  • 본 연구에서 구축하고자 하는 통합OPAC은 특정 주제의 문헌정보원, 전문가정보원, 통계정보원을 제시해 주는 참고봉사 전문가 시스템, 온라인 열람목록(OPAC), 이용 안내, 외부데이타베이스의 검색 모듈이 결합된 시스템이다. 지식베이스는 문헌정보원 지식베이스, 전문가정보원 지식베이스, 통계정보원 지식베이스로 구성된다. 지시베이스의 추론방법은 전진추론(forword chining) 방식을 채택하였다. 시스템의 구현 환경은 먼저 하드웨어는 IBM 호완기종의 개인용 컴퓨터들(IBM386-DX33이상)을 사용하고 시스템 개발도구로는 전문가시스템과 하이퍼텍스트가 결합된 쉘(shell)인 KPWin++를 이용하였고 문헌정보원, 전문가정보원, 통계정보원에서의 키워드추출 등 정보처리 작업은 터보C를 사용하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the current trends and characteristics of Korean internet searchable Web-based biographical resources by analyzing and evaluating in practices. Four among Korean Web-based biographical resources which have the comprehensive scope are chosen and evaluated by the 9 criteria and their detailed features. This study will allow users and reference librarians to more easily choose pertinent biographical references from the many internet resources. It will be also helpful by allowing publishers to produce more effective biographical information in quality.

A Study on Information Resource Evaluation for Text Categorization (문서범주화 효율성 제고를 위한 정보원 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine whether the information resources referenced by human indexers during indexing process are effective on Text Categorization. More specifically, information resources from bibliographic information as well as full text information were explored in the context of a typical scientific journal article data set. The experiment results pointed out that information resources such as citation, source title, and title were not significantly different with full text. Whereas keyword was found to be significantly different with full text. The findings of this study identify that information resources referenced by human indexers can be considered good candidates for text categorization for automatic subject term assignment.

  • Today. the value of the references comes to be high and the reference database construction is increasing. But. the descriptive regulations of the reference which it presents from scholarly journals different with each other. Also, the researchers probably does not recognize a descriptive regulations of reference. It is likely that the effective construction of reference database is very difficult. So, the purpose of this study analyzes the differences of a descriptive regulations for reference and presents the plan for standardization of a descriptive regulations.

  • This study examines the status of websites operation among libraries affiliated to the Korean Medical Library Association, compares and analyzes website menu organization and information service contents of 29 medical libraries that currently run websites. The followings are results of this study. 1) the main menu of medical library websites is arranged with 'Search for Library Materials, Electronic Resources, Library Service, My Library, Library Guide, and the Bulletin Board.' 2) 15 services were selected as the main information service provided from the medical library website. 3) the information service that was provided from the most institutions was 'Document Copy/ Interlibrary Loan,' followed by 'Loan Reservation/Renewal, Request Library Purchase Book, Off-campus Access, User Education, Reference Resources, Q&A Board, Our Library Pubmed, and Dissertation Submission' in this order.

  • 디지탈도서관은 전세계적인 도서관 및 상업적 정보에 대한 접근과 이들 정보의 전달을 제공해 주는 전자 네트워크를 통해 도서관의 자료 및 정보 서비스 그리고 다른 정보원에 대한 원격 접근의 개념으로 앞으로 다가올 미래의 도서관의 모습이 될 것이다. 본 연구는 디지탈 도서관의 출현으로 인해 전통적인 참고서비스에 대한 역할 변화가 있을 것으로 보고 이에 대한 대안으로서 전자참고서비스를 논하고자 한 것이다.

Content Analysis of Collaborative Digital Reference Service Knowledge Information Database (협력형 디지털 참고서비스(CDRS) 지식정보DB 내용분석 연구)

  • This study analyses the questions and answers contained in the Knowledge Information Database of the collaborative digital reference service, 'Ask a librarian'. And based on the results of status of user requests, this study draws information usage behavior in the early stages of the service was derived. 1,124 Knowledge Information Database items out of 3,506 cases was analyzed by nine criterion. ① Number of questions and whether to be reference questions, ② Subject and keywords of the question, ③ Purpose of the question, ④ Type of question, ⑤ User's information request, ⑥ Information source and reference services provided by the librarian, ⑦ Number of days to answer, ⑧ Level of the participating library, ⑨ Question type by topic. As a results of analysis, first, users asked for reference questions from various topics as needed, rather than one from a similar topic at a time, but more than half of the total pure reference questions were from the field of library information science. Second, about 71.35% of users were using the 'Ask a librarian' service to recommend a list of information resources related to a particular topic or research problem, and there were also questions that required consultation on the reading situation. Third, the most preferred sources of information for users were bibliography, and in the case of online information sources, users did not relatively prefer them. Fourth, the number of days required to answer was able to confirm significant differences depending on the type of question and the level of the participating library. Fifth, 31.33% of the purpose of the general field question showed that were self-generated.

Cooperative System for Virtual Reference Shelves of the University Libraries (대학도서관 가상참고서가의 협동구축)

  • This study is designed to research principles for establishing cooperatively virtual reference shelves of university libraries. To achieve the goal, this study establishes theoretical foundations for virtual reference shelves. Also, we discuss why the virtual reference shelves are necessary via cultural subject of libraries. Second, this study investigates current circumstances of virtual reference shelves' usages. This Investigation is conducted in terms of nine evaluation indexes. The results are used to justify the cooperative establishment for virtual reference shelves. Last, this study discusses actual methods and procedures for establishing cooperatively virtual reference shelves, associating with roles of related institutions.

Question Analysis of the Collaborative Digital Reference Service at the National Library of Korea (협동 디지털참고서비스의 질문 분석: 국립중앙 도서관의 '사서에게 물어보세요'를 중심으로)

  • This study analyses the questions addressed to the collaborative digital reference service run by the National Library of Korea. The data consist of 661 question entries to the 'Ask a Librarian' service during first 6 months in 2014. Each entry includes average 1.17 questions, and 77.82% of the total questions are real reference in nature. Questions are analyzed by classification division, context of the questioner, desired end product, activities of librarians, and the resources used to respond them. Each category is subdivided and analyzed in detail. Results revealed interesting findings and problems, and suggestions for further endeavor are provided.
