The Internet users as well as network providers are eager to have different qualities of service among users beyond the best-effort. In this paper, we propose a scheduling algorithm that provides a differentiated service in the granularity of user sessions. The proposed algorithm is a Hierarchical Deficit Round-Robin (H-DRR) algorithm that is an extension of an existing DRR algorithm. A main advantage is that H-DRR provides service differentiation for throughput-intensive applications such as FTP as well as delay-sensitive applications such as telnet or VoIP without distinguishing the types of applications. The most importance in providing a service differentiation in term of network providers is to have controllability and predictability. We show that H-DRR is superior to DRR in terms of controllability and predictability through both mathematical analysis and simulation experiments. Nevertheless, H-DRR requires O(1) complexity for implementation.

In this paper, we implemented SIP protocol that supports IPv6 and differentiated call processing scheme for NGN(Next Regeneration Network). In NGN, SIP processes call signaling among various application services. A softswitch and SIP server must give priority to sensitive services such as Fax, network management and home networking that require a fast call setup time. Also, the support of IPv6 is needed under consideration of All-IP. We proposed differentiated call processing scheme. The differentiated call processing scheme supports differentiated call processing as priority of service class on call processing in SW server We defined three service classes and use the Flow Label field of the IPv6 header for setting service class. Through the performance analysis, we proved that it improves throughput for call message with the high priority. The result of performance analysis demonstrates that differentiated call processing scheme gives better performance for the service requiring a fast session establishment in NGN.

인터넷의 활성화로 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 저작권 보호에 대한 필요성이 점차 증대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 디지털 워터마킹 기술을 이용하여 사용자 레벨에 따라 차별화된 콘텐츠 서비스를 제공하여 저작권을 보호할 수 있는 새로운 기술을 연구하였다. 여기서는 유료 사용자와 무료 사용자의 두 계층으로 분리하여 서비스를 할 수 있도록 하였으며, 유료 사용자는 고품질의 서비스를 무료 사용자는 저품질의 콘텐츠나 가시적인 로고가 들어가 있는 콘텐츠를 서비스 받도록 차별화할 수 있다. 디지털 워터마킹 기술은 콘텐츠의 품질을 높일 수 있는 정보를 은닉하는 데 활용된다.

The application that the user's contexts are continuously changed over time requires an efficient information retrieval. This paper proposes a new context-differentiated information retrieval method for an efficient ubiquitous service. This enables the rapid retrieval, because of no access to the most detail information at a time. This paper describes the retrieval method, the algorithms and the experimental results.

In this paper we propose service schemes for the control message of voice and data connections served by a Softswitch in NGN (next generation networks). After that we propose a method of evaluating the performance of a Softswitch that provides a limited delay to voice connections. Via numerical experiments, we verify the implication of the proposition in the design of a Softswitch, which simultaneously incorporates voice and data services in the NGN framework.

HTTP/1.0은 동일한 서버로부터 각각의 개체에 대하여 개별적인 TCP 연결을 생성하기 때문에 다중의 요구를 비효율적으로 처리한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 제안된 HTTP/1.0은 TCP 연결을 지속적인 연결(Persistent connection)이라는 개념을 도입하여 하나의 TCP 연결 상에서 다중의 요구(Request)를 처리하도록 하고 있다.[9]. 네트워크가 발전됨에 따라 사용자가 늘어나고 다양해지면서 서비스의 차별화 문제가 중요한 문제로 대두되었다.[3.5]. 본 논문에서 제시하는 Diff(Differentiated)-HTTP은 웹 서버에 서비스를 요청한 클라이언트들에게 차별화 된 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 사용자들 두 등급, 기본 등급과 우선 순위를 고려한 상위 등급으로 구분한다. 각 등급은 제한시간(Holding Time)으로 차별화 되고 상위 등급에 속한 클라이언트에게 제한된 시간을 증가시켜 지연을 최소로 함으로써 고품질의 서비스를 제공하는 방안을 제안한다.

VoIP(Voice over IP)는 패킷교환망을 통해 음성통신을 제공하는 기술이다. 초기의 VoIP에서는 사용상 제약조건과 불편함 때문에 사업모델이 성립하지 못하였다. 무선 광대역통신이 가능해지고, 멀티미디어 서비스에 적합하게 진화함에 따라 VoIP에서 무선접속기술을 이용한 Mobile VoIP서비스를 제공하고 있다. Mobile VoIP의 편리성으로 인하여 VoIP에서 새로운 사업모델이 창출되었고, 웹 2.0과 Mobile 인터넷전화의 결합에 의해 SNS(Social Network Service)으로 서비스가 확장되었다. 이로 인해 많은 서비스 제공자가 발생하였고, 이 서비스 제공 사업자는 크게 이동통신사업자, 소프트웨어 서비스 사업자, 가상이동통신사업자, 그리고 별정 사업자로 분류된다. 4가지의 서비스 제공 사업자는 각각 사업모델이 차별화 되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 Mobile 인터넷전화 기술동향을 살펴보고 서비스 동향을 분석한다. 그리고 Mobile 인터넷전화의 서비스 제공사업자의 차별화된 사업모델을 분석한다.
