In order to evaluate physiological responses and comfort sensation of the developed thermoregulating textile material, polyester knit fabric was treated with phase change material (PCM) microcapsules by printing. Ten male subjects wearing an experimental best with and without PCMs were seated for 20 minutes, then exercised for 20 minutes, and then seated for 30 minutes in the chamber which was controlled under the temperatures of 20$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 50$\pm$5%R.H. The subject's skin temperature, microclimate inside garment and comfort sensation of two experimental bests were compared one another. As a result, the rectal temperature, skin temperature and mean skin temperature were similar in the two groups, and the subjects were not able to perceive the differences in comfort of the two experimental bests. However, the effect of PCM microcapsule could be seen from microclimate temperature and humidity. The microclimate temperature of the PCM garment at chest was significantly higher during exercise. The microclimate humidity of the PCM garment at chest was significantly lower during exercise and rest.

In this study, the effect of wearing functional compression pants is verified using a lower-limb wearable robot through a bio-signal analysis and subjective fit evaluation. First, the compression area to be applied to the functional compression pants is derived using the quad method for nine men in their 20s. Subsequently, functional compression pants are prepared, and changes in Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals when wearing the functional compression and normal regular pants inside a wearable robot are measured. The EEG and ECG signals are measured with eyes closed and open. Results indicate that the Relative alpha (RA) and Relative gamma wave (RG) of the EEG signal differ significantly, resulting in increased stability and reduced anxiety and stress when wearing the functional compression pants. Furthermore, the ECG analysis results indicate statistically significant differences in the Low frequency (LF)/High frequency (HF) index, which reflect the overall balance of the autonomic nervous system and can be interpreted as feeling comfortable and balanced when wearing the functional compression pants. Moreover, subjective sense is discovered to be effective in assessing wear fit, ease of movement, skin friction, and wear comfort when wearing the functional compression pants.
Purpose: Changes of refractive correction value in different age group were investigated. Regarding the inhibitive effects against myopia progression after wearing reverse geometry contact lenses and myopia control lenses (MC lenses), the effects after wearing single vision lenses were compared. Methods: We organized children between the ages of six and fifteen into three groups by age, and distributed fifty-seven reverse geometry contact lenses, fifty-six MC lenses and seventy-eight single vision lenses among them to be worn. Group 1 consisted of children aged ten and under, Group 2 consisted of children between the ages of eleven and fifteen, and Group 3 represents all of the study participants. The aim of this study was to learn the inhibitive effects against myopia progression attained by changes of refractive correction value and to verify their statistical significance at twelve months and under, thirteen to twenty-four months and twenty-five to thirty-six months. Results: Changes of refractive correction value by each length of use in Group 3 were as follows. For the age group of under twelve months, participants using the reverse geometric contact lens showed no change, while those using the MC or single vision lens had significant changes (P<0.05) of $-0.36{\pm}0.10$ D and $-0.67{\pm}0.52$ D, respectively. Users of all three lens types displayed significant change (P<0.05), in the age group of between thirteen and twenty-four months, of $0.18{\pm}0.49$ D, $0.60{\pm}0.42$ D and $1.37{\pm}0.72$ D for users of the reverse geometry contact lens, the MC lens and the single vision lens, respectively. There were significant changes (P<0.05) of $0.29{\pm}0.61$ D, $0.93{\pm}0.57$ D and $1.72{\pm}0.78$ in the same respective order as the above in the age group of twenty-five to thirty-six months. Refractive correction value showed changes with different age group. Group 1 displayed significant changes (P<0.05) of $0.29{\pm}0.73$ D, $1.07{\pm}0.59$ D and $1.75{\pm}0.74$ D for users of the reverse geometry contact lens, MC lens and single vision lens, respectively, up to thirty-six months of lens wearing; Group 2, also up to thirty-six months, displayed significant changes (P<0.05) of $0.28{\pm}0.42$ D, $0.75{\pm}0.49$ D and $1.70{\pm}0.84$ D in the same respective order, and changes in refractive correction for the age group under ten years was significantly greater (P<0.05) for the age group of eleven and older. Conclusions: The results found in this study demonstrate that there were no changes of refractive correction value for the case of wearing reversing geometry contact lens up to twelve month or less. MC lens showed less changes in variations of visual acuity for all users which might be resulted in inhibiting progression of myoptia. When both reverse geometry contact lens and the MC lens are wearing for the period from 13 to 36 month, both lens showed less changes in variation of visual acuity for all users. The results suggested that the less changes in variation of visual acuity of both lens had an effect on inhibiting progression of myopia.
The gamma energy distributions at the major working places during refueling outage of Korean PWR nuclear power plants were measured. In order to estimate the dose reduction effect of a lead vest, Monte Carlo calculation method was used. For the simulations, the MIRD-V phantom with a lead vest was formed and exposed to the measured radiation field. The average measured gamma energy is lower than that of standard which is generally applied to radiation protection procedures. For the efficient use of a lead vest and achievement of radiation protection purpose, it is necessary to estimate the energy distribution of radiation field at working places.

Purpose: To assess the effect on axial elongation and associated factors between spectacles and of orthokeratology lens (OK) wearing in children with mild to moderate myopia. Methods: A total of one hundred subjects, ranging in age from 6 to 13 years, and with mild to moderate myopia no more than -4.50 diopters in spherical equivalent, visited our clinic from 2013 to 2015. The OK group (75 eyes) and the spectacles group (64 eyes) were compared and analyzed on the axial elongation and associated factors. Results: In the OK group, axial length was elongated in 1 year period with a mean increase of $0.24{\pm}0.29mm$. In spectacles group, axial length was elongated in 1 year period with a mean increase of $0.42{\pm}0.20mm$. The statistically significant suppression of axial elongation was observed in OK group compared to the spectacles group (Mann-Whitney U test, p < 0.05). For OK group, the age of starting OK (Pearson's correlation, r = -0.481, p < 0.05) was the only influencing factor on axial elongation, which had negative correlation with axial elongation. In spectacles group, the age of starting spectacles had negative correlation with axial elongation (Pearson's correlation, r = -0.462, p < 0.05) and baseline spherical equivalent, spherical diopter, cylindrical diopter from manifest refraction had positive correlation with axial elongation. Comparison of axial elongation in orthokeratology lens group and spectacles group by age groups (6 to 9 years [28 eyes], 9 to 13 years [47 eyes]), 9 to 13 years of orthokeratology lens group had the stronger suppression of axial elongation (Mann-Whitney U test, p < 0.05). Conclusions: The OK effectively suppresses axial elongation compared to the spectacles. Although the patients are in age from 9 to 13 years, the axial elongation was effectively suppressed.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the craniofacial skeleton subsequent to chincap therapy in the juvenile skeletal Class III malocclusion with more appropriate control samples. The experimental group consisted of 29 Korean children(14 males, 15 females) who had skeletal Class III malocclusion with prognathic mandible and were undergone chincap thorny from the beginning of treatment. The control group was composed of 21 Korean children(10 males, 11 females) who had no orthodontic treatment, but with similar skeletal discrepancies to experimental group. Lateral cephalometric radiographs at the age of 7, and 2 years later were analyized and compared with student's t-test(p<0.05). The results of this study were as follows; 1. The control group without chincap therapy had not shown any improvement of the skeletal discrepancies, but had grown to be much severe. This means that the untreated Class III patient with prognathic mandible would not be corrected by growth. For the experimental group with chincap therapy, the anterior-posterior skeletal discrepancies and mandibular prognathism were both improved. 2. Neither significant restraint nor acceleration of growth was found in the cranial base and maxilla by chincap treatment. 3. The inhibition of mandibular growth could not be accepted, but the changes of the direction of growth and morphological changes were found. 4. Vertical growth tendency was increased with chincap therapy. 5. When Putting together the results of the analyses , it seems to be the rotation and displacement of the mandible that the major treatment effects of chincap we. The changes of the direction of growth and the morphological changes also seems to contibute to the treatment effect partly. In summary, the chincap doesn't restrain the mandibular growth. But, it is considered as a useful treatment modality for correction of skeletal discrepancies and reduction of mandibular prognathism in growing Class III patients with madibular prognathism.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of shoes with curved out-sole on the posture variation and its control strategy. At first, Target shoes(s) was made by evaluating the static postures of 7-female university students via 'New York State Posture Test' on shoes which made the relative angle between foot surface and ground surface of shoe change. At second, we evaluated muscle activity for 30-female university students(10 persons-3 groups) on shoes which were s(target), m shoes with curved out-sole and n shoes with flat out-sole. 1. The posture scores on New York State Posture Test were statistically different according to the relative angle changes, and the best angle for score was -7 degree but, the scores charts were like two humped camel at -2, -7degree. we made the shoe with -7 degree and curved out-sole. 2. s, m shoes with curved out-sole had graded muscle activities but, static posture on bare foot, there were the graded activity on gastrocnemius for s shoes and tibialis anterior for m shoes, but on shoes, only Gastrocnemius for s shoes.
Purpose: This study was conducted to research effects of influence factors on stereopsis of induced aniseikonia in emmetropia. Methods: 20 college students (a mean age of $22.50{\pm}2.72$ years, 14 males, 6 females) were selected as subjects and all of them had no ocular disease or systemic disease, the refractive correction of spherical equivalent within ${\pm}0.50$ D, the corrected visual acuity of 1.0 or better and the aniseikonia values less than 1% by AWAYA. Subject's dominant eye was checked by Hole in card method and contact lenses of -7.00 ~ +7.00D were fitted to cause anisometropia in dominant eye or non-dominant eye, respectively. And then aniseikonia was induced with spectacles to correct refractive error by contact lenses. Stereopsis was measured by Random Dot Stereo Acuity Test with LEA symbols$^{(R)}$ (Vision Assessment Corporation$^{TM}$, USA). Results: Stereopsis was remarkably reduced by inducing aniseikonia, with induced aniseikonia in dominant eye, with higher diopter of wearing contact lenses to induce anisometropia, with spectacles lenses correction of minus power after fitting contact lenses with plus power and in case of men. Conclusions: It should be considered to correct anisometropia that aniseikonia could cause reduction of stereopsis.
