Development and Evaluation of an Impulsive Force Test Method for Wearable Airbags (착용형 에어백의 충격력 시험 방법개발 및 평가)

  • Even in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the prevention of industrial accidents is still an important issue in industrial sites. In solving the problem of industrial safety, a product can be difficult to market if there is a lack of standard or method for a reliable performance evaluation. The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a test method for a wearable airbag product for protecting the body from falls that was newly developed to respond to fall accidents in industrial sites. As a research method, reliable evaluation standards were developed and applied through four stages of the evaluation and development process (Step 1: Product review, Step 2: Data research, Step 3: Expert meeting, Step 4: Drawing evaluation standard). In addition, the impact force was evaluated according to the developed evaluation standard. The fall impact force obtained through the evaluation showed a reduction effect of approximately 96% compared to the existing impact force. Therefore, the fall impact force was reduced significantly when the airbag was applied. This will enable new convergence products to be launched on the market and produce an environment where industrial workers can work safely.

A Study on the Hearing Protection Effect of Noise-Filtering Earplugs for Dentists (치과의사를 위한 노이즈 필터링 이어플러그의 청력 보호 효과에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of noise-filtering earplugs on the hearing ability of dentists wearing them during noise-induced dental procedures. Pure tone audiometry and distortion product otoacoustic emission (DPOAE) tests were conducted at the initial visit and 1 year later to evaluate the hearing ability of the participants. As a result of the study, the pure tone average of the group wearing earplugs decreased significantly compared to the group not wearing earplugs, indicating an improvement in hearing. However, the signal-to-noise ratio of the DPOAE tests did not show a significant difference. These findings suggest that noise-filtering earplugs may have some effectiveness in preventing hearing loss. However, since the 1-year observation period may not be adequate to identify changes in hearing, a follow-up study with an extended follow-up period is necessary.

The Effect of Color Filter on the Reading Ability in Teenager with Irlen-Syndrome (얼렌증후군에서 컬러필터가 읽기능력에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of improving read speed with color filter or without color filter to improve reading disorder of teenager who were diagnosed as Meares-Irlen syndrome through survey inspection with Meares-Irlen syndrome visual stress (MISViS) score. Methods: MISViS subjects were selected from screening survey MISViS results given above 2.13 in the clinical criteria scores (MISViS score). Reading speed were measured quickly and efficiently the rate of reading via test in which randomly ordered common words are read aloud during a minute. Each of the subjects were worn a filter of the lowest concentration in each color filter group composed of 15 groups. Results: MISViS score of MISViS group and control group were 2.57 and 0.66, respectively. Results of reading speed with filter and without filter in MISViS group were $102.27{\pm}27.86$ wpm and $118.87{\pm}26.99$ wpm (p=0.001), respectively, as well as were $132.93{\pm}6.88$ wpm and $133.43{\pm}6.64$ wpm (p=0.131) in the normal group. Associated with error changes with filter and without filter between two groups, skipping in MISViS Group were from $0.25{\pm}0.62$ times to 0 times (p=0.191), Errors were from $1.83{\pm}1.69$ times to $0.17{\pm}0.38$ times (p = 0.004) and, repetitions were 0. skipping in control group were 0 times, errors were from $0.21{\pm}0.43$ times to $0.07{\pm}0.27$ times (p=0.336) and, repetitions were from $0.14{\pm}0.36$ times to 0 (p=0.165). The filter of blue series chosen in MISViS group had higher percentage (40%), whereas, subjects in normal group were more likely to prefer the filter of gray color (29%). Conclusions: This study showed that MISViS score have been used as a significant diagnosis for Irlen syndrome screening. This study found that wearing suitable color filter for MISViS patients were useful to improve learning with regard to reading. Unique color filter selection for MISViS subjects must be carefully considered since fit color filter are different personally.

Designing and Fabricating of the High-visibility Smart Safety Clothing (고시인성 스마트 안전의류의 설계 및 제작)

  • The purpose of this study is to progress the limitations and disadvantages of existing safety clothing by applying high technology to current safety clothing that is produced and distributed only with fluorescent fabrics and retroreflective materials. Therefore, the industrial suspender-type safety belt and engineering technology are introduced, designed, and fabricated to help save a life in an emergency. First, the suspender-type safety belt to be developed is designed to emit light by LED attached to the film, and the body of the belt-wearer is recognized from a distance through retroreflection from the flashing LED. It aims to support people's safety by preventing accidents during roadside work, rescue activities, and sports activities at night. Second, with the development of advanced devices when the user is in an unconscious state due to distress or falls into an unconscious state due to distress or accident, the tilt sensor of the control unit attached to the belt automatically detects the angle of the human body and generates light and sound. It is intended to further enhance the utilization by mounting a sensing and signaling device that generates a distress signal and shaping it in the form of a belt attached to a vest that can be easily detached from the outside of the garment. When the wearer falls due to an accident, the tilt sensor of this belt detects the angle change and then the controller generates a high-frequency sound and repeated LED blinking signals at the same time. In the case of conventional safety vests, it is almost impossible to detect that the person is wearing a vest when there is no ambient light, but in case of the safety belts in this study, the sound and light signals of the safety belt enable us to find the wearer within 100 meters even when there is no ambient light.

  • A tear lens formed by between back surface of spherical rigid gas permeable(RGP) contact lens and front surface of cornea shows an excellent correction effect of astigmatism. To study an effects of tear lens power using spherical RGP lens and therefore to utilize them in clinical procedures, we analyze a change of the total astigmatism, the cornea astigmatism, and the residual astigmatism, we derive the following conclusion. 1. Almost all refractive astigmatism below than 2.00D present fully corrected. Thereby resulting good visual acuity. Refractive astigmatism higher than 2.50D show under-corrected and apparent decrease of visual acuity if it is higher than 3.00D. 2. Amount of corneal astigmatism below than 2.50D show acceptable under-corrected while higher than 3.000 present unacceptable visual acuity. 3. An estimated residual astigmatism is not revealed as it is : but it is reduced when it incorporate to refractive astigmatism.

A Study of cut off effect of ultraviolet in sunglasses lens coated with nickel-ferrite thin film NxFe3-xO4 (니켈페라이트 박막 NxFe3-xO4를 이용한 선글라스 렌즈의 자외선 차단효과에 대한 연구)

  • Nickel-ferrite $Ni_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ thin films with several composition for Ni on glass substrate was prepared by ferrite plating method in order to make sunglass which cut off ultraviolet and shield electromagnetic field. It has single phase of polycrystalline spinel structure and has gloss as mirror and has high hardness which is no scratch while scraping by using nail. The transmittance of nickel-ferrite thin film is lowered to zero below 400 nm manifestly. And it shows that the nickel-ferrite thin film in nickel composition rate x = 0.09 was most cut oil ultraviolet when compared with goods of other company in the cut off effect of ultraviolet. Therefore, sunglasses coated with $Ni_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ thin film can be used in removing ultraviolet and electromagnetic field.

  • VR(virtual reality) which already is used commonly in diverse areas including entertainment, design, and simulation training is most important area in ICT. VR already has various uses within the tourism sector. As VR technology continues to evolve, there is little reason to doubt that it will become more prevalent throughout society and the tourism sector in particular. In this paper, we plan to improve the VR content to the market possibility and competitiveness of VR content in the culture industry. Out of focus, lens dust, motion blur, blur effect were minimized to improve the simulation sickness which caused by the cognitive dissonance in the HMD. And also, the content was considered UI design for user's immersion.

  • 본 논문에서는 발달장애 아동의 교육 및 치료에 있어서 감각, 인지훈련을 효과적으로 할 수 있는 웨어러블 기기 및 연동앱을 제시한다. 이를 위해 임베디드 하드웨어를 개발하고 이와 연동할 수 있는 앱, 앱 내 게이미피케이컨텐츠, 학습 내용 및 결과 리포트를 개발했다. 발달장애 아동의 특성을 고려한 하드웨어는 유아 친화적 디자인으로 설계해 아동이 쉽게 착용 가능하며, 주의집중을 위한 감각 훈련을 집중적으로 할 수 있도록 시각, 촉각 등의 자극 촉구 행동을 유도하며, 반복적 교육으로 인한 개선 효과를 제공한다. 개발한 기기 및 연동앱을 직접 교육현장에 적용해봄으로써 주의집중과 저작능력 향상을 위한 센터에서의 지속적인 실사용 가능성을 제고했다.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 차세대 PC는 다양한 입출력 장치를 이용하여 사용자에게 효과적으로 실제와 같은 정보를 제공하며, 사용자들의 편의를 고려해 웨어러블 형태의 플랫폼으로 발전하고 있다. 이러한 사용자 편의를 고려한 기술개발 동향(소형화, 경량화, 착용화)에 발맞추어 웨어러블 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 HCI 방안으로 음성 인식과 합성은 주요한 자리매김을 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는, 현재 정부에서 국가적인 차원으로 연구 개발 중인 차세대 PC 플랫폼 기반에서 음성합성 엔진을 구현하며, 구현상의 문제점 파악 및 개선사항에 대해 제안한다. 또한, 실질적인 구현 결과를 토대로 사용자 편의성 및 S/W 개발 환경을 고러한 차세대 PC플랫폼의 개선사항에 대해 제안을 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 얼굴 인식 기술과 SNS 정보를 이용하여 사람의 얼굴을 기준으로 사진들을 효과적으로 분류하고 검색할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였다. 얼굴 인식 기술을 이용하여 촬영된 사진의 분석을 통해 얼굴로부터 나이, 성별, 안경 착용 유무, 웃는 얼굴 판단 등의 의미적인 정보를 추출한다. 또한, 얼굴 인식을 통해 얻은 SNS 정보에서는 이름, 생일, 학력, 직업, 고향, 관심 분야, 종교 등의 개인적인 정보를 추출 할 수 있다. 추출한 정보를 이용한 효과적인 사진 분류 및 검색을 통해 사용자의 편의를 극대화하였다. 본 논문에서는 구글 안드로이드 기반의 스마트폰에서 제안한 사진 자동 분류 및 검색 시스템을 구현하였다.
