양액의 농도처리에 있어서 EC가 1.0 dSㆍm$^{-1}$과 1.5 dSㆍm$^{-1}$인 처리구에서 EC가 0.5 dSㆍm$^{-1}$인 처리구보다 엽의 생체중이 높게 나타났다. 그러나 배양액의 농도는 엽의 건물중에 영향을 주지 않았다. 줄기의 생체중과 건물중은 처리간 차이가 크게 나타나지 않았다. 다량원소의 흡수율을 조사한 결과 주로 배양액의 농도가 증가함에 따라 양분의 흡수율이 증가한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 광강도의 차이에 따라서 양분의 흡수율이 영향을 받는다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 광강도가 매우 낮은 처리구에서 양액의 흡수는 적었지만 높은 양분흡수율을 보였고 이러한 특성은 각 이온의 종류에 따라 약간의 차이를 보였다.

A Garbage Collection of Message Logs without Additional Messages on Causal Message Logging Protocol (인과적 메시지 로깅 기법에서 부가적 메시지 교환 없는 메시지 로그 쓰레기 처리 기법)

  • 이 논문은 인과적 메시지 로깅 기법에서 결함 포용을 목적으로 안전 저장 장치(stable storage)에 저장되는 메시지 내용 로그와 메시지 순서 로그의 쓰레기 처리 기법을 제안한다. 기존의 인과적 메시지 로깅을 기반으로 한 메시지 로그 쓰레기 처리 기법은 메시지 순서 로그의 쓰레기만을 처리하였다. 메시지 내용 로그는 불필요한 복귀를 피하기 위해 유지해야 하며, 메시지내용 로그의 쓰레기 처리를 위해서는 부가적인 메시지를 필요로 하였다. 이 논문은 인과적 메시지 로깅 기법에서 메시지 내용 로그와 메시지 순서 로그가 쓰레기 처리되어지기 위해 필요한 조건을 새롭게 정의하며, 이 정의를 기반으로 한 메시지 내용 로그와 메시지 순서 로그의 쓰레기 처리 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제시된 조건을 기반으로 한 메시지 내용 로그와 메시지 순서 로그의 쓰레기 처리는 송수신 메시지에 부가된 MAG(Modified Antecednce Graph)를 이용하므로 쓰레기 처리를 위한 부가적인 메시지를 발생시키지 않는다. 하지만 제안된 기법은 일반 메시지가 송수신되기 전까지 쓰레기 처리가 지연되는 '지연 쓰레기 처리 현상(lazy garbage collection)'을 발생시킨다. 하지만 '지연 쓰레기 처리 현상'은 분산 시스템의 일관성을 위배하지 않으며, 쓰레기 처리를 위한 부가적인 메시지 교환을 필요로 하지 않는다.

한외여과(UF)막을 이용한 상수처리 공정의 확립 및 최적화

  • 기존의 정수처리 공정은 응집-침전-급속여과처리를 주로 사용하면서 생물 활성탄처리-오존처리 등을 거치는 공정으로 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 응집제의 투여시 최적 응집제량, 최적 응집제 투여위치, 교반시간, pH 조절 등 번거러운 test가 선행 되어야 하며 처리수에 남아있는 응집제에 의해 2차 오염을 일으켜 침전조의 부지 면적에 따른 대형화등을 초래할 단점이 있다. 따라서 최근에는 이러한 단점을 보완하고 장치의 간소함, 높은 효율의 유지에 따른 후처리 공정의 부하감소 및 운전 조건 인자등의 감소라는 경제적 효과를 기대할 수 있는 막분리공정이 도입되었다. 그러나 분리막 처리공정의 경우 원수에 다량 포함되어 있는 콜로이드 입자들에 의한 flux의 감소 및 fouling 현상으로 인한 막의 수명감소, 처리수량의 감소 및 최적 설계 및 운전 방법등의 새로운 공정에 대한 많은 자료의 확보가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 기존의 정수처리 공정에 있어서 전처리 부분에 해당하는 응집-침전-급속여과처리 공정을 분리막 공정으로 대체 하였을 때 분리막의 재질 및 module의 차이에 따른 처리 능력을 비교하고 각 단위 공정들에 의한 flux 변화, 각 공정별 수질분석, 회복율, 회수율 등을 검토하여 최적 조건의 공정을 확립하여 후처리 공정의 효율을 극대화 하는데 있다.

  • Effects of Foliar spray of Kinetin on the growth and metabolism of mulberry tree was investigated in this studies. The results are summarized as follows; 1. Appropriate level of Kinetin for the optimal growth of mulberry tree was 100ppm. 2. In the non-fertilizer, N, P, K, and N+P+K treated plots supplemented with Kinetin, the growth of mulberry tree was generally promoted, especially in the roots, in comparison to non-supplemented plots. The effect was notably outstanding in the N, and N+P+K treated plots. 3. The mechanism by which the growth of root is stimulated was fundamentally attributed to the hypertrophy of unit cells. 4. The chlorophyll contents of the leaves in the Kinetin supplemented plots were higher than that of the non-supplemented, especially in the N, and N+P+K treated ones. 5. Likewise, total sugar contents of Kinetin supplemented plots were higher than that of the non-supplemented. Particularly the N+P+K treated plots showed higher level of sugar contents. In other plots, there were no significant differences in the level of sugar contents. 6. The activity of GOT and GPT was higher in the Kinetin supplemented plots, particularly in the N, and N+P+K treateated. 7. The contents of ascorbic acid were increased in plots with kinetin supplement in the order of N+P+K>potassium>Nitrogen>phosphorus$\geq$non-fertilizer. 8. Difference between Kinetin treatment and non-treatment was not recognized in the contents of inorganic and organic compounds.

  • Brevibacterium flavum treated with phenol derivatives, guaiacol and o-vanillin has been revealed the marked increased ability in glutamic acid fermentation as 14.2 g/l in o-vanillin treated, 12.5 g/l in guaiacol treated while the 7.0 g/1 in nontreated cell. The increased ability of phenol derivatives treated cells in glutamic acid fermentation was ascribed to the formation of charge-transfer complex between phenols and oxygen. The charge-transfer complex effectively supply the oxygen to the fermention system in spite of high potential gradient in oxygen transfer formed by high cell concentration as insulator on film of air-liquid interface.

Quality characteristics of Yakju containing pretreated lotus leaves (전처리를 달리한 연잎을 이용한 약주의 품질특성)

  • This study aimed to find an effective preservation method of lotus leaves for the preparation of lotus-leaf Yakju throughout the year. The characteristics of Yakju containing lotus leaves pretreated by blanching, steaming, roasting, and drying were investigated in this study. The chemical properties of Yakju (pH, amino acidity, alcohol content, and volatile acid content) were significantly different for all treatments, except for the total acid content. The polyphenol content ranging from 315.89 to 462.63 ppm (p<0.05) was significantly different depending on pretreatment method L color value for Yakju was not significantly different all treatments, while a value was significantly different in Yakju containing frozen stored leaves after pretreatment. The b value was lowest for the blanching treatment, and was significantly different for all treatments. Among the organic acids present in Yakju, the oxalic, citric, and malic acid contents were significantly different for all treatments. In sensory evaluation, lotus-leaf Yakjus containing fresh leaves and dried leaves were preferred to the others in color and flavor among Yakjus prepared with lotus leaves before cold storage. However, among the Yakjus prepared with lotus leaves after cold storage, that containing blanched leaves was preferred to the others in terms of flavor, taste, and overall acceptability.

Effect of Plant Growth Regulators on Minimizing Ozone Injury in Tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum L.) (식물생장조절제(植物生長調節劑) 처리(處理)가 담배의 오존 피해경감(被害輕減)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This experiment was conducted to find out the effects of ABA and IAA on activities of antioxidant enzymes, antioxidant content, and growth of tobacco under exposure to ozone. The exposure to ozone in tobacco plant significantly decreased plant height, but it did not show any difference in vegetative characteristics except plant height of IAA $10^{-3}$M treated. Total chlorophyll content of NC 82 was dramatically decreased with increase in days after ozone treatment. However, reduction of chlorophyll was minimized when plant growth regulators were treated before ozone exposure. Three days treament of ozone in tobacco increased ascorbic acid of oxidised form, while slightly decreased `in reduced ascorbic acid by IAA treatment. But seven days of ozone treatment showed increase in ascorbic acid and decrease in dehydroascorbic acid. Ozone treatment did not show any difference in glutathione content and glutathione reductase activity when plant growth regulators were treated. Activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD), ascorbate peroxidase(AP) and guaiacol peroxidase(GP) were increased by the exposure to ozone for three days. However, there were no difference in activities of SOD, AP and GP due to exposure to ozone for seven days. These reactions may be interpreted as protective responses to prevent or alleviate the damage of tobacco plant by ozone exposure.
