Impact of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Environment on Economic Growth based on Country Data - Focusing on Moderating Effect of Trade and Innovation - (기업가적 행동과 환경이 국가 경제성장에 미치는 영향 - 무역과 혁신의 조절효과를 중심으로 -)

  • Given the increasing importance of entrepreneurship in a nation's economic growth, this study empirically examined the effect of entrepreneurial behavior and environment on economic growth based on country level data. While previous studies have centered on entrepreneurship as a dominant variable that impacts economic growth, this study has extends the discussion by empirically testing the effects of two entrepreneurial variables, which are entrepreneurial behavior and entrepreneurial environment, on economic growth. Furthermore, the study attempted to examine the moderating effects of trade and innovation on the relation between the independent variables and economic growth. According to the panel analysis using data from GEM and World Bank, both entrepreneurial behavior and environment affected national economic growth, completely or partly. Results showed that opportunity-driven entrepreneurial behavior has a significant effect on economic growth, suggesting that qualitative aspect of entrepreneurial activities are critical to economic growth. The results also indicated that both trade and innovation have significant moderating effects on the relationship between governmental support program and economic growth.

  • Purpose - The purpose of the paper is to show that the Effects of graduate wages on support program of UIC is the main topic, due to point of view of the need for change from school-level to student-level. UIC support program is divided into four areas: infra, education, Commercialization, start-up. Design/Methodology - Data were collected three survey from a University UIC Survey(2012) and Self-diagnostic research(2012), and Employment Training Panel(2012). UIC support program is divided into four areas, and graduate wages is researched Average monthly wage, bonuses, additional duty allowance. Statistical methods is used basic statistics, crosstabs, regression analysis Findings -There is was much higher effects in total wages of three variable, first on much Intellectual Property Registration(IP) in university teachers, second university students have founded a private space for start-up, and third much national certification staff from the university. Implications - The issue is that UIC education can not be greater practical effect on the wages of graduates yet. Actively support and quality training support from the government in the UIC program is expected to be followed.

  • The purpose of this study is making a contribution to expand course of employment precluding students from fear and perception of danger related to establishing fashion business and improving self-confidence with practical businesses through an education experiencing in establishing fashion business with united both theory and practice. In this study, A Merchandise-Process consisting of researching, merchandising, marketing, selling has been applied after selection of fashion items by 4 groups of applicants. As a result, the result of these applicants's reaction has shown that most of them has improved self-confidence and felt a sense of accomplishment about practical businesses. The Applicant has experienced the market situation, realized reality of the business and formed human relationships with many people through the marketing. In conclusion, experience of applicants has shown that practical education is important because it was providing applicants with self-confidence of establishing fashion business, importance of teamwork and a sense of accomplishment about making a profit. Therefore, converting theoretical education to practical education is needed. A limitation of this study is that the detailed part of merchandising was omitted because the whole course of merchandising should be accomplished within a semester. To develop this study, detailed proceeding methods divided by one process is required.

  • 우리나라에서의 기존 산학연 협력에 관한 연구는 주로 대학의 역할을 강조하였다. 그러나 출연(연)이 지난 $30^{\sim}40$년간 연구개발 수행과정에서 축적된 혁신역량을 국가차원에서 효율적으로 활용할 필요가 있다. 특히 최근 들어 중소기업의 기술경쟁력 강화에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있는 시점에서 정부출연기관에 의한 중소기업 지원의 타당성과 필요성에 대하여 실증적으로 도출한 연구가 부족한 것이 사실이다. 이 연구는 기존의 추상적인 정책제안을 탈피하여 1,077개의 중소기업과 13개 정부연구기관의 373명의 연구원들을 대상으로 한 광범위한 설문조사를 분석하여 중소기업이 실질적으로 요구하는 기술의 유형과 지원의 형식 및 정부연구기관의 연구원들이 체감하는 기술공급의 문제점들을 중심으로 고찰하고자 한다. 설문조사결과 정부연구기관이 지역을 기반으로 한 중소기업과 대학 등 국가기술혁신체제 속의 연구개발주체들을 네트워크화 하여 기술지식과 정보의 유통, 활용을 촉진하는 매개체로서의 역할을 수행하여 지역혁신 지원 조직이 공동으로 지역 중소기업을 위한 산 학 연 종합기술지원 사업을 추진할 것을 요구함을 발견하였다.

Perception About the Elderly Among Undergraduate Students Interested in the Elderly Care Business (노인관련 창업에 관심있는 대학생들의 노인인식)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the perception about the elderly among undergraduate students interested in the elderly care business. Method: In this descriptive research, a total of 183 undergraduate students were participated. The instrument was consisted of a 18-item semantic differential scale developed by Sanders et al (1984). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficients by SPSS 18.0. Result: Undergraduate students' perception about the elderly was slightly positive($2.98{\pm}1.51$). The significant factors associated with the perception about the elderly were gender, age, present residing state with the elderly, experience of residing with the elderly at the past. Male students' perception about the elderly was more positive than female. Among 18 items, 'wise' and 'knowledgeable' was highly related to the perception about the elderly(r=.671, p=.001). Conclusion: These findings indicate that the items of optimistic, attractive, flexible and good were the impressive perceptions about the elderly for the undergraduate students. The result of this study can be utilized to promote perception about the elderly among undergraduate students.

Development of Fashion Product Entrepreneurship Education Process for Crowdfunding (Part I) -Focusing on Wadiz Rewards-based Crowdfunding- (크라우드펀딩을 위한 패션제품 창업교육과정 개발 (제I보) -와디즈(Wadiz) 보상형 크라우드펀딩을 중심으로-)

  • This study proposes an entrepreneurship education process for fashion product start-ups through rewards-based crowdfunding. It examines issues such as: the general concept of crowdfunding and the pros and cons of rewards-based crowdfunding, the detailed curriculum plans in a chronological order for the regular class development, and the presentation of a visual plan to show the whole process. An entrepreneurship education process is developed in 13 steps: research on crowdfunding market, prototype plan, prototype production, story development, visual contents development, rewards development, project evaluation, public schedule & service setting, period setting & start funding, community management (Q&A), funding ends & deposit, complete manufacturing & start delivering, and the final information disclosure & open the next project plan. This research is intended to investigate rewards-based crowdfunding as a new paradigm of entrepreneurship and apply entrepreneurship education in fashion product development. However, it is limited to studying the Wadiz crowdfunding platform in Korea. Therefore, we propose a case study on various crowdfunding platforms in Korea, a case study on entrepreneurial curriculum application, and a follow-up study on the possibility of entry into an overseas crowdfunding platform.

The Study of IT Service Functions for Start-up Information System Supporting Start-up Competency (창업 역량 강화를 지원하는 창업 정보시스템에 필요한 IT서비스 기능 연구)

  • Recently, many people are interesting for Start-up and government also try to support their business because it can contribute economic growth. However, in Korea, despite there are many education and supporting programs for them, many Start-ups are failed to retain their business because they actually do not know what they do. Although prior studies for Start-up have pointed that education for them is very important for success, education programs for them only focus on theories rather than practices. Moreover, Start-ups need tools for supporting to business plans or information for their business. Therefore, in this study, we propose IT service functions for Start-up information system supporting Start-up competency. For this purpose, we conduct Delphi and Importance-Performance Analysis with experts on start-up. In experiments, we divided stage of business into three stages; business planning, implementation, growth and diversification. And we draw important tasks from experts in each stage. As a result, we find some tasks to concentrate for Start-up information systems. And we also find tasks which are not important for company founders. Through these results, we expect that the development of functions for supporting those important tasks will help increase the efficiency of Start-up companies and the survival rate of them.

  • Lately, there is a worldwide boom for start-ups. This trends has led to develop many policies for entrepreneurship in Korea, which focused on college education. Also, as the forth industrial revolution knows no borders, demands of software early education are expanding in line with strong interests in IT (Information Technology). Information technology is now an essential competency for all professionals who need creative thinking. And entrepreneurs are a representative job that requires creative thinking. This study suggests IT competencies-IT planning competencies (ITPC) and IT development competencies (ITDC)-as a core factor of the entrepreneurial intention. This paper is to study the relationship between IT competencies and entrepreneurial Intention. So we investigated IT competence and entrepreneurial intention in university students with a questionnaire. The results of this empirical study can be summarized as follows. First, IT planning competencies have positive influence on entrepreneurial attitude and intention. But IT development competencies do not influence directly on entrepreneurial intention. Second, entrepreneurial attitude have mediating effects in the relationship between IT planning competencies and entrepreneurial intention. So, we need to develop good contents related to the IT planning capabilities when organizing training programs in start-up course. In order to improve the quality of entrepreneurship education, it will be necessary to develop educational contents that can have a broad perspective for understanding the trends of technology convergence and creating opportunities.

  • At the time of so-called localization, the start-up and successful management of NTVs (New technology ventures) might be a key factor of regional economic development. The research investigated the factors influencing the performance of NTVs South-western Area. According to the research result, the capability of CEO and R&D cooperation, supply chain integratim, information searching activities, market orientation are the factors which have positive correlation with the performance of NTVs in a statistically significant way in this region.

  • Recently, the start-up firms have been under the spotlight because they can create many jobs and are regarded as the growth engine of a country in the fourth industrial revolution. Moreover, after the global financial debacle, many countries emphasize on an entrepreneurial spirit and venture firms. they also pay attention to the importance of educations to promote the start-up firms. In this work, based on technology acceptance model, we try to identify the main factors of accepting online start-up education system. We first defined this system as the online start-up education system which refers to a system to support learning for knowledge, experiences and overall process of start-up firms' tasks. This system also simulates tasks related with prep-entrepreneur so that can be regarded as a kind of decision support systems. As this system has some characteristics, we confirmed some factors of extended technology acceptance model. In our experiments, we find that the perceived ease of use and trust are main factors of acceptance for the online start-up education systems. These results mean that the system should be made to be easy and trustful for their users. Therefore, we expect that this work will be helpful to researchers and developers who consider start-up education systems and provide a way to activate founding start-up firms.
