  • 본 논문에서는 평판구조물의 정적 및 동적해석에 사용할 목적으로 성능이 향상된 평판유한요소를 제시하였다. 이 요소는 비적합변위형과 선택적 감차적분방법 그리고 대체전단변형률장을 복합적으로 적용하여 각각의 장점들을 포함하는 향상된 거동을 보여주고 있다. 또한 비적합변위형의 적용으로 발생되는 조각시험의 실패 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 직접수정법을 평판유한요소의 개선에 사용하였다. 대표적인 검증문제에 대한 수치해석작업을 통하여 본 연구에서 개발한 요소는 가상적인 제로에너지모드 및 전단잠김현상의 발생과 같은 문제를 나타내지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 특히 찌그러진 형상으로 모형화 한 경우에 있어서도 전단잠김현상이 발생하지 않았다. 본 연구에서 수행한 동적반응해석 시험에 있어서도 이론해와 잘 일치하는 결과를 보여주었다.

Adaptive Background Subtraction Based on Genetic Evolution of the Global Threshold Vector (전역 임계치 벡터의 유전적 진화에 기반한 적응형 배경차분화)

  • There has been a lot of interest in an effective method for background subtraction in an effort to separate foreground objects from a predefined background image. Promising results on background subtraction using statistical methods have recently been reported are robust enough to operate in dynamic environments, but generally require very large computational resources and still have difficulty in obtaining clear segmentation of objects. We use a simple running-average method to model a gradually changing background, instead of using a complicated statistical technique. We employ a single global threshold vector, optimized by a genetic algorithm, instead of pixel-by-pixel thresholds. A new fitness function is defined and trained to evaluate segmentation result. The system has been implemented on a PC with a webcam, and experimental results on real images show that the new method outperforms an existing method based on a mixture of Gaussian.

Development of Stability Evaluation Algorithm for C.I.P. Retaining Walls During Excavation (가시설 벽체(C.I.P.)의 굴착중 안정성 평가 알고리즘 개발)

  • To investigate the stability of temporary retaining walls during excavation, it is essential to develop reverse analysis technologies capable of precisely evaluating the properties of the ground and a learning model that can assess stability by analyzing real-time data. In this study, we targeted excavation sites where the C.I.P method was applied. We developed a Deep Neural Network (DNN) model capable of evaluating the stability of the retaining wall, and estimated the physical properties of the ground being excavated using a Differential Evolution Algorithm. We performed reverse analysis on a model composed of a two-layer ground for the applicability analysis of the Differential Evolution Algorithm. The results from this analysis allowed us to predict the properties of the ground, such as the elastic modulus, cohesion, and internal friction angle, with an accuracy of 97%. We analyzed 30,000 cases to construct the training data for the DNN model. We proposed stability evaluation grades for each assessment factor, including anchor axial force, uneven subsidence, wall displacement, and structural stability of the wall, and trained the data based on these factors. The application analysis of the trained DNN model showed that the model could predict the stability of the retaining wall with an average accuracy of over 94%, considering factors such as the axial force of the anchor, uneven subsidence, displacement of the wall, and structural stability of the wall.

Structural Design of Differential Evolution-based Multi Output Radial Basis Funtion Polynomial Neural Networks (차분 진화알고리즘 기반 다중 출력 방사형 기저 함수 다항식 신경 회로망 구조 설계)

  • 본 연구에서는 패턴분류를 위해 기존의 방사형 기저 함수 신경회로망(Radial Basis Funtion Neural Network)과 다항식 신경회로망(Polynomial Neural Network)을 결합한 다중 출력 방사형 기저 함수다항식 신경회로망 (Multi Output Radial Basis Funtion Polynomial Neural Network)의 분류기를 제안한다. 제안된 모델은 PNN을 기본 구조로 하여 1층에 기존의 다항식 노드 대신 다중 출력 형태의 RBFNN을 적용 한다. RBFNN의 은닉층에는 기존의 활성함수가 아닌 fuzzy 클러스터링을 사용하여 입력 데이터의 특성을 고려한 적합도를 사용하였다. PNN은 입력변수의 수와 다항식 차수가 모델의 성능을 결정함으로 최적화가 필요하며 본 논문에서는 Differential Evolution(DE)을 사용하여 모델의 구조 및 파라미터를 최적화시켜 모델의 성능을 향상시켰다. 패턴분류기로써의 제안된 모델을 평가하기 위해 pima 데이터를 이용하였다.

A study on the optimization technique for the plan of slope reinforcement arrangement of soil-nailing in tunnel portal area (터널 갱구사면 쏘일네일링 보강배치계획을 위한 최적화기법 연구)

  • In order to ensure the stability of tunnel portal slope, reinforcement method such as anchors, soil nails and rock bolts have been used in Korea. When selecting slope reinforcement methods in tunnel portal area such as reinforcement arrangement and length, trial and error method can be very time-consuming and it was also not easy to verify the selection of an optimum condition. In this study, using the FISH language embedded in the finite difference code FLAC3D program, the optimization technique was developed with the Differential Evolution Algorithm (DEA). After building a database on the soil nailing method in tunnel portal area, this system can be selected to an optimum arrangement plan based on the factor of safety through the FLAC3D analysis. Through the results of numerical analysis, it was confirmed that the number of analysis was decreased by about 8 times when DEA based optimization technique was used compared to the full combination (FC). In case of the design of slope reinforcement in tunnel portal area, if this built-system is used, it is expected that the selection of an optimum arrangement plan can be relatively easier.

Design of Optimized pRBFNNs-based Night Vision Face Recognition System Using PCA Algorithm (PCA알고리즘을 이용한 최적 pRBFNNs 기반 나이트비전 얼굴인식 시스템 설계)

  • In this study, we propose the design of optimized pRBFNNs-based night vision face recognition system using PCA algorithm. It is difficalt to obtain images using CCD camera due to low brightness under surround condition without lighting. The quality of the images distorted by low illuminance is improved by using night vision camera and histogram equalization. Ada-Boost algorithm also is used for the detection of face image between face and non-face image area. The dimension of the obtained image data is reduced to low dimension using PCA method. Also we introduce the pRBFNNs as recognition module. The proposed pRBFNNs consists of three functional modules such as the condition part, the conclusion part, and the inference part. In the condition part of fuzzy rules, input space is partitioned by using Fuzzy C-Means clustering. In the conclusion part of rules, the connection weights of pRBFNNs is represented as three kinds of polynomials such as linear, quadratic, and modified quadratic. The essential design parameters of the networks are optimized by means of Differential Evolution.

Design of Optimized Fuzzy Controller for Rotary Inverted Pendulum System Using Differential Evolution (차분진화 알고리즘을 이용한 회전형 역 진자 시스템의 최적 퍼지 제어기 설계)

  • In this study, we propose the design of optimized fuzzy controller for the rotary inverted pendulum system by using differential evolution algorithm. The structure of the differential evolution algorithm has a simple structure and its convergence to optimal values is superb in comparison to other optimization algorithms. Also the differential evolution algorithm is easier to use because it have simpler mathematical operators and have much less computational time when compared with other optimization algorithms. The rotary inverted pendulum system is nonlinear and has a unstable motion. The objective is to control the position of the rotating arm and to make the pendulum to maintain the unstable equilibrium point at vertical position. The output performance of the proposed fuzzy controller is considered from the viewpoint of performance criteria such as overshoot, steady-state error, and settling time through simulation and practical experiment. From the result of both simulation and practical experiment, we evaluate and analyze the performance of the proposed optimal fuzzy controller from the comparison between PGAs and differential evolution algorithms. Also we show the superiority of the output performance as well as the characteristic of differential evolution algorithm.

An Optimal Design of Notch Shape of IPM BLDC Motor Using the Differential Evolution Strategy Algorithm (차분진화 알고리즘을 이용한 IPM형 BLDC전동기의 Notch 형상 최적화 설계 연구)

  • In this paper, a cogging torque of IPM(Interior Permanent Magnet)-type BLDC motor is analyzed by FE program and the optimized notch on the rotor surface is designed to minimize the torque ripple. A differential evolution strategy algorithm and a response surface method are employed to optimize the rotor notch. In order to verify the proposed algorithm, an IPM BLDC motor is used, which is 50 kW, 8 poles, 48 slots and 1200 rpm at the rated speed. Its characteristics of the motor is calculated by FE program and 4 design variables are set on the rotor notch. The initial shape of the notch is like a non-symmetric half-elliptic and it is optimized by the developed algorithm. The cogging torque of the final model is reduced to $1.5[N{\cdot}m]$ from $5.2[N{\cdot}m]$ of the initial, which is about 71 % reduction. Consequently, the proposed algorithm for the cogging torque reduction of IPM-type BLDC motor using the rotor notch design seems to be very useful to a mechanical design for reducing noise and vibration.

Numerical Analysis of Differential Absorption Lidar for Measuring Atmospheric Pollutants (대기오염 측정용 DIAL의 오차해석에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we composed algorithm for DIAL(Differential Absorption Lidar). We investigated the absorption spectrum of $O_3$, $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ dependent on wavelengths using data base UV-Bank and determined the optimized wavelength model. Here, the selected optimal wavelengths are 292.00(${\lambda}_{on}$), 295.20 (${\lambda}_{off}$) for $O_3$, 299.38(${\lambda}_{on}$), 300.05 (${\lambda}_{off}$) for $SO_2$ and 448.00(${\lambda}_{on}$), 449.85(${\lambda}_{off}$) for $NO_2$. In particular, we established the supposed model of DIAL and simulated the error of measuring distance using the selected optimal wavelength. In the model-I with telescope of 300 mm diameter, laser energy of 3 mJ and transmission of 10000 shots, maximum distances are 4 km for $O_3$ measurement and 5 km for $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ measurements. Also, in the model-II with telescope of 600 mm diameter, laser energy of 30 mJ and transmission of 10000 shots, maximum distances are 13 km for $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ measurements.

A Simplified Assessment Method and Application for Consideration of Survivability in Spatial Layout Design at the Early Design Stage of Naval Vessels (함정 초기 설계 단계에서 레이아웃 설계 시 생존성을 고려하기 위한 간이 평가 방법과 애플리케이션)

  • Survivability of naval vessels is defined as the ability to perform functions and missions in a combat environment. Survivability has close relationship with the spatial layout of naval vessels. In order to maximize survivability, it must be considered from the early stage of design. However the existing concept of survivability was intended to be applied to unit vessels. So it was not suitable for assessment of spatial layout results at the early stage of design. In this paper, a simplified assessment method which can evaluate the spatial layout considering the survivability in the early stage of design has been proposed. For this, assessment layers were defined on survivability components such as susceptibility, vulnerability, and recoverability. Assessment layers of each component were overlapped to deduce a survivability layer of spatial layout alternatives. In addition, the proposed method and optimization algorithm were used to derive optimal spatial layout alternatives considering survivability.
